Say a board uses SLROM, Will EVERY game that uses SLROM's be wired up exactly the same? Ect ect for the other type of pcb's? Also, what type does Kung Fu II and Raisins Use? Thanks!

Assuming you use the same eproms I see no reason that they would not be wired up the same. not sure on the second cart as I don't even think I have that rom but California Raisins according to LeonK in his other posts about his reproductions is a UNROM cart which can use Super Glove Ball, Robowarriors, Side Pocket and about 20 others if I remember right.

Sorry I didn't PM you this information before but I just got home since wife had me out furniture shopping :)

Oh no I didn't actually get to pick anything out. I just escorted her around every store, made vague noises of agreement and drove the truck. End of involvement :)

SLROM is SLROM..

but be careful with the pinouts. Not all EPROMs have the same pinout! When reading info on the net, make sure you are talking about the same EPROM chips from the same manufacturer, otherwise you'll need to get the PDF's for the EPROMs you have, and the ones you're reading the pinout for and correct accordingly.

Size also matters. Most info on the net is made for universal boards.. so they assume you will be using 4mbit (or 2mbit) memory chips. Most games use 1mbit chips, while others use 2mbit. So some data traces (the high ones) should not be connected! Again, a PDF of your EPROM is essential in figuring this one one.

Lastly, some boards (like UNROM) setup the mirroring mechanically on the PCB rather than in memory (you'll see this via the H & V spots on the board). You need to make sure you got the mirroring right, or the game will be be messed up on your TV.

Those are most of the gotcha's I ran into.

Good luck!!
