At first I thought your title read, "sLickest". I then looked and saw the pictured and thought that you were pretty messed up! I was relieved when I re-read it LOL

That game is fucked up. What I think is worse though is how much the guy who reviewed it liked it.

I donno at first from the screenshots I thought this would be a horrible ant-american game, but in the review it says your DEFENDING the towers from planes, so it doesn't seem THAT bad. Is Metal of Honor bad because you kill Nazis?

Even so... the title screen has 2 towers, a plane and an explosion.... enough said imo!

Agreed! They could have chosen a better topic (Stop Janet Reno from eating Elian Gonzalez  ) But, the game itself is pretty neat in all its simple glory.

What's up with hug & kiss, when you just want to write KILLL!
Either way the game is ill.

Agreed. I think the game is almost patriotic. You're defending the towers. I've never understood the idea that tragedies are taboo to revist, etc. A game where you crash your plane into the towers would be in bad taste. But this, meh, it's not much worse than a game like Conflict: Desert Storm that puts recent military conflicts in videogame form (and yes, I consider 9/11 to be a military conflict).

There are many sick games out there yes. I remember there was a first person shooter game for PC where u could shoot negros. When you did you heard monkey sounds. I never played it myself, only heard about it.
I try to avoid all these sick games because they just make you ill :(
Ive tried the suicide bomber game nes-o-holic mentioned (macromedia flash game, if thats the game you mean).
I played it alittle, but didnt look at it as a suicide bomber. Looked at it as a game where you had to get most points. Its the same with mortal kombat for example. When you think of what it realy is, its a pretty sick game. But i guess most people dont think about what it realy is, and its only a game.

You guys should check out a game called 'Damage' for the Amiga. Basically a homebrew, although it's professional quality. You basically play a psycho killer who tries to take out as many people as possible, and then the president, and eventually the world. It's pretty fun and has hilarious lemmings-like graphics. Although the game is in terrible taste, in many ways it's the predecessor to the GTA games.
PS- I have the manual if anyone decides to play the game and is confused about the controls or what to do.

So a game w/ two towers, a plane and an explosion is bad but a game with a guns, drugs, raping and killing like GTA is ok?

While I doubt I would play it myself, I see nothing wrong with this. And I wouldn't see anything wrong with it even if you were playing the other side of the coin. Would it be in poor taste? Possibly, but it could be done artfully too.
Like it's been mentioned before, we play murderers, rapists, and terrorists in plenty of other games. It's ok to perpetrate atrocities as long as it's against others, but not against "ourselves"? It's ok to wipe out the evil Nazis but not the infidel Yanks?
*shrug*
I'm not trying to say this is the Schindler's List of video games, but the reliving of horrors, whether through books or movies, has always been a part of culture, so why not video games?

I feel that the person who created this thread overreacted.
As was pointed out several times already, you seem to have no qualms about terrorising 'the other,' but you take offense when 'the other' terrorises your own kind. If that isn't a double standard, tell me what is.
Am I the only one who remembers those Desert Storm games that EA published in the early 90s?

Yeah, like this: http://www.fema.gov/kids/games/tsunami/
Yeah, see, I find this Tsunami site even more discouraging for our children. At first, it tookme a while to figure out that the garbage can was a place to put stuff, as I am from San Francisco, and I kept trying to put the trash in the ocean. I didn't want to give up though, because before I started playing, I was promised a Cyber Prize if I completed it. After wiping my brow and pushing forth, I strted arranging the dirty beach to look more like the beaches in Oregon. and Voila! I perfected the art of picking up litter to be surprised with a.....dancing frog? WTF is this!
I feel like I was lied to, because a Frog isn't a prize unless your in the woods having a peeing contest.

So what does that make guantanamo bay ? Not player hating or anything, just curious.
sorry if this de-rails the thread even more than it already is

I dont think so... Firstly, im from England and Secondly i have no links to America whatsoever, so how can it be terrorising my own kind?
I posted this because i felt this wasnt suitable for a game, millions of people were affected by this event and will be for the rest of their lives.
Fair enough, you can compare this to GTA, killin people etc. BUT the difference is, GTA wasnt an event in history, maybe sections from GTA have happened in life but the whole game hasnt in a few hours.
Therefore, the fact you say im overreacting shows your disrespect to the people affected by this! How would you feel if your parents and siblings all died in this event, leaving you scarred for life, and you then see this game on the internet? i dont think your gonna smile and download it are you? i think youd be more upset/angry/furious/in tears...
and what do u mean about terrorising "the other", i havent terrorised anyone!!!!!!!! think about what you say

It has been brought up before - but what about all those WWII games? It's not a fictive event, and if 9/11 affected millions of people, then WWII affected billions of people. Yet hardly anyone complains about such a game (where you usually fight on the "good" side, just like in the game you brought up). And don't say WWII was a long time ago - there are still lots of victims, soldiers, criminals that were involved in this war alive, as well as their relatives of course.

WAHHHH, the game has people being mean to americans.
Think of how HORRIBLE it would be if the nazi's HAD won, and we were all nazi's now, and someone released ANY WW2 games? Then we'd all be saying how sick it is that we're killing nazi's.

True, and that is another point... i was mainly reffering to this being compared to GTA, total fiction!

I think your going a little overboard here if you think things are bad nowadays you should really crack open a history book we think these supposably 'terrorists' are evil but in reality they are revolutionarys trying to bring rapid change for good and bad.Look on the men who founded america they were revolutionarys if britian was still the leading world power and the propaganda box as i call it was invented sooner and america was not a country you americans would be classified as terroists if you went to war against britian but now you run the world. In conclussion that game is far from the sickest if you don't recall it is a free country and you can have whatever opinion you want well here in canada anyways dont get me wrong I feel sorry for the losses at 9/11 but still my point stands and its nothing compared to the wars of the past and disasters of the past things have only improved thats how i see it.Make a game on the crusades and you have your sickest game catholics prosectuing people of the middle east based on their customs and choices.

I believe Robotriot has the most positive attitude against all this. I think in these things it's better to have an open mind than a solid opinion, and I wish all you "9/11 was the worst event ever" people could relate as easily to the hundreds of similar crimes that have happened over the course of history.
If everyone that had an opinion about war sat down and made a game about it (instead of getting into mindless arguments), then we would have achieved world peace by now! :)

Remember that story is written by the victorious. you know that the alamo also has 2 storys and 2 different endings, right? One being unhappy for us, and the other being unhappy for us, too?

Well, the makers of this game look spanish. I wonder how they would like a game where you must protect the train from the bombs, or something of that nature.
