Hiya, my names David and I'm 16. I'm from Alberta, Canada. I found the forums when i was looking for game room pictures and found the godly room of doom section. I'm into new games and older stuff, though I don't have much of a collection yet. I'd like to collect pretty well everything but i think i will work a bunch on the Super Nintendo the most for now. I wanted to start collecting ever since i saw people with their massive collections, I find a way to enjoy almost any video game so i hope to get a collection half as good as all the ones out there.

Hello Everybody,
My name is Aaron, I am Italian and I will stay in the US for one year (maybe two). I am attending a Master in Laws in San Francisco.
I am 34 years old and I played with almost all systems during my life, starting with the Commodor Vic 20 and lasting with X Box 360 and Wii.
I have to admit that I don't really like the new systems and I am in love with the old ones.
Given that I don't have much money this year (I have to pay the tuition for the Master), I wanted to buy a videogame system here in the US and I was wondering which system I should have chosen.
Well, yesterday I went to the great Icarus Games in Berkeley and I bought a fantastic old NES system with four games:
Super Mario 3
Dr. Mario
Chip & Dale
RC...(I don't remember the name)
I am brand new in videogame collection. I always played with my videogames without any collection goal :-)
I am a comic book collector, thus I know what collecting items is about and I am really enjoying my new passion. I want to learn, to know, to share info with you and to have fun!
Many thanks!
Aaron
P.S. Any suggestion on places where I can find old games stuff here in SF or Berkeley is very much appreciated :-)

Favorite games would have to be Wild arms series until Wild arms 4 etc. and really any good RPG out there
Currently I collect PS2, PSone, Xbox, GC,Genesis, Dreamcast, Sega CD, SNES, and NES (not looking for completion just for a couple rare abd good ones
In real life I'm just a student who likes gaming to a hardcore level
Other things about me is that I HATE (with a passion) Xbox live sqeakers and kids who can't handle it mature or who take it too far.

Hello all,
I'm new here (yes a noob), but I've been browsing here for a while now and I thought I'd take the dive into this forum, it looks very cool.
Just a quick bit about myself, my name's Sel (short for something else, but that will come later), I'm from Leicester and I've been a gamer for around 22 years now. I still love my retro (retro, according to me that is!) games and machines and I'm still in the process of building my collection up. Just on the lookout for some stuff whilst I'm selling some Jap games on the old eBay to fund my habit ; )
My mates think I'm a bit bonkers (yep) for still playing games to this day but sod 'em. I enjoy it!
I own a few consoles, I'll do a quick list;

Megadrive 1+2

Sega Naomi with Jamma adaptor

Intel quad core q6600 overclocked to 13 GHz, 4 Meg Ram, nVidia 8800 Ultra Graphics card
I've probably missed a load of bits out, but I've got a lot of my stuff up in the attic in storage at the mo as I've bought the house off my parents (they've moved abroad) and I'm going to convert thier old room into a fully fledged games room (the arcade cab can stay in the garage as it doesn't even fit into the house!
I've been into gaming for years, I just love playing games, it would be my ultimate dream to be a games tester but alas, I'm working as a CCTV engineer.
Anyway, glad to be here and if you've got any questions, just fire away!
Sel.

Hello,
I am Jim. I am getting back into collecting after a very long hiatus. My main focus is NES games. So far I a found a few gems. Now that I am back to my old habits I am sure I will be around here quite a bit.
Hi,
My name is Romain, I'm 23 and I live in France. It's not my first time here as I was a member a few years ago but forgot my username/password.
I collect video games and consoles, I have about 40 systems and more than 400 games. I am also a BIG Shenmue fan.
I work in the gaming press (it was one of my childhood dreams) as the owner/editor in chief of a brand new videos games website. On it we talk about recent games but we also pay tribute to games of the past by doing retrogaming shows and uploading high quality videos of old games (on every system). The site is located as http://www.jv247.com
I also have to mention that two of my goals are to get my hands on a playable Saturn version of Shenmue and on a working Ultra 64 (I actually think that I made a topic about the Ultra 64 during my first stint here).
That's it for now, I'm looking forward to talking with you all.

Hey, DP!
all your base are belong to nashville, tn.
i'm into nes,snes,famicom,sfc,ngpc,dc currently.
active collecting most all of these, albeit passively for the neo-pocket and dreamcast.
im in for 140 snes games
9 sfc games
70+ nes games
24 dc
11 ngpc
4 famicom
14 Nintendo DS/GBA
Im into beat-em-ups, obscure jp platformers, party games, different and interesting rpg's and strategy (woot! fire emblem, advance wars etc.)
and have been collecting randomly for 2 years now. I love the fact that I can get all of the games that I so badly wanted in the late 80's and early 90's on the cheap, since price was the only reason keeping my mom from getting me many titles when i was little. talk about 'long overdue'.
hope to have fun, learn some things and hopefully get more out of the hobby in general by sharing with you guys!
happy holidays!

First of all I would just like to say I've been searching for a GOOD retro gaming forum for months, and I stumbled upon this one FINALLY last night. I'm very impressed with the layout and the maturity level of the members here, so I decided to join.
I'm only 20 years old, but I grew up in the 90's and had the luxury of playing the SNES and Genesis classics we all know and love; I'm obsessed with 16-bit gaming! My collection isn't very large but I'm getting into collecting more and more carts; an awesome retro gaming store just opened about 20 mins down the road from me and they have everything.
I love games like The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Castlevania; all the classics that made Nintendo so great. At the same time, I play gems like "Toe Jam and Earl Panic On Funkotron" for the Genesis (what I consider THE best Genesis title, and possibly the best platformer ever :) ), but I hope to learn a lot here! My thirst for all things classic gaming must be quenched, and this looks like the place to do so!
Again, awesome site dudes and thank you for supplying me with such awesome info!

Names Steven, live in Wayne New Jersey. Been gaming since mid to late 80's. Most of my collection consist of PC games but my console collection is quite nice. Been to the store a few times and to a few of those Nava Meetings. Great place, and nice to have a few arcades to play. Was in there earlier but they were shooting that movie "I assume it is" again. So really couldn't play on the arcades "seemed like an A-hole move to do". Will be around and hope to see some games I don't own yet show up in the store.

Helo Byron here :)
Gaming since the early 80's. My main focus these days is my PC Engine/Turbo Grafx, PSP, and DS. Next year begins my foray into Neo Geo MVS, andFamicom/FDS. Main genres are rpg's, and shumps (though not that great at em) ;) . Slowly rebuilding my Dreamcast, andSaturn collections with a much heavier lean on imports (as well as more inports for all my systems).

12-23-2008, 10:03 AM
Hello,
It is my first post on that forums and hopefully not the last! :)
- Who you are
I'm Youki , 36 year old. I'm the creator of AtomicFe Front End. I love coding , i created this FE , but also games (not yet released) and i decided now to do some archeo-coding , to release a dream i have since i'm young : "Produce my own video game cartridge".
- Where you live
In France, on the French Riviera somewhere between Monaco and Cannes
- How you found the forums
I was looking information on Colecovision development, and i found post of newcoleco.
- What your favorite games are
Human Canon ball on Atari VCS
Donkey Kong all systems
Populous (Atari St)
Metal Slug (Arcade)
Sega Rally (Arcade)
Ghost n Goblins (C64)
The list would be too long in fact...
- What systems you collect for
All , i own about 200 hundres old computer and console
- What you do in "real life"
Computer software development.
- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.
I started to collect while the machines was not yet collector, but just "old".
I have always been facinated by the "portage" of game from one machine to another. I like see the difference and what people does to workaround some plateform limitation. By this fact, i have been interrested of having other machine to see how games looks like. My first machine i got just to "collect" was an Oric Atmos (at this time i had a C64 and a PC XT).
To conclude, my favorites machines are :
Colecovision, Commodore 64, Atari 800XL, Dreamcast .

okay, let's see here, this is my first post, so I guess I'll answer some of the recommended questions:
- Who you are
My full name is Johnny Dorel Bud
- Where you live
I'm from the Atlanta area, in the state of Georgia obviously. Actually, a city just outside of Atlanta called Norcross.
- How you found the forums
I've been trying to find a decent rarity/price guide for all different kinds of games on Google for months now, and I finally found it!
- What your favorite games are
I love older games, but not very old, mainly SNES and N64. Donkey Kong Country is my favorite game ever.
- What systems you collect for
All systems, but mostly for the ones I own, obviously. My favorite to collect for would be SNES, but my largest collection is NES.
- What you do in "real life"
I'll be going to Georgia State University as of 2009
- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.
I got my first system, the SNES, when I was about 5 or 6. Been buying games and such for all my systems ever since, but I don't think I really got into collecting till maybe I was 12 or 13. I bought a used NES, and I discovered you could actually buy the games real cheap at thrift stores.
I guess that's about it for now.

Hey everyone, I'm DJ True Story
Aka Adam from California
I actually found these forums because I was thinking if something like this didn't exist, it should, and I'd have to start it. But it would seem someone has already done that... huge load off my back XD
As far as favorite games go... where to begin... Oddly enough the game that got me hooked was a game that was on... practically every system (Though I had it for Super Nintendo) called Out of This World (aka Another World) Before this game I liked video games, The mario bro games rock (I'm a huge fan of 1+2 (even though i guess technically it should have never been a mario game, i don't mind, i actually like it) + 3 + world + world 2 + 64 for that matter... even though I've jumped a bit into the future and probbably stopped making since) the zelda games were cool, Spot, Cool Spot, Alterd Beast, Sonic the Hedgehog 1-3, Bust a Move, megaman soccer, megaman 1-6, Michael Jordon: Chaos in the Windy City (don't you judge me XD), Mario Kart, Biker Mice from Mars, The teenage muntant ninja turtle games for NES, Metal Marines, Super Mario RPG, ... you know what, you can't really get me started on my favorite games without getting a long long list, but what stoped my like of video games and started my love/collecting would have to be Out of This World... it's elegance and beauty mixed with challenging unique gameplay, the entire thing made by virtually one man... it's amazing.. Later games like Ocarina of Time and FFVII (as cliche as that is) made me <3 games for life. *cough*San Francisco Rush: 2049 4 dreamcast + Burnout: Revenge for 360*cough*
As far as systems I collect for, the main ones would have to be Super Nintendo (as my game count is around 200 for it, about 30 boxed, 5 sealed, my rarest SNES game is my copy of Star Fox: Super Weekend). After that is my NES that i have about 100 games for, only about 10 boxed, and a VGA 80 Sealed Final Fantasy, which is probbably the gem of that collection overall (although I'm currently playing through MC Kids, so that one is pretty treasured right now too, in a completely different way) After that would either be my atari or genesis collections (about 50 games each, athough I'd have to say the genesis wins because about 30 of the 50 have boxes/manuals)
As for real life, I'm a full time med student. I'm 21 years old and on my way to become a Psychiatrist MD. I want to work for a hospital, be the Psychiatrist on staff, meet/help people, get a doctors salary but never have to preform a single operation, just talk to people and try to be understanding... But med school is very stressful, and video games have always been my escape. My favorite games are co-op games, I was an only child of a single parent, living in a small ass town, so playing thru video games with someone else has always been kinda a rarity to me. My favorite Co-op games I've played through are Final Fantasy: Crystal Cronicles (with everyone having GBAs and 4 people playing through, that game is amazing) and also Army of Two... loved that game.
That's about it, I'm an open book. There's nobody else like me in my town, nobody else that collects old games or still plays them, I live in a forrest/elderly community small town... so nobody collects video games, although now and again someone will throw out a box of old games for 10 bucks at a yard sale, and I'm the only one buying... but I'm glad there's someone else like me. I always just did it... me and my mom lived in a small house and we didn't have much for money, so when things like the N64 came out, I got really excited, not because I was getting an N64, but because the neighbor kids would be throwing their super nintendo games away for nickles and dimes. I ended up with everyones games, got the money from mowing their parents lawns XD. And in one way or another I've basically been doing the same thing ever since. I currently going through a major change in the way I collect though, I used to just be into carts... but after seeing so many collections online I've discovered I really like the boxes/artwork/posters. So I'm going to step up my game and start to collect boxed games, probbably sell off my unboxed games to make profit to do so. That's it for me, just basically glad to be here :)

Hi guys, I'm Zach from Nebraska.
I've been gaming since I was young, the NES came out when I was 2 though I didn't start playing until about 4 years after that. I've been interested in starting a collection for a while now and I recently found out about Digital Press by watching some of the videos on Retroware TV, so my brother and I both decided to begin collections. Currently we're both collecting classic Game Boy games and I'll also be doing the Neo Geo Pocket, as I'm a huge SNK fan.

I'm Mike. I found this site while searching for ways to properly catalog my collection. I'm 28 and from the Boston area, I'm a musician and I spend most of the year on tour. I've been a fan of video games my whole life, but only a true collector the past few years.
I collect for just about any system, but lately I've been focusing on 32x and Saturn. I have a fondness for the PS1/Jaguar/3DO generation of gaming, but my first system was Intellivison and I appreciate all games.
Some of my favorites:
(in no particular order)
Diablo 1 & 2
the Final Fantasy series
Rygar (NES)
Aliens Vs. Predator 2 (PC)
the Castlevania series
...and many more.
I'm here to share and gain knowledge of archaic and current games and systems. Happy to join a forum of like-minded people!

I'm Sean, a food scientist from California.
I collect and write about old video games, but I have a particular fondness for the bad ones - you know, the video games that are so awful you can't help but laugh at how bad they are.
Some of my favorite games (which are actually good) are:
Final Fantasy Legend I, II and III for the Game Boy
Secret of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3 for the SNES
Final Fantasy 6 for the SNES
Final Fantasy Tactics for the PSX
Fire Emblem and Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones for the GBA
I'm here to find out more about awful retro games so that I can write about them. But I'm also hoping to connect with a group of gamers who can see everything that's great about retrogaming. Cheers!

I am getting back into collecting along with my bro, I am going to start rounding up all of the classic gameboy games. I am going to keep this short and I look forward to interacting with everyone on here. Ohh and my favorite game is Super Metroid. Hello all, my name is Alex from Ontario.
I started gaming at about age five when I received my NES as a christmas present. From that point on I've been hooked and now that I'm done college it's time to stock up on games :D went from NES > SNES > N64 > PC and now back to the NES and SNES again.
My favourite games being Star Fox, Super Mario World and Rock 'n Roll Racing.
I found this forum when trying to find reviews of the Retro Duo console. (I have the orginals of course)
Phyeir
01-02-2009, 12:01 AM
Hello all,
I go by Phyeir for anything that I do online (well, for game playing). I've been collecting for about 4 years now and playing video games basically for longer than I can remember. My first memory is actually of playing Atari 2600 Pac-Man with my father at the age of 3.
So far, I'm at about 22 systems and 930 games and counting. As said earlier, I've only been collecting seriously for about 4 years now. I've loved video games my entire life, but my parents were never big fans of video games (they were in that whole video games are evil group of parents) but they broke down and go me an SNES years ago, which I still have. That was the only system I had until Gamecube (besides portables) and I'm basically playing catch up for all of the things that I've wanted to play for all those years.
As a collector, I'd call my collection a playing collection. What that means to me is that I'm only really interested in games that I'd actually take the time to sit and play. If not, I'm pretty much going to skip over it. I am starting to get into the acquisition of rarer titles, but haven't taken any steps towards that (mortgage, marriage, and student loans will slow the progress down fast).
For this year, I'm looking to make huge gains on 8-32bit generation, with the largest emphasis on SNES. I only have 45 games for the system and even though that includes games like Megaman X-X3, DKC 1-3, Secret of Mana & Evermore and some other highly desired games, there are many MANY more that I don't have and am looking forward to getting ahold of.
Hi everyone,
I am Kain and living south of UA =) I collect for PlayStation games and consoles. My favorite games are Crash Bandicoot series, Legend of Mana and Vanguard Bandits. In real life I am a student and studying for lawyer. Collecting the PlayStation games and stuff is my hobby. Also, I am fond of Japanese culture, like anime/manga/traditions and sakura!
In 1998 I received my first videogame console, PlayStation and from that time I am searching more information about that one and collect my favorite games and stuff, what I interested in.

I'm Marcos, I'm 16 and I live in Portugal. I found the forums by googling 'collecting videogames', because I wanted to get some tips. My favourite games of all time are the MGS series, the Ratchet & Clank series, the God of War series and Resident Evil 4. Now I collect for PS2 and PS3. In "real life" I'm a student. I didn't really strated collecting, I just have games that I've been buying along the years (close to 100). A couple of months ago I made my first investment on my collection by buying a Master System II and a Mega Drive II (my second one, the other one is broken :S). I plan of starting to buy more things when I start working this Summer.
If you want to chat with me just send me a PM. See you on the forums!

Hello everyone,
I'm a college student going for an English major and I live in northern New Jersey so I stop by DP fairly often. My first system was the NES and I've been playing video games since a little before I was 2. My collection is currently up to about 700 games (I haven't counted in a while though so that's a fairly rough estimate) and I play pretty much anything except sport games and the majority of racing games, but my favorite type of games are RPG's. I don't have a particularly favorite system, but I would have to say if I had to choose I would pick either the NES or the SNES (the former for the wide variety of truly difficult and unique games, the latter for having many of my favorite RPG's). I mostly collect games to play them for fun, but my main quirk in terms of collecting is I like to try to find games that are very weird (such as Stretch Panic) and games that are very bad (for example, Shadow Madness). The main qualities I look for in games are they have to either be very challenging (I hate games that hold your hand the whole way through) or are very unique (the Katamari series comes to mind); a strong story is also something I look for, but only in RPG's. I would have to say that one of the stupidest things I have ever done was when I was like every other easily excitable little kid who knew nothing about rarity (and certainly not about thinking things through) I sold nearly 100 NES games all at once for something like $2 each (often less) for a shiny new N64; thankfully I have tracked down and gotten back the vast majority of them and don't plan to let them go again anytime soon.
I don't have a particular favorite game for most systems, but for anyone interested here's a quick list of the games I'm sure are my favorite on their respective systems:
SNES: Final Fantasy 6 (also my favorite game overall)
Gamecube/Wii: their respective Smash Bros. games
N64: Mischief Makers
Genesis: another amazing Treasure game, Gunstar Heroes
Xbox: Panzer Dragoon Orta
360: Lost Odyssey
Gameboy (original): Dragon Warrior/Quest Monsters 2
NES: this is pretty close since there are so many good games on the NES and I know the game is a Megaman clone but I have to go with Bucky O'Hare
To put things in a much more condensed form: I like collecting and playing a wide variety of games for both old and new systems and have been a gamer for pretty much my entire life. Also, I tend to write very long and wordy posts on forums fairly often, so sorry in advance to anyone that reads those in their entirety.

- Who you are
Go by puLawman or Cash, real name is Cody
- Where you live
Live in the miserable region of northern Indiana
- How you found the forums
I'm a forum addict and really wanted to participate in forum about retro gaming, a couple words into trusty ol' Google and viola....digitpress
- What your favorite games are
I have a lot of favs, but those that stand out most are usually fighting games or adventure/platform games
*Tobal No.1/2
*Street Fighter franchise
*Crash Bandicoot 1/2
*Super Mario World
*Genesis Sonic series
- What systems do you collect for?
Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation 1/2, Snes, GB/GBA
- What you do in "real life"
Recent graduate of Purdue University...now working in the automotive manufacturing industry and hopefully returning to school full time next fall.
- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.
I purchased a Genesis console last year after remembering all the great child hood memories that I had playing games on these legacy systems. Well, I went on a buying frenzy and now I own a Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, Snes, and a DS (GBA). I'm having great times finding good deals on classic games. My wife and I also tend to have more fun playing these old games than we do playing my Xbox 360 and PS3.
My name is Maus, I'm 26 and live in LA. As of now, I am studying for the LSAT. Some of my favorite games are Balloon Fight, Bubble Bobble, and anything Zelda or Castelvania (specifically SOTN). This place seems cool, I hope to spend some time posting here.

Hello everybody,
My name is Brian and I've always been a gamer, but it wasn't untill recently that the nostalgic bug hit me and I started collecting all the systems and games from when I was a kid including the NES, SMS, and Genesis. I also have a 360 and Nintendo DS. My favorate games of all time include Sonic 2, Legend of Zelda 1+2, Megaman 2, Ninja Gaiden, and more recently Rock Band. I look forward to posting a bunch around here as it seems to be full of a bunch of geeks such as myself lol.

My other post is extremely old and inaccurate. I dunno what I was thinking. Metal? I freakin hate metal. Must have had my genres confused.
Anyway, I'm Nirvana. My real name is Lyle. I'm a college student, and I'm working real hard for the future just like all of you guys ^_^ Hopefully.
Video games, you ask? I grew up on RPGs. It was crazy. When I was 5, my brother enabled for two players in Final Fantasy III on the SNES (technically FFVI). I would be Edgar and Cyan. Oh so fun. But when I hit high school, my love for RPGs seemed to disappear. I got more into sports games and mainstream games, like NFL 2k5 and Halo. I think this was because I was really developing as a human being in general. I learned how to play guitar and finally put my natural speed to use as I played football and joined track.
Recently, I got back into RPGs as I am currently going through the Legend of Dragoon.
When I came to this forum, I noticed everyone was extremely mature as opposed to other message boards. There are NEVER any memes said by anyone. It's insane. And I love it.

*Phantasy Star series
*Castlevania series
*Mega Man series
*Resident Evil series (and anything else involving zombies)
*Silent Hill series
*Zelda series
*Final Fantasy series until 8
*16-bit era RPGs
*Saturn shmups (I have yet to acquire Radiant Silvergun)
- What systems do you collect for?
My dream is to one day have a house with dedicated game room with the old systems and games I used to enjoy as a kid, and discover and play systems and games I didn't have that I wanted back then and can now afford since I'm now all growed up with a job and stuff, heh. I also want a Neo MVS or candy cab, a Galaga/Pac-Man cocktail table, and an 80's USA. vs. Russia "bubble-dome" style hockey table like they had at my local Showbiz Pizza when I was little.
- What you do in "real life"?
As far as work goes, I.T., call center, tech support, if it has to do with computer and technology, I probably do it, or have done it. Other hobbies include going to movies and concerts, comics, collecting toys and action figures, slowly build up my DVD and Laserdisc collection, reading and spending time and playing games with my soon to be wife.
- What got you into collecting?
I guess it started back in 2001. I got one my first "real jobs" and was making decent money for the time, and I was reading a Penny Arcade comic where they referenced the Neo-Geo. I remembered how much I used to love playing games like Fatal Fury and Samurai Showdown at the arcade, and that there was a place I used to go to with a friend that rented out AES consoles and games. So I started doing research on the Neo online to see how much AES systems and games were then, and saw that they were affordable (except for the super rare ones of course). I found the Neo-Geo.com site, became a member, met some people, and in a couple of weeks, I had a Neo AES and KoF2000, SS2, SS3, 3 Count Bout, and the rest is history. Now I'm trying to start on a Sega collection, mainly Genesis, CD, 32X, Saturn and imports, and Dreamcast and imports. I also have a 360 currently RRODed, and a Wii, which my wife and I play more VC games than Wii games on, lol.

Drusilla
01-19-2009, 03:51 PM
Hi everyone out there.
I'm Drusilla from ST-Hubert, Quebec, Canada better known as frog land.
I am also female of the species, is there lots of us out there?
My boyfriend undead455 has sucked me into gaming and now to this very cool and huge website.
My favorite games so far are, all the guitar hero's, rock bands, any version of tetris out there and the highly addictive rainbow colored pinatas. I think i like them cause they are close to pony's.
I don't have any systems myself because they all belong to undead455, i am allowed to play but not touch. LOL I still say it is wrong because i have given him a lot of those systems as presents. I shouldn't complain because i am supporting his habit and i know full well the effects of my actions.
In the real life world (which is not as fun as the gamer or pony world) i proofread orders for a promotional company. We sell all kinds of pens, pencils, clocks, picture frames and stuff for the office. You know those promotional items given out at E3, my work makes those.
My love of life is collecting my little pony's and i was thrilled to find out and buy the pony game for the ds. Undead455 just loves it when my pony's filter into his video game collection.
Together we have this cool website www.undead455.com where you can see a million pictures of my pony collection and his video game collection.
The newest addition to our family is a little boy named Phoenix Aka Moo. I am sure he will grow up never wanting a video game in his life. The only question is who will get to play first? I'm sure my boyfriends and sons Christmas list will have the same stuff listed on it.
I hope to meet new people on here and learn some things about games, i cant help but play video games now.
I have been assimilated.

Game Freak
01-19-2009, 07:13 PM
Hello, I am Game Freak. I can't tell you my real name. It would be too dangerous. The Controllers are everywhere. Everywhere. And if they knew my real name, they could find me and my friends, and then...well, let's just say I don't want them to find me. What they do to people who resist them is too horrible to think about.
I won't even tell you where I live. You'll just have to trust me that it is a real place, a real town.
It may even be your town.
I'm writting this all down so that more people will learn the truth. I found these forums through my friends VACRMH, SnowKitty, and JamesF over at RFGeneration. I am 15 years old, and I greatly enjoy Super Nintendo games. Now I know what you're thinking ."Oh my god he's such a poser he should be playing XBAWKS." You know what? I hate Xbox. I dont have one. I dont plan on getting one, unless I must to get Resident Evil 5. I am not a fanboy either. I grew up on a Super Nintendo throughout my childhood and got a game i could call my own in 1998 when i got pokemon. Then started the pokemon craze. I collect pokemon stuff (From the first generation at least) and my videos can be found below. I got a PS2 in 2001. I played it for hours and hours. Dark Cloud, ICO, Jak and Daxter, MetropolisMania. All great games. I havent been able to find much time recently though with high school and what not. I do however, still buy many many games at yard sales, garage sales, flea markets, and the like. I currently have 627 video games. I have a Microsoft Access database of them, if anyone would like to look through my collection.
I have an Atari 2600, two TRS-80 CoCo 2s (16k and 64k), an Atari 5200, three NESes, two Genesis, a SNES, a PlayStation, an N64, a PSOne, two PS2s (one's the family's) two gamecubes, and two Wiis (one's the family's.) I also have a Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, four game boy colors, two GBAs, three GBA SPs, a Nintendo DS, and 6 Game Boy Micros (long story short, I took advantage of a pricing error, and plan to sell them on eBay eventually....)
I collect for SNES, and occasionally NES. My favorite games are SNES games, NES games, Mario games, PS2 games, and the Zelda series, which I completed US Nintendo releases of, with the exception of some rereleases. I don't read many books, but you can probably tell from the content of this post what I do read. In "real life" I'm a student, and I also write music for a game my school is working on. I have also been writing a book of my own, but it's going to be a long time before its finished. I also play video game songs on the piano, currently working on improving the performance of The Zelda Theme.
I hope to be around in the future to chat. Thanks for listening. feel free to send welcome PMs ^_^
Oh, by the way, I love 80s music and movies, and really like the music of Daft Punk and Michael Jackson.

Hello,
I'm Eduardo, from São Paulo, Brazil. I've found digitpress.com in a link at an ebay auction (the seller said his item was S7 and to check it here).
I'm a huge fan of Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Dragon Quest and Super Mario.
I don't consider myself a collector but I do have some uncommon stuff.
In "real life" I study Civil Engineering, I work with Finances in an international agroindustrial corporation and I'm also a kart driver.
Thanks for the attention!

My name is mobiusclimber... I know a couple people on here from risingstuff and gametz and various places. I'm not quite sure what drove me to sign up here... being an online and Craigslist seller, as well as an avid collector, I have my share of beefs w/ the prices listed in the online rarity guide. But I DID register and here I am.
Soooo... let's see....
Favorite Games:
Phantasy Star series - I'm going to be cheating a lot and list series when applicable, and in this case it is since I like every single game in the series. III is my least favorite and IV is my most favorite, cliched opinion, I know but there's good reason it's so cliched.
Silent Hill 1 & 2 - Great, mature storylines and generally creepy atmosphere would be why I love these two games. Any game that can shock me as much as these two did earns a place in my cold, black heart.
Final Fantasy series - except for 8 and most of the spinoffs (barring FFT). My favorites are (in this order) FFVI, FFVII, FFX. I particularly loved the sequence with Cid in FFVI, which is why I always recommend the SNES/Sufami version of this game over the remakes. THEY REMOVED THE FAST MOVING FISH!!! I mean I know what happens here when you give him the slow ones is the canon storyline, but by making it the player's decision, the game makes you feel like it's YOUR FAULT. That's pretty damn important.
Suikoden I, II, III - because I haven't played the others yet, mostly.
Shadow Hearts I & II - Koudelka comes so close to being included, but there's just too many flaws. I like the first SH over the second, and think Koudelka had the best compact story... such a shame the gameplay wasn't better.
Ico - This is what 3D Zelda should have been like!
Legend of Zelda, LoZ Link to the Past & LoZ Link's Awakening - Haven't had as much fun w/ the other ones that I've played, but these are all ace.
Splatterhouse series - Saw the first one when I was a wee youngun and had to have the sequels (by the time my family was looking to buy a console, the TG16 was deader than General Falicimo Francisco Franco). I have to say tho, I'm not looking forward to the resurrection of this series. Definitely looks like one corpse that shouldn't have become zombiefied.
... I should stop now, I could go on for days.
What systems do I collect for? A simpler question to answer would be, what do I collect? I mainly collect RPGs with a smaller sprinkling of games from other genres that have just held my interest for longer than five minutes. And console only. What this means is that I do not own an Atari, Collecovision or the like and don't plan to. Everything from the NES on up is fair game. The mostly-RPGs rule is why I'm not too interested in Neo-Geo (tho I'd love a cab) or Jaguar, or stuff like that.
So that's it, since this is way too long as it is. If you read all that... sorry.

Hello everyone!
I'm nathan, 38, tattoo artist in Durham NC. I've been gaming since Pong (radio shack knock-off) in the 70's and I am just getting back into collecting.
I had a massive collection that I sold off when I made a cross country move (Michigan to North Carolina). You'd be surprised at the logistics of moving thousands of games, piles of consoles and untold amounts of gaming parephenalia... it really adds up fast.
I have owned every system (complete with variants) except two. NeoGeo and Fairchild. This basically comes down to the fact that I avoid armchair collecting and I have never found either in the wild (I've seen NeoGeos for crazy money, but I've never laid eyes on a Fairchild Channel f). I love the hunt and every piece of gaming history that I have owned has come from haunting thrift stores, flea markets, garage sales etc.
I picked up a couple NES consoles recently solely due to the fact that I found some rare-ish games that I couldn't pass up...I will only buy games if I have the matching console. It's called "justifying". I then bought an Atari Junior (which is also on the can't pass up list) and a pile of carts...some more Nintendo, more Atari... the fever has taken hold.
I found this site linked on Topless Robot in reference to a certain NES prototype hoax...Great stuff, had to get in on the fun.
Some other pertinent facts about me: I have an 11 year old son that I carefully bred and trained to hone his gaming abilities and now he has powers greater than I could have imagined.
I also collect vintage toys (Gi Joe, Mego, Johnny West and some oddball foreign stuff). I also like to post long winded and verbose replies on internet message boards.;)

Hello Everyone,
My name is Brent. I am a 27 year old Programmer in Sudbury Ontario, Canada. I found these forums while doing research about online gaming on consoles before the PS3 and Xbox 360. My favorite games of all time has to be Maniac Mansion and Super Mario World. I don't have a collection per say, but I do still own a SNES and Colecovision that I still play from time to time. My main intrests lie in retro gaming accessories, specifically accessories that allowed consoles to communicate with each other or allowed remote connections from older consoles.
I would love a satellaview and I hope to be able to buy one in the next year.

I'm a Canadian. I speak Japanese and worked briefly as a translator so I mostly play Japanese games to stay sharp. They feel like less of a waste of time that way.
I went back to school a few years ago so most of my collection is in storage back at home but (somewhere) I have:
NES (Original and a knock-off famicon)
SNES
GB GBA GBASP
DS (Jap)
PSOne (Jap)
Ps2 (Jap and US)
PSP (Jap)
Xbox
Dreamcast
Game Gear
NeoGeo Pocket
Wonderswan Colour
I had a Japanese Saturn (one of the rare phillips ones) and a Japanese Gamecube but I got rid of them. I'm only really into stuff that I played (or wanted) when it was new.
Some of the highlights of my game collection are all the main Final Fantasy games, almost all of the Dragon Quests, nearly all the Marios, Downtown (Japanese River City Ransom), Ikaruga, most (all?) the square games for the WS, stacks of Japanese PS1 stuff. I've sold most of the pricey stuff I had, I'm more of a gamer than a collector. I just prefer the classics

- I'm SHERBO64, don't ask how that came to be, don't really remember.
- I live in Melbourne, Australia, so I import a lot of games to get them at the right time.
- My favourite games are probably the zelda and banjo series', but I've been entering a JRPG phase.
- Most of my games are for n64, but i have no real focus with collecting, anything that interests me I'll pick up. I don't go back to before snes though, I'm only seventeen so it doesn't really interest me, coming before my time, but maybe when i get a job and more money...
- Outside of my virtual worlds I'm a student in my final year of High School, so don't expect a great deal of activity until the end of the year when exams finish! :-D

Hey,
How is it going, I have been posting alot lately so figured I would introduce myself. Duo-R, I am an old school Turbografx / PC Engine fan (screename is of my favorite PCE console).
I have been a part of the Turbo community for a while, primarily I specialize in various mods. You can check my website here:
http://www.geocities.com/duo_r@sbcglobal.net
if you ever googled region modding or other mods for the Turbo, my name has probably popped up. I have the same username in various old school gaming forums out there.
I also have all 3 next gen systems currently on the market. Lately all the new systems don't get played very much since I have been doing alot of retrogaming (and modding).
Mods include region mods for most of the systems I listed above (old school), LED mods, and RGB mods. If you do some searches on here, I have posted a couple of the things I have done.
Some of the questions:
- Who you are - Duo------R
- Where you live - Norcal
- How you found the forums - Google searches
- What your favorite games are - TG-16/PCE
- What systems you collect for - SNES, Saturn, Genesis, TG-16/PCE
- What you do in "real life" - what I don't do in my fake life
- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc. - Some of that info is listed above. 1st system was a Atari 2600.

My name is Andrew. I actually signed up awhile ago (Around the time of the classic Nerd/Captain S/Critic battle. I was there. I'm the chubby short guy in the glasses on the left when Doug walks in :-D) Been gaming since I was 5. Owned (and still do own) these systems:
Sega Master System (Not sure if I still have this)
SNES (Best of all time)
Sega Genesis (With a Master System converter)
N64
PSX (Which I neglected for the longest time until recently. I played FF VII for the first time last month...I'M 23! :embarrassed:)
Game.Com
Game Gear
Game Boy Color
Original Game Boy (Don't know if I still have this)
PS2 (Traded this for some SNES games)
Nintendo Wii (Gave this to my sister. I'm at college and I have a small dorm room.)
360
May get a PS3 in the future. Don't know.
I'm also autistic (Parents found out I had Asperger's when I was little.) Despite that, I was able to graduate with a Regents diploma and could have a Bachelor's in 2 years. Not bad for someone in my situation.

Hey every1, I'm from México, I've been a retrogamer for a while (since the NES appeared... but back then it wasn't called "retrogaming"), I actually knew about this site looking for "overlooked snes games". I just found it great to be part of a community of people who likes the same (or almost the same) stuff I'm into.
There are many games I'd call "my favourite ones", the list would be long, but I can say that I'm a big fan of the original mega man series, battletoads, zelda, star fox, etc... I'll post some of my collection later.
I consider myself a snes game collector, but I also collect NES, game boy, N64 & game cube games.
I used to play a lot, and I mean, A LOT of SNES games about 15 years ago, then, something made me stop, and here I am again, I guess I get nostalgic and I feel like I'm younger again, also, I think that games were much better back then, when, graphics weren't the most important deal. Games used to be much more creative, simple and addictive, you could beat 'em in just minutes, and have a great time.

Greetings fellow retro gamers! Glad to find a forum where I don't get looked at like a Martian for mentioning anything older than the PS2.

- 2x Sega Genesis Model 2.

- 1x Sega Dreamcast.
- 1x Sega Master System.

- 1x Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
- 1x Nintendo 64.
- 1x Atari VCS.
- 1x Sony PlayStation.
- 1x Sony PlayStation 2.
- 1x Sony PlayStation Portable.
- 1x Nintendo Game Boy.

And those are just the ones I can see as I type this. I also own an interesting third-party peripheral:

Anyway, glad to join the forums. Here's to the games of yore!

My name is Andrew, I'm 27 and I live in Southern Virginia. I have lurked on this site for around 5 years but never posted. I love old school games but I also love my Nintendo DS. I have some neat things in my collection including a Turbo Duo and several NES and SNES cart reproductions.
I look forward to posting here.
Hi guys, I'm Paul and I live in Southern California.
I found these forums when searching the web for feedback on the FC Mobile and now I read just about every post trying to get into the minds of retro and modern gamers.
My favorite games of all time are Duck Hunt, Earthbound and Street Fighter.
In "real life" I work for a video game company named Hyperkin. I'm in sales and I specialize in retro gaming, feedback for product design, packaging, price point, etc is run through me.
hey, my name's maxi, 14 years old...seems I am kinda young for ths forum.
But I am a hardcore classic gamer. I was introduced to games by my mum at around 4 years old when we got the snes. From there i started to play the nes, and then the atari, and well....now i'm hoocked. My spelling is kinda terrible, but I hope I can be a great part of this site.
Well as i said, my names Maxi.
I live in the USA, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.
I actually found them while doing a search for line rider track codes. I found that there was a thread about it (very dissapointed that i found none) But I decided this looked like a cool place to stay for a while.
My favorite games would have to be Double dragon (nes) And the twisted metal series.
I don't for say collect anything for any system. I do go to alot of flee markets were I actually just bought about 50 nes games, and a new nes (my old one blew up while playing an intense 5 hours of who framed roger rabbit)
What i do in real life? Well i skate board, play games, and well.....go to middle school. I am in the 8th grade and am currently learning about graphic designs, and how to program. I play trombone in the band here, a drag really.
As i said before, not exactly collecting, but more just...enjoying. I started becuse of my mom, and still do it today. I sadly have no online play experience, as dial-up does not work well with being hocked up to anything.
Well, that's me in a nut shell. I hope to become a well liked member of this great community.

Hi! My name is Ryan Cook and im from Southern Vermont. Im currently attending college in Burlington, VT. Majoring in Digital Filmmaking with a minor in Game Design.
I found the forums while I was browsing about classic gaming online. I immediately fell in love with the Concept (Being an old school gamer but also having a love for newer stuff). So i joined :P
Some of my all-time favorite games are the Original MegaMan series and Sonic CD. As well as all the other retro sonic games. Also, I love Super R-Type for the SNES, great childhood memories.
I collect for and own most every major retro and current console. My collection consists of NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, Playstation, PS2, Sega Master System, Genesis, Saturn, SCD, Dreamcast, NDS, GBA, GBASP, Sega Nomad and Gameboy Pocket. My favorites however are the NES and the Genesis.
In real life, im a cashier at Shaws Supermarkets while I earn my degree in school.
I've been collecting since I was thirteen (roughly six years), I already had a good foundation since I owned most of them growing up. I just have a deep love for retro gaming, the current stuff just dosent have the same soul the old games had.
Well, thats me! :D:band:ROFL

My name is Todd and I like to party. I live on the side of a mountain. It's about an hour outside of Knoxville, TN.
I found the forurms while I was looking up random information on old NES games.
My favorite games:
Arcade: Robotron 2084
Single Player: Disgaea 2
Two Player (PvP): Super Mario Kart
Two Player (Co-op): Contra
Multiplayer, one system: Team Buddies
Multiplayer, online: Team Fortress 2
I collect for several systems. I am the most serious about my NES collection, but I have pretty decent Super NES and Atari 5200 collections. I've got most mainstream systems. The collection I'd like to work on beefing up is my Sega Saturn collection, although games are very hard to find here for some reason.
I am a derelict in real life.
I played Atari before I could walk. I got a Nintendo when I was four I've been collecting games since. I got a headstart on the collecting bandwagon because I never had enough money for a Playstation growing up. (I didn't get one until the PS2 was out and Playstation prices dropped to almost nothing) But I could easily afford to pick up NES and SNES titles at the Pawn Shop for a few bucks each. That's really when I started getting serious about collecting.
