I love the jet-black design of the Vectrex.
I also love it when people come into my room and say "what the hell is that TV for?"

the best looking system is a fully loaded megadrive mark 1 with a mega cd, 32x, multi tap with 4 megadrive power stick 2's plugged in, and any other stuff that you can find lying about that you can bolt onto it ;) the bigger the better.
not strictly a console, but other than that, the best thing i've seen is an amiga 1200 sprayed black :) looked sweet, would not mind doing that to mine one day.

Always been a big fan of the Super Famicom's simple yet snazzy design (gotta love those coloured buttons on the controllers). I wish they had kept the same design for the Super NES.
Honourable mentions go to the Genesis model 1 + Sega CD model 1 combo and to the original PS2.

super rare (it seems) PAL pokemon N64.
Wish I didn't cut a huge hole in the bottom of mine for a Dr V64!!
I have to say... Silver GB Micro.

Divers 2000 Dreamcast. Surely the funkiest looking console ever.
Closely followed by the Panasonic Q and the Sega RG-M1 Wondermega.
As for 'normal consoles' I'd have to say the PCEngine Duo R/RX is very sleek. And both the PSone and PStwo are much better looking than the originals. I don't know why people don'y like the design of the DC? I think it's great, especially with a blue swirl.
And an honorable mention to the Megadrive 1/Mega CD 1 set-up for being a mean looking stack of gaming goodness.

Very simple, and very common, but I think the slimline PS2 is the nicest looking system out there. It looks great in ceramic white (my import is this color) to boot.
Platinum GameCube is one nice looking console.

I like the Dreamcast, N64, and SNES the best. Yeah, I know most people think the SNES is pretty ugly, but I like it.
The only system i've ever seen and said "wow" was the Genesis all shiny and new in 89. It was/is amazing.

Wow, revived from the dead LOL
I must say, when I started this post nearly a year ago I said it was my GBA SP Classic edition, and I still believe that is the one I will go with (although I have taken a liking to that slimline PS2, not really sure why though :D )

They did in Europe, the US SNES looks pretty ugly.
I like the looks of the N64. Atari 2600 Jr. isn't bad either.
years later when i take off my vr helmet, i'll log on and revive this thread and say, "yep, i chose the virtual boy"

I've always liked the PC-FX.

I guess it was ahead of it's time, since this whole next generation of consoles seem to have embraced the "tower" form factor.

Dear god no.
Anyway, gonna agree with Blue Lander...looking over this thread (again) I realized (AGAIN) that there are a ton of high quality systems. I've always hated the Super Famicom's look, actually. Compared to some systems, it's an odd beige lump.
Still better than others, though.
I know Nintendo consoles are an easy pick, but I really do like a NES (that hasn't been sunburned) and the Game Boy Pocket. Great systems.

Sega Genesis/CD Model 1 with 32x on top,32bit power :-P
Sega Master System Model 1,fits perfect on top of an original model PS2,which is another one i like. The Toaster NES,best for front loading. Atari 2600 6switch model. I think thats it.

I just love the Dreamcast when it comes to looks. Also I love the White Saturn.

The Pioneer Laseractive looks good in an entertainment center. It just blends in with the other surround sound components, and it always feels special dropping a big 'ol fat laserdisc game in the tray (not that the games I have are that great).
Like many others here, I'm also a fan of the Dreamcast. It's a solid, compact design that's neither overly blocky, nor overly sleek.
Lastly, as far as handhelds are concerned, I give thumbs up to the Tapwave Zodiac. Its metal casing, vivid screen, and slim profile make it both aesthetically pleasing, and a joy to hold on to.

I think those Europe automobile color (or whatever the hell they are called) PS2's are damned sexy. I always prefer a splash of color on my consoles, because Black, White, and Gray get old pretty fast, if you ask me. Unless its shiny. Shiny makes it all better.

I only have a NES, Super NES, Gamecube, Slim Playstation 2, Playstation One, Nintendo 64, Gameboy Advance SP: Onyx, Nintendo DS and a Silver Famiclone.
Out of all of those, I would have to say that the Slim Playstation 2 looks the best. It is also the best for size, because it fits damn near anywhere, and is so light.
My Silver Famiclone looks pretty cool too, with the huge NES cartridge sticking out :P .
Far and away, my favorite is:
Super Famicom
It's the first system (and probably the last, really) that I ever actually sort of lusted over. Yes, lust. I think. Hmm. Hey, I was in the 7th grade. Give me a break!
But the design is slick and absolutely elegant. I still look at my Super Famicom, which I only finally aquired about 5 years ago, and am blown away by how handily it beats our SNES (they live side-by-side on my shelf, now). Yeah, the UK crew definitely lucked out with their SuperFami-like design. I love that one, too.
sleepycal, if you love small green systems, check out my metallic green Celebi GBA.

That would be my SNES. While I dont care for the original colors, now that I've custom painted the shell it looks a great deal better solid gold. I just wish it had a smooth finish instead of the bumpy feel. I could fix that by sanding it, but that's something I cant bring myself to do. I love the angles of the system from the top to the bottem.

The yellow Gameboy color with the Tommy Hillfiger logo is one of my favorites and the Xbox. Theres just something about a console that takes two people to lift.

I love the NES for its games, but the console design seems like....a toaster.

I like the way my Duo looks. That and I have a custom built Neo Geo MVS that is bad looking. I got it from Benheck. It's sweet.
