Well, today was decent, and I was actually having a great morning. Found a new "used junk" store that sells TONS of games....i mean, they have everything.

I had about 20 mins to blow so I was steadily sorting through everything, making myself a neat little pile on another shelf of stuff I wanted to buy.

So about 15 minutes into it, I was almost ready, the woman that owns it steps back to where im at and says "excuse me, can I ask you something?"

"Sure", I was assuming she was going to ask me something about some games she didn't know about, because I was picking up all the oddball stuff no one else would buy.

She then says "we seen you put something in your pocket, I don't want to embarass you or anything..."

:eek 2:

....I was being accused of stealing. I have never been accused of stealing, ever, and when I have a huge ass pile of stuff I'm about to buy....I'M ACCUSED OF STEALING.

Then I calmly explain that yes, I did put something in my pocket....my cellphone...because I had a phone call (obviously they didn't hear my damn phone ring) and also checked the time. I also explained that I checked the time because I have to open my store in 10 minutes, because I own my own store as well, and I have absolutely no reason to steal from her because I can buy whatever I want. She dropped it at that point.

So yeah, I was throuroughly offended, and honestly I was embarassed. Now I have the decision of turning the other cheek and going back so I can get more games from them or not going back at all because they offended me so much.

But anyways, of course, my finds....

Soul Calibur - Dreamcast - 5.00
Sonic Adventure 2 - Dreamcast - 5.00

V-Tennis - PS1 Longbox - 5.00

RDF - Sega CD - 5.00

Crackpots - 2600 - .50
Strategy X - 2600 - .50
Space Shuttle - 2600 - .50
Donkey Kong Jr. - 2600 (Atari Version) - .50
Robot Tank - 2600 - .50

Frogger - INTV - .50

Magical Drop Pocket - Neo Geo Pocket - 5.99

Pac-Boy & Mouse - Watara Supervision - 3.99

....It's been a hell of a day. *sigh*

Cmosfm, I wouldn't be that offended. If this was a new shop, this might've been her first time really dealing with customers and the like and she was probably just very nervous and jumpy about people ripping her off. From what you said, she sounded like she was very polite about the whole thing. At least she didn't grab you by the back of the neck and drag you into the back room where a couple of toughs were waiting! Uh, not like that's ever happened to me. Nope.
If anything, she'll probably remember you the next time as the kid she accused of stealing and might actually give you a good deal! LOL

Anyway, back on topic.
My morning started off pretty bad, as I drove around for about an hour trying to find this one garage sale that said they had "tons of electronics". I get there and it's basically just an older couple with a couple of card tables with clothes. I guess the ancient Palm Pilot they had for $12 was their 'tons of electronics'
Things picked up when I went to the dirt mall... hell, it was as good as ever after somewhat of a dry spell.
http://www.rydia.net/joshnickerson/dp/wke0226.jpg
Can you say "booyah"?
Mario Bros, Wario's Woods, Tetris 2 and Urban Champ were $3 each
Breath of Fire set me back $6, while Actraiser w/ manual was $5. Final Fantasy 3 w/ manual and map was $12.
The things in the plastic baggies were McDonalds toys on sale for a buck each. I got three Sega mini-games (Monkey Ball, Tails Flying Adventure and Knuckles Soccer) and various Lilo & Stitch and Kim Possible toys.
Oh, and the SNES 2 was ten bucks, bare. It's kinda dirty on the inside, I hope it'll work without having to take it apart and cleaning it.
All and all, not a bad day! Of course, I'm broke now. *L*

EDIT: Oh, and I met Strong Bad! Well, not really, there were a bunch of masked Mexican wrestlers walking around giving out fliers promoting one of their matches, and one of them was a dead ringer for Strong Bad (except for the beer belly)

Went hunting today...was hoping for some sega cd stuff but:

McDonald's

Bacon Egg & Cheese Biscuit & Orange HI-C - 3.00

Bethany Home Swap Meet

Wasted Time (complete?) - free

Pawn Shop

Strikers 1945 (complete) - 5.00

Pawn Shop 2

Dreamcast - Rayman 2 (complete) - 2.00

Saver's

Saw a ton of sega cd games...which IRONACLLY I was hoping to find. Had them all and almost picked up Sonic CD for trade bait but didn't.

Thrifty Joes

Xbox - Ninja Gaiden (complete) - 27.00

Gamestop

Xbox - Star Wars: KOTOR Guide (Used) - 2.00

Not bad....quite a long trip. I always seem to fail horribly at swap meets and garage sales. Guess I need more practice. Oh well, time to play Ninja Gaiden.

I had to check out the EB deal today since it will be ending come March 1st. The following games are loose unless otherwise noted:

Joe & Mac (NES, w/ sleeve and manual)
Gyruss (NES, Complete)
Tetris (NES)
Dr. Mario (NES)
P.O.W. (NES)
Iron Tank (NES, w/ sleeve)
Mighty Bomb Jack (NES, w/sleeve)
Tiger-Helei (NES)
Ms. Pac-man (Genesis, complete)

Totaled $29.53, not a bad deal. I was annoyed with the Namco Pac-man cart they had. I normally wouldn't pass up on an R7 especially when it's only $5 but this Pac-man's label was half gone. I'm really picky.

just won this about 1 min ago:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8171751322

Figured what the hell, shipping will probably be $4-5 so thats a little over a dollar for each game, and battle tank is an R4 and the others are all R2, and I always wanted air fortress.

EDIT: Just won this also, it was a good price for such a large standee, and I know later on an item like this will be much desired becuase the game is going to kick ass!:

Today's find is special but not in a value sort of way:

Gran Turismo 4

My wife surprised me and bought it while she was out in town with one of her friends. In our 13 years together she has never bought a game for me until today. :)

Not because she doesn't approve she's just always left it to me to get what I want.

Surprisingly I found a rack of $5 PS2 games at the local Menards (Midwest hardware store, like Lowes or Home Depot). Ended up picking up Rygar, Future Tactics, Trigger Man, and Kya. Tried to convince my girlfriend that video games are a form of home improvement. I was told to be quiet and help her pick out rugs that match the living room decor. :(

I went out and about after work yesterday to find a Genesis power supply and this is what I found:

Genesis Model 1 ("High Def" sticker, EXT port, license screen) with power supply and controller with complete Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, Hard Drivin' and Sonic the Hedgehog: $22.95

Joe Montana's Football (Genesis): $2.50 case and cart
John Madden Football (first one Genesis): $2.50 box and cart
Cyberball (Genesis): $2.50 case and cart

I probably paid a bit more than what that Genny bundle is worth but I got games I wanted (Moonwalker and Hard Drivin'....yes I like Hard Drivin'), the power supply I need and another controller. Plus it adds another serial to the almight Genesis List :)

Nothing for me on the weekend, but my son got one of those Jakks Pacific TV units for his 3rd birthday. It's the one with Pac-Man, Galaxian, Rally-X, Dig Dug, and Bosconian. I'm not a big fan of these things, but my son loves it.

Sunday was an AWESOME Day for me... We started out at Lancaster Flea Market early in the morning...grabbed....:

** a Working and Restored by the Owner Playstation (Core Only) for 5 bucks after I returned a Non-Working Megaman X4 to him that I had paid 10 bucks for, so he gave me 10 bucks in "Store Credit" which I put towards the 15 dollar PSX. Now I can trade my Non-Working one to him. ($5)

** Duke Nukem 3D For the Tiger Game.com, sealed and new... the only game I wanted that was missing from the Game.com lot I bought from CRV here... I'm happy now. ($1)

** Operation Wolf for NES (Loose) (2$)

** The Adventures of Bayou Billy for the NES (Loose) (1$)

** Space Jockey for the Atari 2600... BRAND NEW and UNOPENDED. The Box was in reasonable condition, bt the game cart is minty. ($1)

Then It was time to head into Boston...for the New England Classic Gamin meet!

There I got...

Atari 2600 Commons, just like I was hoping for! All Loose.... I paid 1 buck for each cart...except Pitfall II, which was like 6 or 7 bucks, but WORTH it.

** Battlezone
** Pitfall
** Pitfall II - Lost Caverns
** Dig Dug
** Barnstorming
** Jr. Pac-Man
** Kangaroo
** Crystal Caves
** Demon Attack

and as any who went to NECG know....the TG-16 that I stood in one place for nearly 20 minutes for holding onto it...

** TurboGrafx-16 w/ Hookups and Keith Courage in Alpha Zone. ($30)

Then...on the way out..I peered into the Trade Bins one last time...and made a deal for...

** Castlevania III - Dracula's Curse ($4)

This is by far my most best weekend ever!
