Shining Force III Translations?

I bought a copy of the Japanese version of Shining Force III, episode 1, mostly because at around $3, it is a damn ways cheaper than the US release. I do read Japanese passably, but I would sure like a translation of the game as a backup. I've seen plenty of translations for episodes 2 and 3, but only the scripts for the american version of 1. Does anybody know how close the two are, as in are there missing portions of the localization that wouldn't be in the script, but in the Japanese version?

I don't think Scenario 1 was ever done, mainly b/c the game is available (even though expensive) in English.
