I got a month's worth of goodness to clear in this post, so be patient :) I also went a bit wild with purchases this month, but here's the highlights:
http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/7052/img0520ns6.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
One of my personal grails - a nicely boxed, complete, and in excellent condition FM Towns Marty. I've wanted one for a while, but wanted to find it in the wild and not on eBay. I've never sniffed one until last week -- I went to a local game shop that's open until 2am and poked around their stuff. Well I found a game I wanted (see below), and as I went to the counter I glanced up at a very large stack of old consoles -- near the top was the lovely green box. I got an employee to get it down, no price. When I asked -- only ~$40! I hopped on that immediately. When I go through everything at home, all the manuals are there (so's the warranty card, bought launch time at Yodobashi Shinjuku), the system has few minor wear and tear. Just a beautiful find, and easily my find of 2007.
http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/4142/img0521xx1.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Battle Ace for the SuperGrafx. Minty from the same shop, $7.
http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/9352/img0522ba2.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Probably my best haul of 2007 before I got the Marty. The Sapphire wasn't cheap, but it's in quite nice condition and I got it for well below guide price.
The SuperGrafx was an insane deal - boxed, and in decent condition for $15. $15! I'll buy every one I can find at that price :)
http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/6756/img0523sq0.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Neo Geo Pocket goodness. All complete and in nice condition. The Samurai Spirits Box is guide listed as an R8 and $95/complete; not sure I buy that as mine was $25/complete. I've seen it around a few times for not a whole lot more than that.
http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/3585/img0524vi0.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Finally some DC goodies. The Samba de Amigo was also cheap at $35. I'm quite happy to get the new/sealed Napple Tale and the Tokyo Bus Guide w/ Bijin Bus Guide as well.

I'd be happy to find any games for the system, regardless of price. Towns software just ain't easy to find in the wild.
I do have exactly one game that I picked up last year, and it's the most desirable -- Splatterhouse. Dug it up in a little store and relatively cheap -- bought it in anticipation of finding a system someday. That's supposed to be the hardest to find, so it's gotta get easier from there, right?
Gives me something to do :)

That would be the reason to own a fm town marty.
The console has the perfect port of splatterhouse yeah there is the,PCE version but it does fall rather short sad to say.
As for finding games for it on a regular basis can't say i see them offen.
When sellers do have titles to sell on ebay "the prices can skyrocket" it on some titles.
Still..if your gonna have it just for a 'few games that's good enough reason to own one.
I know i couldn't see myself owning for a few games for it becuase.I know would want them all plus i couldn't aford it any ways.

I got Sailor Moon for PC Engine, along with the Sailor Moon S box puzzle game and Sailor Moon SuperS: Fuwa Fuwa Panic for Super Famicom last month, all complete. In the next few days, I'm expecting Final Fight Revenge for Saturn and sometime next month I'll be getting Onita Atsushi: FMW, both also complete.

I honestly haven't tried it yet, mainly because I don't have a PC Engine CD. I've mainly played Sailor Moon Collection through an emulator running through my PC's cd-rom drive, though from the looks of it, the games are most likely the same concept, which is a collection of mini games, one for each senshi.

I just got my Famicom Disk System in the mail today.
Sadly, as expected (but was was trying to be optimistic about) the drive belt was melted around the drive motor like a blob of black tar.
Cosmetically, eveyrthing else looked great, and when attached to my Famicom (Generation NEX if you want to get technical) and powered up the disk LED lit up, the motor spun rapidly, and the "Please Set Disk" screen displayed ... so, I'm hoping that a new belt and perhaps a disk head adjustment will do the trick.
Cleaned the belt tar off the motor and and ordered a replacement belt.
Also imported a nice little lot of Famicom Disk games last week which came before the system.
Doki Doki Panic
Golf Japan Course
Zelda 2
F1 Race
3D Hot Rally (2 copies included in the lot ... to go along with the near mint boxed complete one I purchased off PingvinBlueJeans at the last NAVA LOL)
Castlevania
Green Beret (Rush N' Attack)
Exciting Baseball
M.U.S.C.L.E. (or Kniku Wrestling, or whatever it was called in Japan)
Ultraman
Galaxy Odyssey
Gall Force Eternal Story
If I can't get the thing up and running via new belt and head adjustment ... I'll post in Tech and Restoration and see who can help me, but I've got my fingers crossed that in a week or so I'll be enjoying some Fami Disk Fun.

Congrats on getting a,FDS yup it is a gamble getting one with the belt drive that works.
I got mine last year from jgs cib and it worked fine for me.
From what i herd 'it can be a pain in the ass to replace the belt drive and to set it right.
Good luck on that part btw on replaceing the belt drive for yours.
Still if ya need help on that i hear this site has good info on it.

I set a goal two years ago to buy it if I found it below 20,000yen. Still haven't gotten lucky :( There's one at Traders 2 for 21,500, but that's not 20,000.
$280 is a pretty fair price off ebay, I think...

This is everything from this month. Spring break put me off from posting earlier.
Valis III is brand new, from Play-Asia's sale. It was around $4.49. I also got some Shooting Game Historica Gashapon figures from play asia as well. (not pictured)
The 2 avenue pad 6's and the Shin Megami Tensei are from Toysonthelinehk. The pads are new, I sent an offer of $28 for each, and the Shin Megami Tensei was $5.
The Sapphire I bought off a friend for roughly $50. Its the reprint version, but I don't have 300 to drop on a real one like my friend did.
Spriggan came in the mail today. It was $40, and I have been after it for a very long time.

Armored Core 2
Dead or Alive 2: Hard*Core
Street Fighter EX 3
Tekken Tag Tournament

I already own all the U.S. versions of these games, but it's kind of neat to have them.
Also, I picked up Tetris 4D for the Japanese Dreamcast off Ebay for $8.98 and Slotter Up III for the Japanese PS2 off Playasia.com for $4.90.

I just got a personal grail ... while NOT exceptionally valuable, it WILL be extremely functional in my collection.
A brand new, still boxed and in shrink-wrap a Famicom Clone that has the look and (90% of the) original Famicom hardware cloned to the letter, AND it has built in AV ports on the back. Sadly, it doesn't have the controller microphones, but, that's a decent trade-off for AV.
Sweet.
I tested it on all my Fami software and the FC Disk System - and everything worked better than any other FC Clone that I have in my collection, and it even has the "expansion" port in the front so now I can play my 3D Hot Rally in 3D ... if I ever find a set of the glasses at a decent price.
I assume this was one of the HK FC Clones that were made DURING the Fami's lifespan, using more of Nintendo's authentic coding. I'm no expert, but I've got a ton of clones and that's the impression that the functionality of this one gives me.
The seller also included, brand-new, both a 72 to 60 pin FC to NES adapter and a brand new 60 to 72 pin NES to FC adapter and 5 RANDOM HK Famicom pirate games ... which happen to randomly include the Japanese Transformers Headmasters game, which I've never played.
Christ it's a hard game. HARD.
Total price shipped = $50.
In celebration of this momentus occasion I'll be liberating one of my many AV Famiclones at the next NAVA at a totally reasonable price.
Here are some pictures of the haul.

AV Family Computer
Famicom Disk System
CIB Super Mario RPG

Out of curiosity, can I use a US NES AC adapter with the AV? I got an AC adaptor for the Disk System, but not the AV. If the US adapter won't work, can I use the FDS adapter (C batteries FTW) with it?

From everything I've seen/read you should NOT attempt to use a US NES AC with a Japanese Famicom AV system.
A standard Famicom AC is not the same as the US NES or NES 2 AC adapter and it's reported that using a US AC on either Famicom can potentially damage the hardware.
The SPECIFIC type of AC you're looking for for your AV Famicom is this:
Nintendo AC adapter Model HVC-002.
It works with :
Family Computer/Famicom model HVC-001
AV Famicom model HVC-101/HVC-NFF
Super Famicom model SHVC-001
Super Famicom Jr. model SHVC-101
The Famicom Disk System AC is ALSO different:
MODEL HVC-025
I wouldn't try that in the AV Fami either.
Interestingly enough, the AV Famicoms didn't come with AC adapters or AV cables! Talk about skimping on console accessories!

Thanks. However, I was actually wondering if the power output was the same. The required voltage and current are not written on the AV, but I know what the AC adapters output. The HVC-25 I have is 9V DC at (my memory may be a bit off) 400mA.
But, I guess I will have to get another adapter then.

I just got two One Station multicarts, one 8 Bit and one 16 Bit (and a bunch of other random inexpensive accessories) in the mail from www.superufo.com today (AWESOME fast shipping with FedEx only 2 days from Japan!)
One of the carts 35-IN-1 (C) had a nice, and rather unique selection of NES & Famicom games on it including but not limited to:
Adventure Island 3 (JAP)
Batman (US)
TMNT II Arcade (US)
The Punisher (US)
River City Ransom AKA Nekketsu Monogatari (JAP)
Nintendo World Cup AKA Nekketsu Kōkō Dodgeball Bu: Soccer Hen (JAP)
... I had NO idea that River City Ransom (Nekketsu Monogatari) was on there when I bought it! That's probably my favorite NES game ever ... if only it wasn't the Japanese version ... I'll never be able to figure out which books or food to buy in the shops or record/enter the passwords correctly.
Oh well, still fun to play!
The other cart 20-IN-1 (Smax-1) was a bunch of 16 bit modern puzzle game clones similar to Bejeweled, not too bad ... though it was a substitution that I had to make when they were out of stock on the other 8-Bit cart I wanted. :(
