There's nothing special to it. Just copy the entire disc using any burning program that lets you do that. I've backed up all my Sega CD games using Nero.

What was the problem you had, that you couldn't copy the disc or that the backup wouldn't load on the Sega CD? If it's the latter one, I think a general hint for old CD systems is to burn at the lowest speed possible, and maybe the CD-R brand you're using might be an issue too. Also, CD-RWs usually can't be read by old CD systems.

If you have an Iso file/Cue/Bin etc, just use Alchohol 120% or Nero to burn the image

iIf you have Track01.iso, Track02.mp3 and so on...
Extract the Iso using Winrar...
Open Nero..
Select Mioxed Media Mode (Audio and Data in one)
Put the extracted files from the Iso in the top box (Data area)
And put the Mp3s below in the right order (In the audio area)

Then burn!

Easy as that!

Google for Sega Cue Maker, and use an older version of nero (5.5 or so is supposed to be best). Newer versions of Nero and alchohol won't even burn iso/mp3 for me, and the programs that will do it the audio screws up.

I have an older Nero 5 and all I do is a copy disk.

Nothing special.
