I used to have the PC version of Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego? and that one most definitely came with a big fat almanac/encyclopedia thing. It's necessary to play the game, really...I'd assume that the console versions would be the same way.

I have a NES version of Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego? with a big box but I also don't have the book. I'm not sure about the SNES release but I think they all have the big box with the almanac.

Really, all you have to do is go to a used bookstore, and see if they have an almanac from the year the game was released...that way the info would be correct (we all know how fast things change in the world).

In my old version, there was no special version of the World Almanac, no stickers, special covers anything...

Greetings

All of the "Where in" series has an almanac of some sort released with them. It is all real world information though so any almanac should do.

I play the SMS version every once in a while and try not to refer to the almanac to see if I can do it. :)
