Found out whats in it this year. Its not that Fable idea many thought a few weeks ago.

Xbox Console
NCAA Football 2005
Top Spin
2 Free Months of Xbox Live

$149.99

Will be available late October, early November.

Not a bad deal at all if you dont own an Xbox.

Gotta have one every year I guess. 2001 was JSRF/Sega GT, 2002 was Tetris Worlds/Clone Wars, 2003 was Halo (Probablythe best as it had the new case design.) and this year NCAA Football/Top Spin. Well.. I don't like the choice of games. And they'll probably be one disc. So I'll have to pick it up at GameStop to put with my JSRF/Sega GT/Tetris/Clone discs.

I don't suppose there was a bundle, official bundle when the Xbox came out in 2000?

No I dont think so either. I got mine when it was releases as a bundle, but it wasnt something put together my MS, just some thing that TRU put together.

Ya, It most likely will be on a single disk which sucks, but those are still in the top 25 most played XBL games so many will still bite at it.

EDIT- Its all on one disk. So it seems on EBGames.com.

How'd you conclude that? I don't see anything there suggesting its on one disc.

How'd you conclude that? I don't see anything there suggesting its on one disc. They've done it for the other two. I will go out on a limb here and say it will be one disc. One disc, two sides, Not For Resale printed on both sides. It's only natural.

I'm not disputing that, I just don't see anything on that EB url he linked us to that would prove it.

I'm not disputing that, I just don't see anything on that EB url he linked us to that would prove it.Neither do I. But I would probably bet the house it is one disc. It allows them to save money, space and put demos on the disc.

Which brings up a question I am wondering. Is there anything different about the copy of Halo that was bundled with last years set? I would think so, but I haven't seen any special looking versions yet. I would picture one with the words "Not For Resale" on the front and some badge talking about demos.

2002 was JSRF/Sega GT, 2003 was Clone Wars/Tetris Worlds, Xbox was released in 2001 not 2000, the Halo LE set was released earlier this summer in 2004.

Or am I just crazy? I thought it was still 04.

I must be way off then.

Adjust my post to be 2002 for JSRF/Sega GT and 2003 for Tetris Worlds/Clone Wars. Nothing in 2001. I was thinking the Halo bundle was Christmas.

Whatever.

Anyway, any answer to my question about the case and label and design for the bundled Halo? I'm curious if it's a variation.

Man, what a crappy bundle this year. Guess it beats not getting any games at all, though.

@Picture of discs: Ah, not as fancy as I pictured. Basically the same exact package except with "Not for Resale" on the front and the barcode replaced with a health meter. Still has "Game of the Year" on it.

BTW, off topic, anyone have a picture of the Halo NON-Game of the Year version? I've never seen it without that ugly gold badge.

remember the days when GOOD games came bundled in?
Sonic 2? SMB/DH? the endless snes bundles, mario world/mario kart, mario world/zelda....i remember mine actually came with mario world, mario kart, and a mail in for mario all stars so i got three games with it....
Now, we get crappy pack ins. Everyone complains about the common-ness of smb/dh, but at least both games are quality.

Ive got that version, just dont have the case with me, But it looks exactly the same as GOTY, minus the badge and a few of the review quotes are changed and its just a paper insert. None of that fancy "Foil" printed insert stuff.

And if we want to get specific, there are 4 Halo disc/insert sets., and the discs are only really tellable apart, when you go to the demos on them. There are different demo's for each run of the game.
Original (non GOTY)
Foil GOTY
Paper GOTY
Halo Bundle NFS GOTY

On the topic of variations, Looks like Canada is getting a somewhat different pack-in game with their holiday bundle, besides Top Spin/NCAA.

double disks rock. they go for half the price of the games by themselves (i paid 7.99 for jsrf/sega gt combo, and the same store was selling jsrf alone for 9.99)

I wonder how many Xbox Consoles they would sell this year if they packed in Halo 2?

I think they've pretty much given up on the console war though, considering Nextbox or Xenon will be out next Christmas. I know it hasn't been anounced yet, but I'm betting it will be. I wonder how much longer Xbox will be supported with software?

I know this is kinda off topic, but on a side note. Has anyone else heard about Nintendo making deals with IBM for the CPU and ATI to power the Graphics in thier next console? Which is the same hardware that Microsoft is using. It seems safe to say that in that case DEV kits are probably being distributed to Nintendo developers as they are already in the hands of MS Developers. It seems to me Sony is going to be left behind with the Cell Chip architecture of the PS3, I'm not entirely sure that they even have a working prototype yet? I think they should have waited until PS4 to implement that Technology.

I'm hoping to ge some more info on this, but a friend of mine is the store manager at our local TRU. He said the bundle goes on sale starting on Oct. 31st. Now, I couldnt quite get all the details because it was a brief conversation but he said it was a console, 2 games (price restricted I'm sure) and a subscription to xbox live ( not sure on duration of this ) same price $149.99

LiquidX01

Im a bit confused,

Are you saying that TRU is getting their own type of bundle or are you saying that the bundle includes what we already know, which is Console, Top Spin/NCAA Football, and a 2 month subscription to Xbox Live?

On the topic of Xbox bundles...

I live up in Canada.

These are some of the bundles I have seen in the past.

JSRF/Sega GT 2002
Tetris Worlds/Clone Wars

Last fall/winter, they also had a KOTOR/Mechassault bundle at the same time as the holiday package. Cost a bit more though.

There was a bundle with Halo prior to that. Standard black Xbox though.

In the spring when USA had their green Halo bundle, Canada had an Extreme green Xbox bundle. Same green console, but no "Halo" written on the unit and standard xbox jewel on the green controller. Project Gotham Racing 2 and Crimson Skies were packed in (separate discs).

The new Holiday bundle is indeed Amped 2 and Top Spin tennis on one disc. However it comes in a cardboard sleeve. Not even a DVD case! How cheap can you get?
