View Full Version : Virtua Cop 3... Whats going on?

Last time I heard about Virtua Cop 3, SEGA decided not to port it (and OutRun 2...) to the Xbox because they would have to create new hardware... IGN still has the game listed as TBA release date (thats where I read the old cancelation news)...
Does anyone know if this game is going to come out? I was surpirsed when SEGA released OutRun 2, and that just shows they may be working on Virtua Cop 3... and a new Stunner for the Xbox ( :evil: I love my Stunner)

*IF* I remember correctly, I believe that Outrun 2 was released because Microsoft picked up some of the cost to publish the game. I could be wrong, but, I remeber reading about it in a game mag. I just can't remember what mag it was. The X-Box (all home console to be exact) are in dire need of *good* light gun games.

dunno why they never ported virtua cop 3, i was kinda looking forward to it after playing it in the arcade.....i read about it comin to xbox a while ago.....who knows

I just picked up O2 yesterday at EB for $14.99 (it's now $19.99, and they had a $5.00 off coupon... wooooot!) and it is amazingly good. If VC3 is anything near as quality, I can't wait to see it. HOTD3 did already get released (is it worth getting, by the way?)

It was. I think Virtua Cop 3 was as well.

I don't know...but holy crap is the arcade version of Virtua Cop 3 good. I'm tempted to get hte machine if they don't port it...

Just as a guess, I don't think Outrun 2 sold too well unfortunately, so I doubt that Sega is ready to roll out the carpet for another arcade port. I also don't think HOTD did so hot. If Sega had released their own gun, I think it would be different... but without that...

Light gun games on the XBox are few and far between because MS has stayed away from the drama that comes from gun games. All that "the game taught him to shoot people" stuff kept MS from releasing an official gun. The Mad Katz gun is the "official" gun for HotD3 but since thats the only game for the system thats all Light gun all the time, I think Sega is just playing it smart by not releasing something that isnt going to sell incredibly well (like all their other Xbox titles).
Id really love to get Virtua Cop 3 but my hopes arnt high. Hell I'm still waiting for Rent-A-Hero#1 which was suppose to have released last year...
