So, what's your favorite of the group?

Note that for several of the games, they were released on more then one platform, so I did'nt bother to list them. Ninja Gaiden, for example, was available for the PC as well as for the NES.

I prefer Ninja Gaiden Triliogy over the original NES games for some things (touched up graphics and music, surrond sound, passwords) but dislike it for others (slowdown, no endings, minor changes in gameplay). It's a real toss up for me which one to play when I feel like playing one. II is my favorite, though.

I also had to go with Ninja Gaiden Triliogy, mainly because I couldn't decide between NJ1 and 2 for the top spot. Anyways, I never had a problem with the game besides the lack of the fade in in NJ1. Why did they get ride of that?

Yaaa! I love NG II. Its just the right difficulty. hard enough to challenge me, but not so hard I can't consistently get through it. Love Ninja Gaiden II!

Great cut scenes as well!

I love them all, but I had to go with Ninja Gaiden II (NES). Absolutely my fave. Best cinemas, plotline, powerups, level design, and control. My only beef with it is that it might be a bit too easy (in contrast to NGIII wich is way too hard), but it's certainly no cakewalk.

Honourable mentions to:
-NG (Xbox) (awesome bosses, tight control, incredible visuals)
-NG I (NES)

I'd have to say that I found all the NES ones too hard. I never really played them thoroughly, leaving the XBox one as the first I've beaten, and my favorite.

I'm sad to see that the Lynx Ninja Gaidens aren't on that list either :D

Farthest I made it in NG was the stage right after Bloody Malath, NG2 I got up to when you gotta fight the final 3, which became famous in the NG trilogy.

I always thought the arcade one was underrated. I bought the arcade board, and while I didn't really care for it at first, it really grows on you. Maybe it isn't the best Ninja Gaiden game, but it's a good Double Dragon style brawler.

Wasn't there a Ninja Gaiden for the Lynx? I think it was III, but I've never played it.

Right, guys, I said in my note I did'nt include all of the systems the games were published on -- just the seperate games themselves. The Lynx Ninja Gaiden games were ports. :)

Agreed and concurred. Took me about fifteen years to finally beat the fucking thing without the aid of a Game Genie, but I never gave up on it. :)

It's strange, there are some games I find too hard to beat, but I beat Ninja Gaiden when it came out in a week -- at the tender age of 13. ;)

NG 2 took me 5 days and NG 3 took me 10 days. Hardest of the original three.

Now I can go through the first two games on one continue and only need one for 3. :D

ninja gaiden 2 is my favorite game in the series and the only one i could get far into without totally getting beat.

Shadow Warriors 2 (NJ II) is the best, havent been able to beat Ashter yet, but I will one day!

I like 3 as well, but dont play it much, it really is hard, but I love the sound FX.

Xbox all the Way!!!!!!!

WHY? well, it contains one of the finest examples of a 3D game. As well as... The Ninja Gaiden Trilogy! Its THAT much better than NGT on SNES. Youd be a fool not to vote for it, its all Ninja Gaiden (minus the Arcade machine, which ruling out the fact that all of them are on Xbox, would have to be my second choice... I love the acrobatics in that game too :) )

I borrowed Ninja Gaiden II from my cousin a lot back in the day.

I never got the chance to play the first NG or the third though. I'd love to find a copy of Ninja Gaiden Trilogy one of these days.

I assume by "PC" you are refering to the "PC-Engine"? I'm not sure if that was a port. If I recall it got mediocre reviews.

I'd have to go with the XBOX version. The downloadable content is a cool idea. I hope more games do this (not just online games).

The original NES Ninja Gaiden is by far my favorite. I like the cutscenes, levels and music in that one the most.

No, I mean a ACTUAL PC game. Both Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 were ported to the PC. Surprised? So was I when I found them at a store a few years ago. ;) They are pretty bad ports, though.

I also realize I did'nt include the Genesis/Game Gear version of Ninja Gaiden -- THAT'S a bit different from any of the other versions. But the former was never released and the later is kind of uncommon, so I think I can get away with it. :)

Ninja Gaiden 2! I loved the storyline due to the cool characters like Ashtar.

I also choose Ninja Gaiden II. It was the most well done of the 3 titles on the NES. Ninja Gaiden 3 was too hard for me, so I couldn't finish it. I also love the music in NG II.

I like the Trilogy version's music for NG1...but for 2...eh, sounds cooler on the original :)

I'm a big fan of Shadow myself...it's actually a game I can get around in! Yay! A very nice break from Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge and Operation C, indeed.

Ninja Gaiden II. Everything about that game rulled, especially the opening movie and music.

Well, my fav. is the Trilogy for SNES, but it's not really fair since it's all games in one, so I voted for my fav. single game, Ninja Gaiden for NES.

Arcade version by far. Grabbin fools by the neck and tossing them, one of my favorite arcade activities ever

Then you should hurry your ass up and unlock the original Trilogy... The real reason Xbox Ninja Gaiden is the best ;)

As much as I loved throwing those hockey mask goons through street signs I'm going with Part II. I never did beat that final level though.
