View Full Version : Leonard Herman MAD LIB I - Completed!

You've all played MAD LIBS. You fill in the blanks with various word parts and in the end a pre-defined paragraph is made "silly" by the new words that have been inserted into the text.
I've taken a very celebrated video game writer's work (actually just three paragraphs sent to Digital Press some time ago) and will now ask you to replace certain words. When you're done, I'll show you your creation.
It's easy. And Leonard, you're welcome to play. :D
First. I need an "action verb".

On Keeping Those Corn Cobs
By Hornhead Sermon
I've been slapping things since I was about 24 years old. I had every cap-gun and a spectacular video game collection. Unfortunately I gave both away. I still keep up with my Hummel figurine collection, which dates back to Super Bowl XIX! Anyway, when I bought my first Microvision in 1908, I necessarily began slapping all of the palm pleasers that were available for it.
I was a real conceited person then. Even during the 1908 World Series I knew that palm pleasers would be prickly someday! I remember proudly showing my friends my mint copy of CX6969 - Lil’ Nemo’s Wet Dream that came with my Microvision. It even came in a box made of cotton with a painful itch, which Acme Anvil Company stopped producing for its newer palm pleasers!. "ZOINKS!" I told my friends. "This palm pleaser will be slappable some day. Acme Anvil Company palm pleasers will be as plentiful as records and this one (Lil’ Nemo’s Wet Dream) is the very first!"
Unfortunately I didn't heed my own advice. After the Great Potato Famine, my visions of palm pleasers becoming slappable faded along with the games on the Crazy Eddy shelves. I threw out all of my corn cobs to make room in the apartment. And although I still bought silicone breast implants, any visions that I had that they might be slappable one day vanished.
And here we are nearly 6½ years later, and what do you know, my palm pleasers are suddenly slappable! I had been right all along! Well it's a good thing that I kept that 'first' palm pleaser Lil’ Nemo’s Wet Dream. I still have the NUON also, even though I threw the corn cob away. I better run and wrap it in a coconut bra as soon as possible!
