I remember someone on here saying that Gran Turismo (non-GH) has a tendency to corrupt memory cards when saving. That it was later corrected for the GH version. Is there a list anywhere of games that had bugs or errors that were corrected for the GH releases? I may want to re-buy (pending they are inexpensive) titles I own as "GH" titles gradually and replace them. Also curious about other changes that are not bugs/corrections (much like that 'Kill The Haitains" in that one game I can't remember...that it was removed). I am mostly thinking on the lines of PS1 and PS2 games, though XBOX, Saturn, GC, etc would also be nice. I am not referring to artwork differences, just game differences...

The Greatest Hits version of Silent Hill 2 added all of the extras from the XBox port.

I read somewhere that the GH version of Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Cortex has faster loading times than it's non-GH counterpart. (which is a good thing, because the loading times are horrible.)

On Loggins & Messina's Greatest Hits CD - Best Of Friends, They cut out the extended instrumental section of Angry Eyes.

But that's not what you are talking about.

The Silent Hill 2 GH for PS2 included the "Another Story" segment that was once an Xbox exclusive. :)

Then there's Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution, but I don't want to get into that extensive list.

GH for the PSOne differences include

Jurassic Park: The Lost World Special Edition (a Directors Cut of some sort, allowing for a playing the levels with other dinosaurs.)
Resident Evil: Directors Cut (though still missing some of the intended gore for the US release it was semi fixed, and included Dual Shock controling)

PS2
Twisted Metal Black (The later version comes with Twisted Metal Online)
Silent Hill 2 (has the bonus play as alternate character from the XBox one)
VF:Evo has 2 additional characters

The kill the Hatians thing was a GTA:VC thing, and Im not sure that they ever actually took it out, considering the number of units sold before the noise was made about it. Hitman 2 had a level changed due to politically charged issues and the potrayal of some Arabic people. Its tellable by the Hitman2 logo on the cover. The original release has a red 2 the re-release has a siver 2.

Im sure there are some more, give me some time to stew on it.

The initial shipment of GH Final Fantasy tactics didn't work on non-modded PSX's. They later fixed that.

Something's ringing a bell with either FF Anthology or FF Chronicles, but I can't remember what (or even if).

The Greatest Hits version of Silent Hill 2 added all of the extras from the XBox port.

I remember the minute that I read this fact (when it was originally released) I got up from my desk and work, spilled my coffee, and RAN down to the game store! GH version rules.

Jet Moto 2 had all the tracks from JM1 hidden by a code ... very cool.

Virtua Fighter 4 was never released as a Greatest Hits title, but Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution was, and it included the 10-year-anniversary game, much better graphics, and a revised Quest mode.

Twisted Metal Black included a TMB Online disc in the GH version.

Oh, how I love the GH line!

Virtua Fighter 4 EVO is an upgrade, it is different from Virtua Fighter 4. I love that Sega released it for $20 bucks. I wish it had better cover art though. I hate those red greatest hits bars. Other then that it's a good game, not as good as VF3, but it's fucking good!

Tomb Raider had a demo for the then-impending sequel when it became a greatest hits title.

Actually, Virtua Fighter 4 WAS released as a Greatest Hits title. I know this because I own it.

Yup, VF4 was certainly a non-GH release.

Soviet Strike PSX has an extra level of difficulty in GH.

To straighten up the VF4 issue:

Virtua Figher 4 was released as a standard issue, and later as a GH.

Virgua Fighter 4: Evolution (that's the key word) was ONLY released in GH packaging, despite being slightly different from it's predecessor.

castlevania: SOTN, anyone?
Word on the street is, you cannot exit the castle in the GH version. *Looks to PSX gurus PapaStu and Dangerboy for confirmation*
