I enjoyed some Atari 2600 versions more than the original arcade versions:

Asteroids
Defender
Space Invaders
Vanguard
Warlords

Likewise for some NES versions:

Bionic Commando
Blades of Steel
Contra
Legendary Wings
Punch-Out!!
Rush 'n Attack

As Zektor pointed out, perhaps the reason I enjoyed certain home versions more than their arcade counterparts is because I had played and mastered the home versions first.

No kidding? Wow, I'd never have guessed. When video game magazines previewed SFA3 for the PS1, they lauded the game's inclusion of world tour mode as if it was the first time that such a feature had ever been incorporated into a fighting game.

Thanks for filling me in. Now, it's inevitable that I'll track down and play the Saturn version of SFA3.

Oh yeah, if you've been playing SFA3 on PSX you definitely need to get SFZ3 for Saturn. IIRC it takes RAM though.
