This is a pretty straightforward topic. What is the SD Memory Card adapter used for? I was reading some info on it and I found out that it can't be used for regular game saves - this led me to wonder what the hell it is used for. It is a memory card after all... Somebody fill me in please.

I thought Nintendo was going to release one of those but I guess not.

I don't know if this item has been released over here or not (I don't believe so) - but I know it is out in Japan. I was reading the scant details that Lik Sang had on the product page and was wondering what, if any, use this item had.

I believe you can only use it with one game in japan, the rerelease of Animal Crossing, er Forest. Something like Animal Forest e+...

Just a wild guess, but can you copy saves from a memory card to this, then use it to back them up on a PC?

There is one game only that i know of that uses the sd card adapter & thats doubutsu no mori e+ you can take pictures in the game, that you can then upload to the sd card adapter then store them on your pc.

Umm & thats it, it cant be used as a normal memory card as the game has to be specially programmed to recognise it.

In Doubutsu No Mori e+, it can be used to:
-save pictures
-transfer items
-visit other towns, though transferring the files through email

I have tried all 3, and I really screwed up my game because of it.

There is a small homebrew scene that uses the SD Card adaptor, although to my knowledge, there are not many practical uses for it. I want to find some other games that use the feature, but sadly, it has taken the route that I foresee the GN microphone taking.
