If you've ever wanted to hear a unique perspective on the history of videogaming from the very men and women who created that history, this is for you.

One of the special features of Classic Gaming Expo is its two-day schedule of videogaming's icons and legends. The pioneers of our favorite hobby share their experiences about those early days of this industry, their interaction with their associates and management, and the challenge of going where no one had gone before. Presented here are the full recordings from last year's show.

Note: recordings are in both high and low quality audio, but note that even the low quality is very listenable! Get your broadband modems and media players ready for this.

Special thanks to Zach Meston for capturing the recordings from the event.

I just listened to Steve Wozniaks story about his achievements for the Gameboy version of Tetris in Nintendo Power. Since I had to look it up for the NP article in the upcoming DP 'zine: He's not only listed twice in the NES Achievers section, but also sent a pic of himself with his GB to NP. He is pictured in volume 20, p.6, in the reader letters section explaining that his newest high score was truly "high" because he played on a Concorde flight from New York to London.

Also, Cliff Blezinski, the founder of Epic games and the main designer of the Unreal Tournament series, is listed in volume 1 of NP (p. 99) for his high score in SMB. He must have been around ten years old back then.

Just a bit of trivia for NP fans. :)

The panels and speeches are great. From the funny stories and anecdotes to seroius Qs about game design and economic conditions of the early game developers, they are a great source of information. Thanks again for putting the audio files up!

My apologies in advance for the low-quality Vectrex recording. That particular clip wasn't recorded via the soundboard due to "technical difficulties": I pressed the wrong button on my recorder. In my feeble defense, it was the first keynote of the show, and I wasn't as familiar with my DV unit as I should've been. All other recordings are straight off the board.

No problem Zach, the others make the set well worth it.

All we need now is video! ;)

WOW!! Thank you so much!

I've listenened to the Activision and Woz keynotes. I love them!

I never get tired of listening to the Activision stories.

I wish I could've been there. It would have been great to hear all this in person.

I can't wait to see the video.

I downloaded them all, and just have them playing as I work on the computer. My media player has "resume" that works like a car CD player, so it starts right back up where I ended it. Works nicely.

Appreciate the effort very much. I have broadband but trusted Joe in that it was a good recording in low quality, so that's what I downloaded. Definitely a great audio quality.

Thank you very much. Nothing better than hearing the history from those that made it.

Thank you

I've listenened to the Activision and Woz keynotes. I love them!
I forgot to mention that I sent some questions to John Hardie to ask some of the Activision guys and they answered them (well 2 of them).

John, thank you so much for getting these questions to the guys for me. I know you all are extremely busy during the CGE and it means a lot to see you take the time to forward these for me.

I just found these tonight! I don't know how I missed these. X_x

Thanks to Zach and Joe for letting us hear these. I've just finished listening to the Activision one now, but I'm going to listen to some more tonight. Very much appreciated!
