Nah, its loose, sadly. The disc is in pretty good shape though, just a couple of very small scratches.
Of course, since I got it today, it probably would have been gone if it had the orginal case and had been sitting out front.
Funny story, the guys at the next gamecrazy I went to asked me if I had made any good finds, and I told them about Suikoden II. They actually called up the clerk at the other store that sold it to me and yelled at him on the phone for letting it go! It was pretty hillarious.

How long is this sale going for? I've already been to a crapload of stores but hell, if it's lasting for a while maybe I'll head to Mesa while I'm off on Wednesday.

The sale runs until May 28th. However, I expect everything worth over 10 bucks will probably be gone by the end of this week.

Agreed, guess I better check out the far east side while I still got a chance then. Thanks for posting the date.

More stock will be arriving from the Gamecrazy distribution centers throughout the sale. It's a sin for any display case to be empty and one of the reasons for this sale is to get rid of the backstock at the DC's. If the managers in your local stores are worth their salt they'll be getting more games in from the DC's as soon as possible. This is why I said in an earlier post you may want to make weekly runs.

This kind of sucks at my GameCrazy. Seriously, Syracuse must be home to very few collectors. Barely anything worth buying had disappeared when I revisited my local GC at 3PM Sunday. I was there previously at 10AM Thursday morning. I hope people start buying more stuff so they can get some new stock in.

Shantae (GBC)
Not bad. I would have paid $51 going with the sticker prices.

No pics this time, but I made my second run this past Friday evening. I got some decent stuff on this latest run!
GBC
Winnie the Pooh - Adventures
Fisher Price - Rescure Rangers
Dragon's Lair
Wario Land 3
Game Gear
Pinball Dreams (I didn't even know there was a GG release!)
Sonic Labyrinth (It is the Japanese import but I have been looking for one of this loose for like ever!)
Genesis
Castlevania Bloodlines (For trade bait!)
Moonwalker (Finally! Only the second one I have seen loose in the wild! and Cheap!)
SNES
Final Fantasy II (For Trade Bait! includes the cart slip on protoector)
I guess I will need to make another trip back up to see what might have been replenished, but GameXchange and Vintage Stock both know about this and have been making runs to add to their own inventories to sell for their true values later...so we have actual retailers competing here in Tulsa with the collectors.

Let's keep this thread rolling!...
I went in with the intention of picking up Bust-A-Groove and Xenogears (since they were both there about six hours before I went in to pick them up) but the one a-hole employee at the nearest GameCrazy was in tonight and said they weren't there - even though I KNOW he was moving them aside for himself in the PSX drawer. Needless to say I just picked up a few things quickly and got the hell out of there before I had to clock the moron.
Genesis - Phantasy Star II
PS1 - Saiyuki Journey West
Saturn - Panzer Dragoon
I really didn't need another copy of Panzer Dragoon but he was yacking about it with the other guy there when I walked in. I was looking in the NES case, saw it to the side with the other Saturn games (THEY DESTROYED ALL THE CASES IT SEEMS... NOOOOOooooooooooooo ... really the manager took them but they won't say that) and said "I'll take Panzer Dragoon." Just the little fit he had there was worth $15. Couldn't do a little swap and hide that one, couldn't say it was out of stock, couldn't say the system was list was out of date, because I could see the damn game!
Anyway, I may end up keeping this copy of Panzer Dragoon simply because it has sentimental value now - a relic from the day I finally got back at that idiot. LOL
Just the same, they're all up for trade, as is a copy of Phantasy Star IV from a previous trek - I just changed the save battery in both it and Phantasy Star II. You know the drill, PM.

Picked up some more games, I'm such a sucker for sales -
N64
Mega Man 64
Earthworm Jim 3D
Aidyn Chronicles
Killer Instinct Gold
Kirby The Crystal Shards
Turok Dinosaur Hunter
Quake II
Dreamcast
Sonic Adventure LE
San Fran Rush 2049 Demo Disc (both these were Hollywood Video exclusives)
PSX
Diablo
Mega Man X4
NES
Donkey Kong Classics
Kirby Adventure
SNES
Tetris & Dr Mario
Genesis
Shining Force (CIB)
And a nice trade with one of the guys that works at the Game Crazy. He picked up a CIB Phantasy Star II and Phantasy Star III from another Game Crazy during the sale, but had no Genesis to play them on. I mentioned to him I had 4 Genesis systems in my Aztek, he could have his pick of any of the 3 models. So I traded him a Genesis 3 (that I paid like $5 for) for those two RPGs. I'm letting him borrow Phantasy Star II until he beats it, then it's mine. 8*)

Yesterday I tried returning/exchanging a PSX game I bought on Tuesday that was so scratched it wouldn't load up...
The kid working at the store said that he was too new to be allowed to do an exchange and that I would have to come back when there was a manager present... The problem is, I drove over from Windsor, Ontario to Dearborn, Michigan - not only is it a pain in the ass to drive over, but it costs $8 in bridge tolls... (for a $5 game...)
So I asked him if he would at least buff the game for me.. and of course, no, he couldn't do that because the machine was broken...
Okay...
I had a list of nearby GC's so I said I would try my luck at another store..
The kid at the next store told me he couldn't exchange it either and that it would cost me $2 to have it buffed and that it still wouldn't be guaranteed....
I found a few games I wanted and he rang them up and buffed the disc for free.. it still doesn't work though..
Anyhoo - I picked up:
N64:
Yoshi's Story
Kirby 64
Beetle Adventure Racing
Aerofighters Assault
Mario Golf
Banjo Kazooie
Banjo Tooie
Ms Pac Man Maze Madness
Mystical Ninja starring Goemon
Mario Tennis
LOZ: Majora's Mask
PSX:
Blue's Big Musical Movie
Thanks for the head's up!

I can vouch for that, when I came on as a shift leader and then a manager the existing store manager (and district manager when I moved up) didn't tell me crap in my first "trainning" week. I basically had to pick it all up from screwing around with their system and reading the stuff in their setup binders. He probably is allowed to do it, just doesn't know how. Geez, on my eighth day I came in and the guy was like "okay, I'm off in two hours, no one is coming in, you have to close the store and call in the numbers." (none of this has been explained to me and the manager has only worked with me for 30 minutes tops) "Oh, and here's your key to open the store tomorrow, no one will be in until after six hours then either, I don't know what you're going to do about taking the deposit to the bank (transportation issues at the time) but I guess that'll just have to work out."
So I asked him if he would at least buff the game for me.. and of course, no, he couldn't do that because the machine was broken...
He probably wasn't shown what disc to use when, how long, etc. yet either - I wasn't for like two months. If you have your receipt, the store is quiet, and purchased the games within the week they should buff them out for you no problem. On Friday morning I had them buff out copies of Ace Combat 3, Namco Museum Vol. 5, Brave Fencer Mushashi, SaGa Frontier, and Ehrgeiz that I had purchased at the top of the week. I told the guy in there AC3 and Namco Museum 5 had audio errors (skipping so bad it was unplayable in AC3 and NM5 would lose music all the time) and the same with the other games (FMV skipping in Ehrgeiz, the other games played fine but were scratched a little more than the norm so I figured why not - SaGa had the ugly Disc Doctor swirl pattern in it). It took about 40 minutes to do all five since some of the scratching wasn't bad and they only needed a light sanding and resurfacing - they all play perfectly now. Basically if you want to get used games you just bought resurfaced for free because they have problems, you have to get in THAT week, talk to the manager, or just find someone there that knows what they're doing - but the sooner from purchase the better, or the damage will be pointed at you which is not covered by their 90 day warranty.

If you have an MVP card it's usually only $1 per buffing. Just the same if you had bought the bad game in his store he probably would have buffed it no problem, once you bought something from there they will gladly repair a disc for you.

If you check my earlier post in this thread that's the date I was posting. Originally (as in a few days before the sale began) the confrence call said the sale was going to run until the 29th, and that's what the local store manager (pretty much the only one worth his salt) told me. Then when the print ad came out it said the 22nd.

Not going to happen, GameRush is bombing out of retro, with the GameStop buyout retro is done in the mainstream as well - this leaves GameCrazy as pretty much the only national game chain still buying / selling retrogames - and they know that. If GameCrazy iis to drop anything it'll be the Saturn, if you've been checking in you'll notice a lot of GameCrazy's that had no Saturn games have gotten them in during the sale - these are from their distrobution centers = backlog in the supply chain.

I am too. I bought no less than 75 games at this sale. Maybe 15 GG, 30 N64, 15 SNES, 30 GB/GBC and more.
The really trendy/popular RPGs get nabbed first, as well as the stuff that is valuable outside the stores. There are scads of rare but not marketable titles still available. I think that the Gameboy stuff is the best deal as that stuff hasn't lost much value with SP and back compatibility.
Fun sale. Now to use those $10 coupons you get with every $100 spent or something.
They'll resurface crummy discs for free of course.

This sale was an awesome experience for me. I knocked a bunch of games off my want list and on the cheap. I do however have a few concerns. Is this sale an attempt to sell as many (older) games as possible before they give the axe to offering the classic titles? Has the joining of GS and EB scared GC into a "sell it while we can" strategy? I am left with the feeling that this can not end well...

Signage was pulled and promotion ended on the 21st. It's not like you didn't have nearly a MONTH to capitalize on the sale. Out of the gate there was talk of it ending on the 28th but when the ads came out set for the 22nd and the internal communication calls stated it ended on the 21st, that was that.
Doesnt matter around here.. The 3 stores within driving range were raped on the 1st day. Their stock is going to have a hard time replenishing too due to the low buying price. :/
Please read the earlier posts in this thread, including many of mine. Since the sale was primarly an inventory reduction, additional store-to-store and distribution center to store used game arrivals were coming in CONSTANTLY throughout the sale. Many of those who picked up Saturn games or complete Dreamcast titles did so because these games came in from backloged regional distribution centers.
Their stock having a hard time replenshing? Ha, they're still backloged and if your local store managers are worth their salt then the cases shall be full again shortly. At the closest store the NES case was pretty much refilled twice a week throughout the promotion with stock from the distribution center - same thing with all the Saturn Games, Genesis, Game Gear and SNES.
This sale was an awesome experience for me. I knocked a bunch of games off my want list and on the cheap. I do however have a few concerns. Is this sale an attempt to sell as many (older) games as possible before they give the axe to offering the classic titles? Again, please read many posts earlier in this thread. The sale was not to kill off retro sales and bomb out of the retro business. If there is one older platform GameCrazy may abandon it is the Saturn simply because of the low in/out value of the games in their stores.
This sale was for three main reasons. First, inventory reduction. While your local stores may not get in a lot of older games, overall GameCrazy is backloged with used older titles both in stores that get smaller buy traffic / larger trade traffic and their distribution centers. These numbers needed to be reduced. Second, recalibration of their pricing / value index. $35 - $40 for used N64 games is way too much, some NES games sell for too much as well, many Genesis games sell for too little, etc. Bleeding off excess stock (ie 500 copies of Phantasy Star II) will allow the pricing index to level off, bringing used game prices to a level more reflective to how many are in the channel, how many are being traded in, etc. Third, it's a hell of a way to get the GameCrazy name out there and get traffic into the stores. Many, many, many people that went in for the sale picked up other non-sale games while they were there. Additionally it moved used retro systems that they had in their inventory that otherwise do not move very fast. This is best represented with say, some rare SNES games being 3 for $15 - the person picking them up may have gotten rid of their SNES long ago but look - there's a used one for $25 - SOLD. There are many more examples but I'm sure they are not needed.
Also with the GameStop buyout of EB and GameRush dumping older cartridge games left and right, GameCrazy pretty much knows they're the only mainstream game outlet (even though they're not THAT big) that still deals in the older titles. They're not in any kind of hurry to ditch this market. Also with the sell off of excessive duplicate stock, it means a more diverse assortment of older used titles will be available at each store, in turn driving business by not just offering older games - but offering a decent selection of them.
Brisco

You are correct about the points made except for that the sale has not ended yet. I was at 3 different Game Crazies today, and all of them still had the sale going on. Uh, nope - the promotion has ENDED, it ended as scheduled. You may be mistaken (or the employees were) since the new promotion is somewhat similar. It's "buy 2 get 1 free" but the value of the free game has to be under $18.99 or something.
The sale is done ladies and gentlemen, the thread may be locketh.
