Midway Arcade Treasures Gamecube question

Everyone-

Does the music in Smash TV suddenly stop during play in the Gamecube version? I have the GC version and this is happening right now.

Is this normal? There is not a single scratch on the disc and the lens on my Cube is not dirty.

When does this specifically happen to you? I've never had sound problems when I've played it.

It happens one a track has completed. It is like the music doesn't loop. Occasionally it seems to come back, but not right away. When the track changes at the boss fights or when starting up a new stage, the music starts, but it too seems to end. Sound effects are totally fine.
