My freind won some of the nes prototypes at OKGE. Their great but the prototypes have problems but it came with a slip of paper stating these and that they will fix them. They work from like 30ft and you can switch to the person playing's frequency and screw them up.They will have 4 frequencies for support of the 4-player adapter. Well worth looking into esp. if a lot of people trip over the wires at your house. My freind who got them knows alot more but he is rarely seen on these boards. I think Flack saw him at OKGE but Im not sure because my ride there got drunk off their ass and went without me. I think his name on here is Smiling Jack but his real name is Derek he is a Nes addict.

Haha, that's a technique I never thought of! I can see my friends "accidentally" doing this just to mess with me! And yup, I did meet Derek, he helped both Phosphor Dot Fossil and I load up after a long day at OKGE, and the help was greatly appreciated by both of us! Tell Derek we need to go thrifting some weekend before it gets too cold and all the good flea markets close for the year.

I know the Turbo Grafx comunity is probably smaller than others but they need the wireless controller more than anyone else. I can't sit 2ft in front of my TV anymore. Please TG-16 controller next please.
Actually, there are some official wireless IR controllers for the TG16. Only released in Japan, extremely rare, and prohibitively expensive...but they exist....I have one and it's ALL I use. Wireless 2.4 Ghz TG16 controllers would be a MUST buy for me...but the demand is exceedingly limited IMO. The one system that REALLY REALLY needs these that hasn't been mentioned much is the Genesis....I would SLAY for a set of these for the Genny! And those will only be made if the SNES and NES ones sell well. Personally, I find that they were both very very solid products and well worth it. It'll take some getting used to...using the D-stick on em, but they're NICE! Don't count em out.....if you can afford to, it's worth your time to try em!

@ RCM: SNES and NES are two of the hottest retrogaming consoles. They're probably the most played of any, and the easiest in terms of accessibility for the average gamer. They'll sell...it's just a matter of marketing em right and getting the word out there....and these controllers are GOOD.
Also...um....why does RCM talk about himself in the third person? Is there some sort of complex there we should know about? Distancing yourself from some sort of brutal crime? :o

PlayMessiah- What ever happened to the CGE pictures? Are we ever going to see them?
Well Marty... unfortunately several were out of focus because we had the exposure set longer due to the low light. We did get a lot of good shots though... especially of you :D
The other reason is that we only have 3 people working for the company and we have been just swamped trying to get the controllers finished and shipped. That is no excuse though. I will ask Perry to get some stuff up ASAP.
For those of you that did not get emails from me on updates, I am sorry.... for some reason in China all messages to a hotmail account comes back undeliverable, which most of you gave us a hotmail email address. I have to send them to Carrie in the US to resend so we might have missed some. If you did miss the emails you also missed some great pictures from China as well. When I talk to Perry, I will try to get the China Pictures up as well.
Thanks for everyone’s support. I am looking forward to hearing what you guys think of the controllers...
Thanks again,
Brad

Ohh.....
I forgot to mention..... since I have been in China... I started work on a USB Receiver.... I realize that you can buy adapters out there that make it possible to use our product on the PC... but I think you might be interested in our USB Receiver....
The USB Receiver will work with both of our current controllers... that means if you want to play NES you just use the Wireless NES Controller with the USB Receiver instead of the receiver that came with the controller... You can also Use the Wireless SNES Controller with the same USB Receiver. And WHEN we release Atari and Genesis.... these will also work with the USB Receiver.
I will keep everyone posted on this as more info is available!!!

I appologize if this question was asked already, I just skimmed the whole thread.
Whats the status of the NES Wireless Limited Edition backorder? A possible estimate would be great on when they will be back in stock.
Thanks. :D

I am in China now working on getting the next shippment out. We are running production on Saturday and will ship them to the US on Monday. That means if there are no customs hold ups... the product should be able to ship Thursday or Friday of next week.

It wasn't very hard to snag a picture of me. 8-)
I just want to say the controllers have been working awsome. I use them just about everyday, and so do my friends. Have not had any problems minus the small glitches the protos already had. :D

I guess I'm first on the list then. I received mine today and I sure am glad I got the set of two in the tin. It's not so much that I wanted the extras but I would have bummed that I missed out on the extras for buying two. Not to mention the discount. The turbo and slow feature is pretty cool too. Absolutely excellent quality. The only other company to release a wireless controller this sweet is Nintendo themselves....but I don't see them giving it any consideration in the near future ;)

WOw Messiah is such a trend setter. I mean who else shows you the manufacturing process, well I guess you can't be brutally honest because then you'd have to bring out all the 7 year olds working the assembly line. IN all seriousness though that is so cool seeing the pics of each step in the process. I'm sure everyone here has wondered what it's like to manufacture something like this, thanks for bringing us one step closer. Okay do I get a free lunch box set of nes controllers yet? I have to wait for christmas, my wife asked me what I wanted and these controllers are at the top of my list.

Glad to hear you are enjoying the pictures. We will update them periodically. For those of you that missed the link... here it is...
http://www.playmessiah.com/v-web/gallery
As far as the seven year olds go... that is really a common misconception. I have never seen any children in the factories since I have been working in China. That is not to say that it does not happen.... we just choose to work with the more reputable factories.
In fact there are many misconceptions about China and the factory life. All the workers live in dormitories at the factory... all there living expenses are paid for including food. So, really the worker gets to save 100% of the money they make. They do work 6 days a week for the most part, but they do get overtime for anything more than 10 hours per day. The other thing that is great is during Chinese new year the workers get anywhere from 3 to 5 weeks off to travel home to see there families.... :o man... I wish I got that much vacation time... :D
The other thing that shocked me the other day.... I was at the factory during the first production run and was actually sitting on the line putting the stickers on the lunch boxes.... all of a sudden we had stereo music echoing down the production line.... Just about every worker has there own mobile phone. It is one of those things you would not expect.
Anyway.... We are glad to hear everyone’s comments, Thanks for your support!!!![/url]

I guess I'm late to the party. I just saw the article for these in GameInformer & went to the website & saw they were on back order.
Has the latest shipment sold out already?

Yes, unfortunately we had Customs loose half of our last shipment and now we have several order that we were not able to ship. We are expecting more products with in the next few weeks.

Of course yours will go out. We are shipping the oldest orders first. Also for those with Hotmail or AOL accounts... we are having problems with emailing those email addresses. For some reason they come back to us undeliverable.
We are very sorry for the delays and will get orders out ASAP!

I saw the article in game informer and decided I must have them! thanks for bringing present tech to the past.

Wow,sweet, those joypads look very cool, i'd have to keep my eyes open for a box of those, want one of those, they look ultra nice.
So they play ok, people here seem to like it very much, i got other joypads with infra red, these are relax to use too.

Oh yeah, you definitely don't want to confuse Messiah's wireless controllers with the old infrared styles like the Dual Turbo you listed above. A much better analogy is to compare them to the WaveBird. Response is perfect and the product is quality.

I really want the SNES set. Should I place an order now to get in line?
Will you charge my credit card immediately or when it ships?
Also, do you think these will ship before Christmas? I may pick up an extra set for a friend if so.
playmessiah
11-17-2004, 05:28 PM
We should be shipping in the next few weeks. I would recomend placing the order to get in line because as soon as we take the items off backorder we usually get a flood of orders.
About charging the credit card... we use PayPal to process or Credit Card orders so that means as soon as you place the order your credit card is charged. Sorry about this.
These are better questions to email us about. If anybody has any questions they can email us at:

My friend Joe just got his order in yesterday and he sent me his "review" via Email. Thought I'd share it with you...
"well first for bragging rights :-)>. My limited edition is number 85
outta 5000, you can't really see it great but if you look closely at
the tinback.JPG you can make it out to some extent. 5000 runs, that's
not bad, it's a decent limit. Well let's talk business about it. I
must shamefully say i forgot to take a picture of the back of the
controller but it's quite ergonomic, they redesigned it so it's not
smooth but rounded and very comfortable to grip. The remoteness of it
as far as i can tell w/my limited experience is as good as the
wavebird. I was playing super mario all stars from the back hall i had
my head around the corner to watch the TV and my body and controller
were both pointed in the opposite direction and it was all working
great. As you can see in the controllers.JPG the A,B,X and Y buttons
are just like the original, i figured they'd be flat. Start, Select,
Turbo and Slow are all flat. Sometimes they're ultra sensitive,
sometimes you have to apply a little pressure. The D-Pad is EXTREMELY
sensitive. I'm used to relaxing my thumb on it a lil w/o any motion,
well it's not quite like that on these things *L*. The 2nd layer.JPG
those are your remotes, you simply hook them up to the SNES jes like u would a controller and they hang a bit loosely from it.
All in all it's freaking awesome, and personally you should at the very least order you one while you can. If every console was wire free it would be so frikkin awesome. Anyways that's my report i'm pleased, and can't wait till Cmas when i get my NES limited edition!"
He's not exactly one to warm up to third party controllers, so it's really something if he raves so much about them.

Hey Brad,
is there a "drop dead date" for people who want to place an order for Christmas to receive it in time for the holiday?
Any order placed before November 28th will be delivered before Christmas for sure. Even if we over sell the incoming shipment there is still enough time to get more made and delivered to the customer before Christmas.
If we have plenty of inventory on hand... as long as orders are placed by December 12th and we are shipping to the lower 48 states it will arrive before Christmas.
So it all just really depends on how many of you order product. To be safe I recommend placing the order in November. This will give us plenty of time to react if we need to get more inventory.
Thank for the Support

I just got my early christmas present from my wife and you guessed it, she got me the nes controllers from messiah. I've only used it for a couple of days but I think I can give it a fair assessment.
D-pad- awkward at first but only because you're used to applying so much pressure just to get any kind of response. The messiah "d-pad" is very sensitive and also very responsive.
A+B buttons are also very responsive and have good recoil if that makes any sense.
The only other thing I can say is that these babies were worth the money and it gives me such great pleasure to be able to sit 15 feet away from my tv and not have to worry about yanking any controller wires. Thank you messiah, I'll be putting some mileage on these babies.

*raises old topic from the dead, while promptly making sure it doesn't try to eat him*
So, I finally got one of these puppies for my NES, and have been testing them on FDS Zelda (which I got today with FDS Zelda II and FDS Metroid, and is a post all its own).
Suh-weet.
Granted, I'm a devotee of the Advantage (both the NES and Super NES versions), but this controller is damn near perfect. Two questions, though, for the Messiah folks (since they've posted here before): what's the status on the Genny, NES Advantage, and Atari 2600 controllers? Also, when you guys carry the Genesis and 2600 controllers, will you have the requisite AC adaptors available, too?

Any chance that Messiah Ent. will release versions of their NES and SNES controllers with a more traditional "plus" D-pad? That was the only thing that I didn't like about the current controllers. The wireless, battery life, size, weight, and all other buttons were perfect, but the D-pad was just too finicky for NES and SNES games.

The Generation NEX console, being released at CGE in August, has traditional "plus" style D-pad controls. I'd imagine it won't be long before they're selling the controllers solo as well.

Wired or wireless? If the answer is "wireless", I will buy NEX consoles just for the wireless "plus" d-pad controllers :) The change that I actually think that I like on the NES and SNES controllers is SELECT/START buttons. Since they are typically used for menu-type stuff and not fast paced action stuff, it is nice to have a more durable button technology than the rubber used on the NES and SNES controllers. However, I am sure there will be people who disagree with me.
With these kinds of things, maybe it would be best to keep the same design, but just make the controller wireless? I love the 2.4Ghz wireless technology, so lets see what Messiah Ent does. Maybe they could make extension cords to the NES, for the stubborn types. SNES extension cords are a dime a dozen, but NES extension cords are impossible to find.

"The )plus* shaped D-Pad is overrated IMO. AS a SMS kid, I have no nostalgia for the NES *plus* D-Pad. I think the Messiah D-Pad is superior."
All personal preference, don't see how it could be overrated if that's what people prefer. I enjoy using those much more than stuff like the digital controls on Dual Shock controllers for example. Your feelings and hands are different than everyone else's. I can't stand the Game Cube controller for example, but there are dozens here that prefer it over any controllers for current consoles.
I've actually tried those wireless SuperNes controllers, and my opinion of the the replacement for the d-pad echos what I just read on another classic gaming board just now, useless. It just doesn't work well for some of us. Some people here love them and adjusted just fine, but I'd love to see them put a d pad on their wireless SNES controllers. Then they would be perfect for me. :)

I posted this earlier in a new thread as I couldn't find an appropriate one. I should have used the search function more thoroughly though, then I would have found this one. Sorry about that :(
I think that these new controllers looks absolutely great and I would very much like to have some.
One thing though that I think is a little bit annoying is that the receivers that plugs into the NES has wires. It doesn't look good and it isn't practical to have them lying around.
I think they should be redesigned to be just a hardware unit that plugs directly into the NES without the cable ?
Something like the receiver for the "NES Satellite" which looks really slick when mounted ?
Wouldn't that be a good idea ?
Brad ?
