Also, nice Sonic tape in there, the european versions look awesome.

What's on that Sonic 3 tape, promotional game footage? Or is it just standard Sonic toons?

Also I think Cauterize consistently gets the best stuff on a weekly basis. Some people might snag a super rare now and then but this guy gives a neat glimpse into the UK scene.

Thank You, but dont forget Gunstar Hero UK too, Joe brings in some awesome hauls too, like today's lot!
The UK scene is awesome as its not as lively as the USA scene as shown, and prices are rock bottom...

I agree. Every week I look forwad to cauterize's pics on his latest finds. I am always amazed (and a smidge envious) of what he gets. The rate he's going, you wonder if the deals will eventually trickle out?

BTW, I passed on a complete, unboxed NES system, including 2 controllers for $12 at the flea market. It was the only decent find, I must be nuts not snatching it. Still, it was a little crusty looking x_x

Adam's lots are first-class in finds. Not always sure about the condition of some of the items - but that is my personal opinion. His dedication to the cause is quite something. I hope he doesn't give up when real-life comes knocking.

There's been a lot of competition in my area of late at the car boots (South Wales, UK). There are packs of dealers hoovering up everything in sight to sell on ebay or their own stores. I've also noticed that sellers are telling me how much things are worth quoting ebay prices.

Yeah, now that you mention it, there was a sorta rival this morning, he snagged Mega Bomberman and Zero Tolerance (Megadrive, both complete) for 75p each... ended up havin a quick chat with him, he said he was a collector and sells them on when he's played them...

No biggie i guess, but your right about ebay hunters... Lets jsut hope they stock up on SMB/DH carts! oh yeah!

jono
05-29-2005, 11:57 AM
you should see them. they grap every game good and crap though mainly ps1's and ps2's. they tend to leave megadrive's, master systems or any thing they don't recognise. i had a ton of dvd's this weekend for next to nothing though.

Got about 50 NES games today.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68/JumpmanPOE/zzz.jpg

I am officially out of room on my shelves. I have no idea where I am going to put another shelf to hold any more games that I get. @_@
All of those are games that I needed except for SMB3, TMNT, Double Dragon, and Castlevania 3... which are all for a friend of mine.

Notable mentions:
Snow Bros.
Duck Hunt X_x

Might be a silly question, but why is Duck Hunt in the notable mentions. Is that sarcasim or am I missing something. Those are quite common aren't they?

Decided to make an unplanned stop at the Goodwill today. Ended up getting 4 game gear games for a buck each and a brine lacrosse stick for .99.

I had picked up this pretty cool radio as well. It was a sony short wave radio, world band. It was in really nice shape (still had the plastic wrap protectant over the screen), but while I was standing in line I was thinking about how often I would be replacing batteries since there was no AC plug with it. So I laid it there on the "go back" counter, paid for my junk then left. I got home and just on a whim decided to see what they go for on eBay. There are a few nice condition ones that top the $100.00 range, went back to get it and of course it was gone  Oh well, lesson learned at least

BTW, nice game you got there Caut

The wife and I stopped at Wal-Mart today to pick up a few things and I walked out with a new NES style SP and a Gamecube controller that was on clearance for 15.00.

I already own 1 NES SP, but since I hadn't seen one new in a store in a long time I went ahead and picked it up. I'm thinking I may keep it sealed for awhile and see if it becomes highly sought after.

At Savers today:
-A loose black N64 with four sports games - $70.
-A Gameboy SP carrying case with included car charger and magnifying screen (no SP, just the accessories) - $30
-A Dreamcast with one controller, no VMU and no games - $45

At Goodwill today:
-A Game Gear with no games and a car charger - $35
-A round-button Sega Saturn with hookups and controllers but for some weird reason was bundled with a bunch of audio CD's - $30
-A loose untested X-Box with no controls, hookups or games - $40.

...of course I didn't buy any of these things, I just found them (and walked away in disgust). Come to think of it I haven't bought anything game-related in a month and I think I finally know why: my local thrifts have finally lost their f-----g minds.

I know what you mean about thrift prices. One of my local thrifts has a big sign saying "We have Lowered our Prices" . They sure didn't lower their prices on video games. They still have a stack of N64s and PS1's for $10 bare and some of their playstations games are $8.

I think all of the Ebayers are driving prices up. My local TV news was running a special about people giving up work to sell stuff on Ebay.

The next news story they will run is about the guy that was knocked down and trampled to death by 30 400lbs women rushing the thrift store door on 50% off day. LOL

I cashed in some gift certificates and picked up:

PSX Classic Trackball (CIB)
GBA Metroid: Zero Mission (CIB)
GBA e-Reader
N64 Castlevania (CIB)

I also picked up Paper Mario for $20 at EBGames (I'll be sending for the $20 mail-in voucher too). This was the second EB I tried, and I got the last copy of the game they had. I almost nabbed Einhander for the PSX there too. I found the bottom half of its jewel case. The clerk searched high and low for the disc but it was nowhere to be found. At least he let me take the case half I found...

Didn't have time to hit any sales or pawns but did manage a quick stop at EB for the following:

Fairy Oddparents Videos Vol.1 and Vol 2 for GBA

Brand new for $5 dollars each.

Gave these to my kid so that she has something to watch when Daddy's hoarding the TV. LOL

Especially since I have this whole week off. :D

I got quite a good deal today!

After running some errands, my Dad and I decided to stop at a Goodwill on our way home. We have never been to it before, and didn't know what to expect. Well, we head over to the Electronics area, and lo and behold, we found a beaten-to-hell Dreamcast for 6 bucks. My Dad said it wouldn't work, but I thought otherwise, and bought it. Sadly, there were no cords or controllers, so we headed over to a Mall that was also on our way back. We went to the EBGames in the mall, and got the cords, along with Chu Chu Rocket, for another 12 bucks. :D

I picked up two items today I've been on the lookout for a looonnngg time.

Toki (NES) $6...probably only worth $5, but I've had an orphaned box for this bad boy for years, and I haven't seen it sitting in someone's trade box or a GS/EB shelf. Finally.

Carnage Heart (PSX) $5...I remember picking up Armored Core instead of this when they both came out around the same time years ago. Been on the lookout for one ever since...not aggressively, but just in a "I'll pick it up when I see it" way. Didn't think it would take seven years. One of the discs is mint, the other has a few light scratches, and yes it has the strategy guide. Score!

Stuff that I've gotten recently:

- Bubble Bobble for Master System, complete (woo!)
- Final Fantasy IX without instuctions, non platinum (for my brother, since I already had a complete one from when I got it in EB back when it was first released)
- Purple Gameboy Player, boxed and complete (free)
- Sonic N, new and sealed! (free)
- Kangaroo for Atari 2600, cart only (free)
- Phantom Brave for PS2 (I can't believe I found this so later after its release, it got discontinued like the day it came out here and I actually found one! It's most excellent too!)
- Baten Kaitos (same deal, it's already discontinued here)
- Complete still in plastic Japanese Dreamcast Keyboard (free, I love trade ins!)

Caut, give me your Dynamite Dux! :D I love that game.

Hot Shots Golf for PSP for $29.99.

CompUSA was out, so I went to Best Buy. First they weren't going to price match because CompUSA didn't have the game in stock, then they weren't because the CompUSA sale was "Instant Savings" which BB apparently doesn't price match with. About half the staff of that BB got involved, then they decided it was only $10, so they let me have it for the $29.99.

Well it appears to be region free, and 60hz
however, im not entirely sure, i followed a guide at www.mmmonkey.co.uk and he said one switch is 50/60hz and the other is a EURO/ALL switch... however it can play jap games still on the euro switch!

Had a pretty good day today, hit several Goodwills in the area, but for the most part they were cleaned out! It was super busy in each one I visited, even had to make my own parking spot a couple times because the lots were full. Anyways, picked up a few old board games and the following...

Those are Timex Sinclair tapes, never seen nor heard of them until today. 6 bucks for all that.

But got this in the mail today and made me pretty happy (everything except for MM Castle Of Illusion).

$36 shipped USPS priority, all complete and in great condition. Looks like I'm starting to get into SMS games now, currently on the hunt for a Kenseiden manual and a Zillion cover art (if you can help me out, PM me pls) :)

Drove down to visit my folks in South Carolina and met up with a high school friend. Left from there and started a 10 hour round trip to Calhoun, GA to pick up some Atari8 stuff a guy on AtariAge was giving away. Ended up with about 40 carts including some label variations I have to add to the guide, 2 carts I needed, a 200 meg HD, a Black Box and some very cool original software. Very nice of the guy and a nice bunch of additions to the collection.

Also stopped by the Habitat for Humanities thrift store in SC and got a loose Odyssey that had all the pieces. Even came with the Percepts game. Filled in all the holes in the boxed one I own and left me with a bunch of pieces for trade.
