I don't think Dreamcast should be included since it's no longer supported, it's too easy of a pick.

With the DC out, then Xbox by far.

Casting aside the fact that the PS2 can play original PS1 games, I choose the Playstation as my favorite on that list.

The original Playstation had games, games, and even more games that I enjoyed playing. I could make a mile long list. :)

I voted X-Box (I most people don't like the evil empire), just b/c they have an AWESOME online system.

I voted PS2. Not that I love the PS2 that much, but the variety, volume, and breadth of titles just can;t be beat, especially when counting all the PSX titles that can be played.

I do like the Cube better in an ideal world as far as reliability, graphics, and controllers, but I play my PS2 much more than my Cube since there's soooo much more good software to be had. IMO.

PS2 is my favorite modern system. I like it because of the wide variety of games.

i voted for the nintendo gamecube.

it was close between the gamecube and the xbox. but i love ALL the resident evil games they did on the gamecube, that was the main reason why i bought the system just for those games...

I'm going withe the GBA (SP).

The main reasons are:

1. Portability. I just like having a system that I can take with me where ever I go, without taking up a ton of space. My Lynx used to be the favorite her (and it still hold a place in me somewhere), but the GameBoy has takin the spot for now.

2. Shear amount of games. If you want choice, there are do many darn GameBoy games, it's beyond reason. I could never possibly see collecting them all, or even a large portion there of. That said, I've bought many a game over the last few years. Yes, I jumped on the Gameboy bandwagon late. I just would not buy one until they had a backlit version - the SP! I'll being buying games, used and new for years to come on this one.

3. The system itself. I like the SP. Some have complained about the size and button layout, but I think it is just fine. It is nice and compact, and I love that the screen is protected with it is folded up. That, and I find the screen to be reasonably sharp and colorful. The newer systems (PSP and DS may be better here, but I don't care).

I could probably list more reasons, but this is good enough for me! :D

I voted for the good old 'cube. Definitely my favorite system of this generation, dreamcast included. I just feel that it has more great games than the other systems. It has a really nice good game to bad game ratio. I'd say almost all of the exclusive games are good. I made a list one day of all the games I like for ps2,xbox and gamecube and there were quite a few more cube ones than the others despite it having the smallest game library. I love systems like this one and the turbo grafx where there aren't a ton of games but almost all of them are decent. Also the graphics are excellent in my opinion. I know the xbox is technically more powerful but to me metroid prime 1 and 2 look just as as ninja gaiden, halo or doom 3 for example. The fact that the system and games are small appeals to me too. Where as my xbox looks like a big piece of luggage in front of my tv the game cube is nice and compact.

i am a nintendo fan and it would be hard for me to get into anything other than the gamecube. i like the exclusive titles that the cube has. for me the controller is easier to use out of the top 3 consoles.

I chose the PC. The only thing about consoles that I prefer over PCs is the multiplayer aspect. When I want to game with friends, I'll usually take a console...but other than that the PC has too many advantages...upgradable, top-notch graphics, mods, backwards compatibility with thousands of games, mastered on-line capabilities, etc...and if need be, it can also be hooked up to a TV to get that "video game" feel. ;)

Voted for the Cube even though I'm building a complete Xbox collection. I may have chosen the Xbox if the thing worked. Mine had a faulty drive out of the box, and the replacement started to die soon after. For some reason, when I first called MS customer support, they immediately said they had been recieving "a lot" of reports like mine, but when I called about the replacement drive, they said that they had never heard of anything happening. Anyway, I can't enjoy what I can't use.

The Cube, on the other hand, never breaks down and is graphically as impressive as the Xbox. And the good games are very, very good.

I would say that it is the DreamCast. It was the first system in a while that gave me a butterfly feeling. Lots of good time's with the DC.

Dreamcast - Jet Grind/Set Radio, IMO, is the best video game ever created.

Plus, you can't go wrong with games like: Soul Calibur, ChuChu Rocket, Bangai 0!, Charge N' Blast, Mars Matrix, Typing of the Dead, Mr. Driller, Metropolis Street Racer, Crazy Taxi, the "better than Madden, any day" NFL 2k series, Shenmue, Samba de Amigo, Virtua Tennis, Power Stone 2, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, MDK 2, Rayman 2, PSO, Wacky Races, DOA2, and Cannon Spike. I could go on, but my hands are starting to tire.

Hard to decide between the GameCube and PS2...but I think I'll have to go with the GameCube.

I voted for the Xbox.....and then I saw the PS1 was also on the list. It's pretty much a tie between those two. I have more PS1 games, half of which are imports. But the Xbox games are bigger, look better and offer online play. Hmm....yeah, definitely a tie.

And yes I realize that this thread is old. But oh well.

Voted PS2, largely because it's effectively a PS1 and a PS2 in one so you get the best of both worlds. Discounting backwards compatibility, I'd have gone for the Dreamcast quite easily.
