Stuff I found at my local thrift store. I didn't buy the Mac stuff, it's just posted as "finds".

http://www.robohara.com/junk/macs1.jpg

Mac IIci

http://www.robohara.com/junk/macs2.jpg

Mac LCIII

http://www.robohara.com/junk/macs3.jpg

Macintosh LC. There were two more of these right next to these two for a total of 4.

http://www.robohara.com/junk/macs4.jpg

This is some sort of adapter box for Macs. Thought with all the cross breeding of computers, it might come in handy. I think it was marked at $5.

http://www.robohara.com/junk/macs5.jpg

Don't worry, I already bought all the GOOD computer stuff, haha. 2 1541 drives, a C64c, and a 1520 printer. The drives were $4 each, the computer and printer were $2 each, but they ended up giving it all to me for $10.

In the mail I got:

Sega Saturn - Machine Head (complete)

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y20/hellvin/sega0031.jpg

Didn't come with the manual but of course I had an extra, hehe.

Sega Master System - Dick Tracy (complete)

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y20/hellvin/sega0021.jpg

Thanks Garry! Now I only need Slap Shot and Sonic until I complete the Master System collection!

Sega Visions Magazines, 21 Issues.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y20/hellvin/sega0011.jpg

I believe this is almost the entire run of the magazine. All the issues are nice and mint and I can't wait to read em.

Hit up a place called Tracy Game Exchange in...well, Tracy, California. Complete bollocks...not only did both the prices and selection suck, but it was like they purposely damaged games before selling them -- there most have been nearly a dozen carts I saw that had no labels, without other indication of what they were, but were still being sold at normal price. No thanks.

I left empty-handed, and eventually ended up going to see a movie (Constantine, if anyone cares).

We arrived a bit early so while waiting for the show to start we went to the nearby Gamestop and I found something...well, interesting.

http://img49.exs.cx/img49/8696/huh1ed.jpg

I've heard of people finding Japanese Gameboy games at these chains before, and European Megadrive carts, but this is something that not only is region-protected, but also looks completely different. When I took it up to buy it, the clerk didn't even notice. Though, it would have been more interesting if I'd actually found a game that never saw a US release...

I'm not going to take the stickers off this one. :P On a side note, this is the same Gamestop where I found an SFC pirate soccer cart.

That is such a badass movie! Best movie of 2005 so far :-P

Anyway I went to my favourite independant game store and traded in a couple of crap pc games, Wreckless (PS2) and Premier manager 99 promo (psone) for:

Playstation- Syphon Filter 3
Mega Drive- Desert Demolition (silver ozisoft case/cart version)
PS2- some british dvd of reviews and clips. The reviews are hilarious LOL

Technically they were weekday scores because i got them friday arvo, but since I just finished Syphon Filter 3 (saturday night) I'll post it anyway.

Garage sale season is upon us. I checked the newspaper today and see a huge list of garage sales, so I decided to call my buddy up and hit as many as we could. The FIRST one on our list says, "Unbelievable Sale -- you have to see it to believe it!" It goes on to talk about lots of toys, etc. We decided it would be worth checking out.

Holy crap!!! When we got there, it was a house that had been converted almost into a store. Every room had shelves on every wall and most of them had shelves in the middle of the rooms as well. There was so much stuff there and so many people there that quite often we would get stuck in a room for a few minutes at a time until we could weasle our way through the crowds. BOY are we glad we went! Here are some pictures I took of some of the stuff we found today!

http://www.robohara.com/junk/sotfc_02.jpg

This is a shot of the room to the left of the living room. The tubs in front of us were filled with action figures for .50. The white shelves held sports cards. The shelves to my left were packed with TMNT, Star Wars, and Star Trek toys.

http://www.robohara.com/junk/sotfc_03.jpg

Looking for collectable glasses? Chipmunks, Looney Tunes, Smurfs, Star Wars ... this place had them all for a buck each.

http://www.robohara.com/junk/sotfc_04.jpg

The next room over had even more action figures, both boxed and loose. Here are a bunch of Star Trek, Spawn, and X-Men figures.

http://www.robohara.com/junk/sotfc_05.jpg

The back room of the house had lots of seasonal items, including lots of Halloween and Christmas items. The whole right half of the room was filled with Garfield and M&M collectables.

http://www.robohara.com/junk/sotfc_06.jpg

This blurry mess shows just some of the TMNT, Coca Cola, and Looney Tunes collectables that were in the house.

http://www.robohara.com/junk/sotfc_07.jpg

The back wall of the room had more Halloween collectables, including Tales of the Crypt toys and Scooby Doo figurines.

http://www.robohara.com/junk/sotfc_08.jpg

Yeah. Those are boxed Atari 2600 and NES games, some still sealed. They were a dollar each, so I picked up the entire box and walked out with them. There was also a second box of games next to this one. I bought it too.

http://www.robohara.com/junk/sotfc_09.jpg

NES decks, with power supplies and RF adapters. $5 each.

http://www.robohara.com/junk/sotfc_10.jpg

This is the pile as it began to grow in the back of my car. My friend who went with me collects 80's items for his house, so I let him keep the Pac-Man games, the Gremlins game, the plush Smurfette and the boxed New Kids on the Block stuff.

http://www.robohara.com/junk/sotfc_11.jpg

Here's the second box of games I found. Also a dollar each. There were a lot of loose and Genesis ones down in the bottom of this one as well.

http://www.robohara.com/junk/sotfc_12.jpg

On the way out the back porch, we discovered even more glasses. If you ever wanted Care Bear, McDonald's, Burger King, Muppet, or Coca Cola glasses, this was the place. My friend and I each found two Pac-Man glass mugs. I also found a few Chuck E. Cheese mugs.

http://www.robohara.com/junk/sotfc_13.jpg

Stuffed animal, anyone? .25 cents each. I found a couple of Chuck E. Cheese dolls for my arcade. For some reason there were about 20 different Alf dolls. We also dug through the Thermoses and I got a Sonic the Hedgehog, a Pac-Man, and a Last Starfighter. In the distance were a bunch of lunch boxes, but not any matching ones.

http://www.robohara.com/junk/sotfc_14.jpg

On our way back through the house -- more Star Trek toys. There were toys in every room of the house.

http://www.robohara.com/junk/sotfc_15.jpg

And when I say every room, I mean EVERY room. Here are shelves of action figures and a bathtub full of stuffed animals.

http://www.robohara.com/junk/sotfc_16.jpg

Ho ho, what do we have here? I snagged controllers and zappers (grey) for those NES decks for a buck each out of this tub. There were a couple of 4 way NES adapters and a lot of 3rd party controllers that I left behind.

http://www.robohara.com/junk/sotfc_17.jpg

Here's a parting shot of all the loot we managed to grab between the two of us.

Here is a list of just the games I scored.

I love arcade sticks and thought I would never find one for the Genesis out in a chain store. I can't wait until the snow melts and the garage sales start. I'm sick of getting hosed by the corporations :(

damnit! now that i think of it, i wish you'd gotten a lid for one of those thermoses. i've got a mario/zelda one at home without a top. the stock lid for it is just flat blue (or brown) i believe, so it woulda been killer to get one as long as i was getting those bookend/trophies from you.

Only crappy finds this weekend. Well, not crappy, but nothing terribly exciting.

Wonder Boy III: Monster's Lair (Mega Drive) - $5. Finally found a complete copy! It's not in terrific condition, but the instructions!

2 Pokemon mini figurines for $1 each. A Pidgey and some pink sheep that I forget the name of. (Flaafy, apparently.)

Recently (last week) I found a whole folder full of Pokemon cards for $3 and now I've started collecting the cards and tiny figurines. Unfortunately the only cards I could find were $2 EACH. I giggled at the kids that were selling them and when they told me they hadn't sold any... well... d'uh :P

Star Wars board game and a white Sega brand controller (Genesis or Saturn?)

Blur2040

The white Sega controller is a Japanese one. There were no white Saturns released anywhere else...surprisingly though, the white controllers come up in the US pretty often. I have no idea why. I just seen them about in the wild.

The Mario and Luigi action figures look (judging by the logo) like they're from the Super Mario Bros. Movie...The Mario is a dead ringer for Bob Hoskins...The Luigi looks nothing like John Legquizamo...but it's an action figure...what do you want?

Nothing rare, but it adds to the collection:

Super Sprint (NES) - $1
Rolling Thunder (NES) - $1
Mad Maestro (PS2) - $6
Simpsons Hit and Run (PS2) - $17
Shaq Fu (SNES) - $3

And dammit, Shaq Fu doesn't work. This is the second non-working cart I've gotten in the last two weeks. Blech.

I got a sweet Sony CD system put in my car on Friday. I haven't had a radio in my car for almost 8 months. Probably wouldn't have had one before now if I hadn't been so focused on having something to post in this forum every week... LOL

My big find this past weekend was the Nintendo Power Preview kiosk components mentioned in another thread; paid $15 for the lot! Also bought a copy of Clockwork Knight for the Saturn in very good shape for $2.

I told myself I wouldn't buy anything this weekend, still deep into Tekken 5 and starting on Gran Turismo 4 and SMT:Nocturne, but:

All PSX
Viewpoint (Complete) - $1.49
Jupiter Strike (Complete) - $1.49
Kileak: The DNA Imperative (Complete) - $1.49
R4-Ridge Racer Type 4 (Complete) - $1.99
Brave Fencer Musashi (Missing the FFVIII Demo) - $14.99

and Silent Hill 4 (Xbox) - $14.99

The first 3 PSX games were longbox ones too, surprisingly all complete and in good shape. First longboxes I've gotten since Sony did away with them in mid '96. Not the best of deals, but I've done worse.

Not really a "find", but I picked up MVP Baseball 2005 for the Xbox. Even though I promised myself I wouldn't. ;)
