Well I just picked up my collectors edition MK for my xbox and before playing deception I wanted to go at mk1 the so called perfect arcade port and I have to say It's not perfect The audio seems to die out in the courtyard stage has anyone else had this problem ? I thought it was only my disc but my buddy just confirmed his does this as wel. This is a less then stellar emulated port The mame Version Far outdoes this version in my opinion. You would think that with all the power the xbox has they could have not took the extra time to work out all the bugs.
Thanks

There are reports of problems with MKII and III on the Arcade Treasures II disc. I can only assume they'd use the same emulator, so it doesn't surprise me that MKI would have issues as well.
Why is it that the pirates and hackers can get emulation right, while the companies themselves continue to muck it up?

Man I really hate that, Im having thoughts about picking up that collection now if it's going to suffer from the same bugs as this mk1 port. I think Im going to rent it just to see what kind of bugs it has. It would be such a shame to see one of the greatest fighters of all time like Mk2 go down the crapper on a lazy port. It really seems like the companies dont think people will notice or just dont want to invest money on getting things done right. We classic gamers need to take a stand so at least they can listen to our gripes.l
Thanks

I agree with Craig Harris, IGN's MAT2 reviewer, about Kosmik Krooz'r (which he calls "Kosmik Kruiser," but hey) and Wacko being throwaways, but dissing Wizard of Wor as "filler"?! I say thee nay! WoW is one of the glorious highlights of the collection.

It's the power of the hive-mind. MAME is the collective work of dozens of amateur programmers and "testers," whereas Digital Eclipse is a small crew of on-the-clock professionals.
Also, I cut DE a little slack in that MK2 and 3 are of recent vintage, and thus harder to perfectly emulate. Midway's coin-op hardware was powerful stuff.

Have you noticed any errors with the extra packing? I know of 1 person that got a Sub-Zero card with spelling errors on it.

They spelt Scorpion wrong.
Also somewhere else on the packing I guess the stats were supposed to be for Scorpion, but it was put down for Sub-Zero. Plus they spelt somebody else's name wrong too. The guy said everybody else he's asked did not have any errors...looks like he might have a rare find now, right?

You take that back! You take back that Wacko dissing or I will cut you!

They spelt Scorpion wrong.
thats pretty bad....a company should have the ability to use spell check....and they should probably have at least more than 1 person read over stuff before they mass produce it

The guy sent an email to Midway about the misprints and here is their reply:
Thank you for contacting Midway Games. We appreciate you taking the time and energy to send a full error report. We have been made aware of the misprints on the packaging. There are no plans at this time to run another printing, but if this does occur, I will let you know immediately.

Dammit.
I was really excited for the original MK pack-in.
Now I'm not so sure I want it anymore.

For the record, I've pre-ordered this game and should have it tomorrow.
I'm curious to hear what others have to say, especially "Mr. Mortal Kombat", Arcade Antics. :)

I want to get this but I haven't heard that much discussion about it. I have read on some MK fansites about the game but getting an unbiased opinion is very hard at those boards.

I got the "Kollector's Edition" for Xbox last week. I've never was a fan of the MK series (I'm more of a Street Fighter guy) but I haven't able to stop playing it. There is so much stuff to unlock and the Konquest mode is interesting addition. I say buy it. I think people are over-exaggerating the problems with the MK1 disc. I haven't noticed any glitches in it, but then again, I'm not a huge MK fan so it'd be hard for me to notice.
My only complaint is that you are required to pull off some *insane* combos in the Konquest mode. Last night I had to do a 9-button combo in order to advance to the next area. Must have took me at least a half hour to nail it. I heard that there is even a 13-button one you'll have to do. Give me a break. Like anyone human could pull that off in an actual 1-on-1 game. x_x

I actually got the chance to play Deception today at me local EB Games store. I went to practice mode as my man Baraka, of course, and while it does play and seem rather similar to Deadly Alliance, I read up on the unlockables of this game in the strategy guide, and HOLY CRAP, this could take ages to complete! Plus, my man Baraka's back and better than ever, so I'm definitely considering snagging this. :D
... this is ironic, because I went to that store to get Katamari Damacy. One down, one to go, and I'm pretty sure I'll have many, many, many, many, many more to add to my "must get" list by Christmas time. x_x

Okay, I gotta bump this topic because I'm retarded... in Konquest mode, I'm in the Earthrealm outside the village... and I don't know how to get back inside the village. >_<
The stupid door back in is locked. Can anyone help me here?

I have been in contact with them a few times. I have the Scorpion version for Xbox and they spelled Molochs name Mokoch.
I don't know if any of the other versions had errors as well.
