I haven't played a lot of arcade games, and my memory’s not too good either, so please bear with me.

I remember playing this game probably around 15 years ago. I’m pretty sure it was a tournament-style fighter, and it was definitely 2D. The thing I really liked about it was that one of the characters was a wizard who would always announce what spell he was casting in this overdramatic, Don Pardo like voice.
“ACID RAAAAAIN!”
“LLLLIGHTNING BOLT!”

Hmm...the only thing I can think of is either Solitary Fighter (http://www.arcade-history.com/history_database.php?page=detail&id=2495) or Holosseum (http://www.arcade-history.com/history_database.php?page=detail&id=1137), though I doubt it's either one.
