View Full Version : Where do you go for your online videogame news?

You know the ol' submit news link (http://www.digitpress.com/news/submit.php) that's on the main site as well as on the link bar atop each forum page? To date, that's been the conduit for all of the great game news we've received since we started doing regular news at the start of 2004. We have a few folks who are checking into news around the 'net and providing the links to the main stories that we find interesting or useful to link to on the DP front page.
Sometimes I'm asked the question by people who want to participate in this area: WHERE do I find news? So I thought it might be time to compile a tidy list of reliable gaming new sources here.
And reporters, this is important: don't copy the headlines from these news sites, simply follow the links to the source. It's up to YOU to provide the few sentences that describe the news item here.
So. Where do you go for your online videogame news? Here's what we've got so far:

You could check ign.com but they steal information from everywhere. Also you could check a magazine's website.

*GASP*
I can't believe no one has mentioned Rumor Engine (http://rumorengine.com/games) yet! It is THE site for gaming-related news. Here's some highlights:
-THIS IS TRUE SONY IS THINKING SERIOUSLY ADDING ONE MORE SCREEN TO THE PSP! EXACTLY! THAT`S WHY ITS BEEN DELAYED SO MANY TIMES! SONY WANTS TO MAKE SURE THTAS NOTHING IS GETTING ONN THEIR WAYS, NOT EVEN DS. THE MAIN PROBLEM THAT THEY ARE DEALING, IS THE BATERY`S LIFE...
-A relatively unknown Irish game studio named Shannen Corporation is developing a knife fight FPS. You play an often drunk Irish werewolf and you cruise the Englih pubs in the countryside. You pick up fights, etc. Looks pretty lame from what they showed at the magazine I work in
-So, ahnn this is not agame related news, but jast in case...HIDEO kojima is planning to turn into a woman very soon.

I live and die by ign.com
I can spend hours a day there. Plus anytime I am bored, go back months or years and look at news or stuff there. (Love the N64 stuff)
