What luck! An earlier adapter I built allows me to play my Atari 7800 on that portable 5 inch black and white television, by connecting it to the "ext. antenna" socket!
Now all I need is a simple stereo jack from Radio Shack and I can play the 7800 itself off of the same 12 Volt battery. With the Freeplay pedal charger, this means video games even in extended power outages.

And, since the well I dug hit a spring (divining rod), we're almost set.
Note- At a garage sale, I picked up an adapter that converts 12V to 9V, so I'd use that for the 7800. It usually reads about 10V, but I don't think that'll be a problem.
