This is the most that I have ever paid for a single game. It is also the rarest game that I (will) have. DP guide says $90. Would you have paid this much? Is my buyer's remorse founded or unfounded?

Ebay auction here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8145316402&ssPageName=STRK:MEAFB:IT).

PS: I voted "Yes" obviously, since I did pay that much. LOL

If you go by that the game is worth whatever you're willing to pay for it, you'll be fine. I'm sure it's something you wanted and worth it for you. I got my copy in the box 9 years ago for a dollar. This year I bought the instructions only on eBay for 35 dollars. That was definitely worth it for me. I got a complete R8 for a good price, and it's not a bad game to boot.

Absolutely. If nothing else, you can sell the game for almost twice that.

If you got it in the box, you can sell it for three times that :)

Except for a small run of sealed boxes that turned up about five years ago, the game is really really hard to find.

I almost got it off eBay a few years back but I don't forget what my top bid was (not enough) or what it went for. I haven't seen it since then though I really haven't been actively looking for it.

I just went to eBay and found they have 3 copies of this game currently up for auction. Current prices for the 3 are at $9.99, $150 and $200. I put a bid on the lowest-priced one but I'm not fooling myself. I doubt there's any way I can get this one but that's okay...

Nope - that's a fair price - and most importantly, YOU got what YOU wanted - can't put a price on that. Several weeks ago I had a bid for issue #1 of Electronic Games magazine (Jan 82 - I think) I had the bid up to about $45 bucks. Unfortunately, I lost the bid (I think I sold for around $60) and fortunately for my wife - I lost the bid. :)

ROFL - I hear ya - oh and btw, your wife is not allowed to converse with my wife - they might form some kind of support group ;) "Wives of Eager Collectors" or something.

And how many $100 pairs of shoes has she bought lately?
Some people need to think before they get "not happy".

That's the worst part, she NEVER buys anything for herself so her argument is both logical AND justified. Stupid logic. LOL

Meh.

Meteorites is just Asteroids. I'm a player; gimme rarities I'll play: Xari Arena, Qubes, Crazy Climber, Cubeivore, Bubble Bobble 2 ect....

If I found it for $1-5, I'd keep it.

Why not, it's about the same price as a new game and will hold its value much better. I don't even wanna say what I paid for 5200 Bounty Bob Strikes Back.

Tell your wife the name of two lousy movies you took her to, then say "it costs the same as that"
