So who are everyones "favorite" developers? And by "favorite" I mean: What developers, that you don't necisarilly like, have really made an impact on each generation (and / or continue do do so)?. Who pushed the audio / visual limits on the consoles they have developed for?. Who Crafted the perfect game with nothing more than Mcgyver style intuition... and innovated / created new genres that we now know and love?. Who do you think will lead us in to the next generation of Innovation and strive for true excelence and supremecy in the artistic side of the Videogame? And... Why?

If I am reading your post correctly, you're asking for our favorite developers but ones that we don't necessarily like?? Maybe i'm just reading it wrong....anywhoo...let me see..

Atlus/Nippon Ichi - one of my favorite game developer/publisher

SNK - they truly pushed the graphical limits of the Neo Geo to the edge, and some still feel like there is still untapped potential (Think Garou: mark of the wolves, Art of Fighting 3, and Blazing Star/Pulstar). These games were released on a console that was originally designed to squash SNES, Genesis, and Turbo and only ended it's run with the recent months.

Speaking of Turbo, I would say Hudson Soft is another fav Developer. Have you seen or played Sapphire for the PC-Engine. That game truly pushed the PC Engine to the limits graphically. That and I would say Anearth Fantasy Stories/Legend of Xanadu II. Super beautiful graphics for a 8-bit system on steroids.
