I am just wondering how my collection stands up to most people.

I would like to know how many of you have 40 or more systems.

Let me be clear.....I mean 40 unique systems

I have more than 1 of each system i own but i count these as 1 system

For example I have 1 top loader NES and 2 front loaders yet i only count this as 1 for purposes of this poll

I also only count computers if they are used only as game systems
by me and are cartridged based

here are mine...

1 3DO

2 Amiga CD32

3 atari 2600

4 atari 5200

5 atari 7800

6 atari Lynx

7 atari XEGS

also throw in my game axe, sega nomad and turbo express
as 44, 45, and 46

I don't think i missed any except 30 or so handhelds

Let me know about your collection

Not unless you want to count my 11 or 12 NES units :P

My stuff's in my sig.

This is another one of those YMMV lists since everyone counts things differently. What about famiclones? Gameaxe? Polystation? Pong systems? I'm gonna cut n paste your list and trim it down, here goes!

Seems like we've started to get into genesis model 1, 2, 3, coleco gemini, etc... so I'll beef up my list some :)

Hey, no fair, I need another system.... Although, I HAD C64, TI-99, and other conputers (Console computers, conputers, is that a new word?) I don't collect for them, so they're gone now. This number would easily double if you include variations (columbia house atari 2600, etc..)

I have not taken a count of my systems so I went through your list and saw 4 that I do not have but I have the following you don't list:

CoCo (Color Computer)
APF MP1000
RCA Studio II
Channel F
Memorex VIS
Commodore CDTV
Laseractive
Veiw Master interactive
Commodore VIC 20 computer
Sega Pico
R-Zone
Microvision
Bally Astrocade

Don't know if you would count the JVC xeye since it is a Sega CD

Also would you count the Atari computers since they all use the same carts? I have the following Atari Computers:
400
800
800 XL
600 XL
130 XE
1200

Also do you count all of the systems that play Comodore 64 Carts? Such as the:
128
128D

Same goes for the Coleco Adam. Plays Colecovision Carts?

I also have 10-20 Pong systems do they count?

Anyway just counting those systems I'm sure meet you rules, Yes I make it over 40 .. around 49
:-P :-P :) :) :-P

I'm all about depth, and not about breadth.

1 NES
2 original GB
3 GBC special Pikachu ed
4 GBA
5 GBA SP NES limited ed
6 PS2
7 GameCube
8 PC

I'd far rather buy games than systems.

DAMN ! @_@ , what is wrong with all of you. The average seems to be somewhere around 30+ systems ! The funny thing is I haven't even heard of half of these systems people are naming off, so I can only imagine how good the games are for them. Anyways, here is my list

NES
SNES
N64
PS2
Gamecube

I used to have Dreamcast and a Sega Genesis (model 3) , but I gave them away cause I didn't use them.

So that's how I have most of y'all beat on number of games owned! Most of y'all have me beat on number of systems owned! Now I really hope that I get that Gameboy Advance SP Classic NES system that I've been wanting!

I'm only at 12 right now!

Sega Game Gear
Sega Genesis
Sega CD
Sega 32X
Sega Saturn
Sega Dreamcast
Panasonic 3DO
Sony Playstation
Atari Jaguar
Atari Jaguar CD
Nintendo SNES
Nintendo Virtual Boy

13 if I count my Sega Nomad, which counts IMO, as it's a standalone system. My Sega CDX would count too, if I had the one that I've been wanting yet!

But my question is, how many of you estimate the number of games in your collection at somewhere between 1200-1500 individual games? Yeah, that's what I thought, there's not very many of us in that group now, is there? :D

Hmmm....can I pretend and say that I've got......40 different N64 systems?

Your lists are impressive. I ran a video game store for several years and never, ever came across even a fraction of that stuff in my trade-in business!!! Before I took over the shop, the previous guy let a sealed 3DO go for $50 on his way out. I shoulda scored it.

Do we get to count arcade cabinets separately? If so, I get to start at 25 ...

Seriously though, you guys are insane! For those of you who are in the 40+ club, do you also collect games for all those systems? That would get expensive in a hurry!

morphx
10-26-2004, 10:20 AM
I wouldn't go for complete collections unless the library was less than say 40ish...I'm close to finishing VB and Ody2. I usually grab about 20 good games per console. I'm more into collecting systems/accessories.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I had no idea that digitpress had so many millionaires on here. lol. I think I spend alot of dough and I only collect for 1 system, I couldn't even imagine looking for games for 40+ systems... well at least there is always something to buy. ;)

for the systems that i have, i do try to collect games for all of them....i dont make every system a top priority, but, if i find a deal on something i dont have, i jump on it

01. Pong (x2)
02. Atari 2600 (x6?)
03. Odyssey 2
04. Intellivision
05. Atari 5200

16. Amiga 500
17. GP32
18. Dreamcast (x4)
19. PS2
20. Xbox
21. Gamecube

I counted the computers because I only use them for gaming. I didn't count each variant (ie: Sega Genesis 1, 2, 3) as a separate number.

I also didn't count the 25 arcade cabinets. :P

Hmm

In my collection I count anything that takes multiple carts or games as a system. So there is only one 2600 catagory. And one IBM PC catagory although I seperate Real Arcade out because I have bought games for it. So my collection http://www.vulcanjedi.com/inventory.htm
shows 1003 games for 52 different systems.

I don't have my hardware listed yet. but that number might be up there too because I have every 2600 and Genesis and a few atari 8bits and so on...
