So close! I managed to get 50,000 at DK...but died soon after. For now, I'll have to settle for that 2nd place trophy. Well, it's the first trophy I've had in a long while!

sorry man, and i hear ya, i dont want to go through that again, that took alot out of me to get the high score. me being forced to sit through a sucky game for a half hour sucked bad. the worst part was that i still had one guy left when i got my high score, but i had a customer and had to let my guy die :(

oh my goodness, i just beat my own score and got 77,000 and i had to go through 28 stages to get there! @_@ im starting to get addicted to this sucky game! you have to be in the zone for sure to play this game!

I'm kind of glad you got such a high school...makes me want to play it less. That glitch just got me again! I didn't mind it so much before but now I had about 36,000 points and hadn't lost a life yet...and then 3 barrels at the beginning of each stage and BAM! BAM! BAM! my game is over! sorry man, i think there is something wrong with your computer, because like i said i played nearly 30 stages and no glitch! its funny because when you said that before about it freezing, it made me paranoid into thinking it was going to glitch but it didnt LOL

It didn't freeze...it just put a barrel down at the bottom of the screen where my character was...and was there each time it went to the next man. I don't think its my computer...whose computer would do something like that? And it hasn't happened that often, only a couple of times. I guess several of these games do have bugs and it doesn't bother me that much unless I'm doing really well. I'll doubtless play again but I'll be curious to see if this bug happens to anyone else.

Well, once or twice it's appeared to the right and I could jump over that. But then the next couple of times it appeared right next to me and it was impossible to jump...there's just no time, even if you hit the button as the level begins. I'll just have to live with this occasional bug and hope it doesn't happen again when I'm deep into a game.

i think i always use the term "freeze" to describe any video game problem LOL sorry about that! anyways i still have not had anything weird happend to me in that game. i didnt mean like your computer is broken or anything but i think sometimes those glitches have to do with things like whats going on in your background. i know i got some glitches in some flash games at a different site along time ago and after i got a pop up blocker, they stopped. who knows? computers have minds of their own :/

Well, I played some more but this time I tried the option where it opened a new window...the game image was a bit bigger and the barrel bug, while not disappearing, didn't seem to appear as frequently. In fact, when a barrel did appear, it sometimes showed up in a slightly different place and I was able to dodge it sometimes. I couldn't beat the high score but I bettered my own so it'll be tougher for anyone to even take second place.

Then I spent the rest of my meseta on lottery tickets so unless this earns me some, I don't even have enough for another game now...

I did it! I beat Donkey Kong! Well, at least I have the gold trophy for that as I beat the high score...okay, I beat it by less than 2000 points but I still beat it. I hope I never haver to play this game again and won't unless someone beats my own score. Even then I'm not sure I ever will play it again. But for this one moment, I can say...

well i spoke too soon about your barrel glitch, because it just started happening to me! i think it is caused by if you finish the board with one of the barrel is the exact right position at the bottom, it glitches and stays there for the rest of the game. now i am scared about getting the high score @_@ but i am off to try it again (it sucked too because i had 60,000 when it happened!)

done with 133,200 and the new shiny trophy comes back home where it belongs :P ironically i was on a really nice roll and the barrel glitch is what took my last life! at least it didnt happen earlier! btw i played on same screen instead of new screen and the glitch happened there so neither mode is safe :evil: man i am worn out...i feel like i have just given birth!

I prefer "new" screen mode because the glitch doesn't seem to happen as often there and when it does, it seems to show up at different places so it's not always certain death. Ah, I had my moment of glory...plus winning that trophy earned me about 600 meseta so I can't complain too much...

Yes, you are very tough. I'm still playing because you can still get some meseta if you're good, even if you don't get the jackpot. I'm going to keep playing until I get to 750 meseta so I can get another of those 750-meseta arcade machines. I can't do it by posting anymore...I've reached the limit. At least by hitting over 90,000 points, I've insured that it will be tough to take even second place from me...

29 minutes later... Well, I got another not-fair moment. I was cruising along and hadn't lost a man yet and my score was at 106,600...when here comes the barrel bug and BAM! BAM! BAM! my game is over. Sigh. Oh well, at least I've enough meseta for another arcade game. I'm done playing this game. For today.

For one brief moment, I thought I might beat your score...then when I passed 100,000 with all my men still with me, I thought "I'm really gonna do this!" Since it's the same round repeated ad infinitum, it really doesn't get harder so it just requires patience for the most part...and not twitching at inopportune times...

My one disappointment is that you don't get credit for 2nd place trophies. Where it says Trophies Won for me, it's 0 despite my second place spot on this game.

I may or may not try to beat your score tomorrow as I do have a few other things going on...need to get a haircut, maybe finally try getting back to walking a few miles a day for excercise and I want to go see a movie...so maybe I'll let DK go until Saturday. Screw that pathetic excuse for a Donkey Kong game, I got the trophy for a game that's actually fun!

Missile Strike (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/activity.php?mode=game&id=77&parent=true) - also available since the weekend, this is a very good Missile Command-style game. The only downside is you can't choose which base you fire from, though the order is consistent so you just have to plan your game around that.
The funny thing is, I always sucked at Missile Command but I find this game very easy. Both times I've claimed the trophy I killed myself immediately after. This time I decided to go down in a blaze of bombs and missiles and actually managed to clear 2 more stages and gain 10k points in the process! LOL

yeah all you have to do is pretty much click on the game and you get charged so make sure its one you really want to play!! also if you short a few meseta, and you havnt done this already, go rate each game, you get 10 meseta per rating!!

I did retake the Donkey Kong trophy late last night/early this morning. I scored something like 154,000 which I figure must've taken about 51 rounds of play. Geez, I must have no life!

Of course, we're now entering the area of "Is it really worth playing this game again" land...especially for how long it will take to win it again once you retake the trophy. At least this time, I've had the trophy for something like 10 hours now so my moment of glory lasted a bit longer this time...:D

What other games are you playing? I like Solingo but I think you can only do so well on that. The top score is 3500 and I think a perfect score would be 4000 points. I figure the person who is at 3500 must've gotten 8 of the words right on the first try and the other two words right on the second attempt. I've managed 3000 points myself but that game is tough...too bad it does have a definite ending. It'd be nice if higher scores were possible.

yeah i like solingo too, i can get pretty high but one f up and its all over. i also like super mario flash which i have the high score trophy in also, but its pretty much because i discovered the high score glitch and exploited it (its a secret! *_* ) but it takes about an hour worth of work to obtain the high score! sadly i will not be able to play DK until tomorrow unless i can find some time so you might just get an extra day of glory! ;)

Well, someone has played DK a bit today...I've seen the jackpot go up a bit today. I look at the high scores and wonder about those who only got 100 or 200 points...did they just play it once and say "The heck with this!"? Regarding Solingo, we need a sexy babe on that page somehow. I've been playing Solingo today, a bit of Asteroids...I've just over 700 meseta now...nearly enough for another of my arcade cabs!

thats cool ,yeah i think as soon as someone plays DK once and sees the frustration if you dont know how to time your jumoing right, they just say forget it and im sure alot of people just try it out but dont like it. hell i dont like it either but now i feel compelled to play it all the time (and i partially blame that on you ;) ) i would like to find a new game to get a high score on pretty soon as i am getting tired of playing DK and super mario all the time. I like the swingball game and i even have like 4th or 5th place but i cannot get passed level 7 and if i could i might be able to beat the score. also i was palying plumber for a while but i dont like how you can only play 7 stages and thats it. but i would have to say my favorite game on here is one you dont even score on and that gold miner. if you havent played it give it a try, its quite addicting! :evil:

Today's "Game of the Day", a new version of Pac-Man, doesn't seem to be working. You click on it and it just brings you back to the arcade page, like you're doing nothing more than refreshing the page. At least it's not taking any of my meseta away...must be a free game...

Four Hours Later... I just found two challenges for my trophy in my DP Inbox...both from the same guy. I guess this is another case of someone clicking on that challenge link without really knowing what it does. I had to laugh because I checked the list of high scores (I guess it actually shows every score since the last listed only have 100 points) and the challenger isn't even listed...meaning he hasn't even played the game. Funny...

Monday...hey, a couple new games are up today (thanks, Joe). I played Home Run Derby several times...I like it. It did take me a few games before I figured it out enough to hit a few homers. I also like when my batted ball hits the pitcher. There's an odd bug in the game, though. After the first game of each session, my batter winds up with his back to the plate. I remember that used to happen a lot in EA's Triple Play Baseball games for the PS1, too (usually when you brought in a pinch-hitter)...

Later That Same Day...Today I've actually played Snake for the first time (the DP version anyway). Snake? It looks more like a worm to me. Ewwwww...still not good. My top score is only about 700 points so far.

Who's logged the most time in the arcade? I passed the 24 hour mark today (at least since this site started keeping track) but I imagine there's others with lots more time than me.

yeah I was a grunt for about two months, and then I saved up enough to get a triforce and got the other job. But as soon as I get two more jobs (not sure what they are yet) I will quit that one. Hey even Link sometimes comes off as a poor boy and a rich boy sometimes! :D

I actually started to feel that way at certain times, not wanting to play it anymore that is. I think the home run derby is very fun but i really wish it had meseta earning capabilities. i wouldnt mind spending a 5 spot on the game if i knew i could get some more out of it. i love pacman in real life, but i cannot stand the cornering on the one in the arcade, it makes it very difficult to play, but even still, i was thinking about try to get the trophy. I think a third one would look nice on my mantle! :D

That Japanese baseball game was built for V3/Nuke (allowing score submissions), and our forum modification now supports V3/Nuke but no matter what configuration I used, the score would not save. I've seen about 5 like that in the hundreds upon hundreds I've tested - I think the Flash game is actually set to save a score in a particular location and it's not found and thus does not return the expected results.

But the game itself was fun enough to keep even without the scoring. Believe me, in those hundreds and hundreds I've tested, there are a LOT of crappy games. I'm filtering that stuff out for your protection, too :)

I just tried Copter. I'm afraid I don't understand the controls on that one. On the other hand, I really like that Missile Command-style game...nice graphics and sound. I will have to play this for awhile. I also tried that bloody Mario game you're the trophy-holder for...you really have to have a good hand for the controls not to die instantly (or close to it) on that game.

copter is pretty easy, there is actually no controls for it you just hold in the mouse button to make the copter "run" and if you hold it in longer you will float up more and you have to just make sure that you dont hit any of the obsticles or the top or the bottom. yeah once you figure out the secret for mario its not that hard but it takes like an hour to get the score so i dread it if someone ends up beating it because i will have to do all that work all over again :(

Nine Hours Later--Well, looks like only one game of DK has been played...still early, though.

Several new games have been added...I especially like the Pepsi Pinball game...it combines two of my favorite things, Pepsi & Westerns! Kaboom! is good, too. I eagerly await to see what other new games are coming.

I think I'm going to run over to Rite Aid and pick up a small pad to keep all my high scores in (both for the DP and certain console games like my arcade compilations)...especially since the free games don't keep your scores. Maybe today I'll see if I can hit every game at the DP Arcade that are currently available? @_@

Gaming Update--I don't think I'll hit all the games today after all but I may try to do it this week. So far all the games I've played today are ones I've played before. Monkey Cliff Diving isn't cooperating, though. I go to that game and the "Loading" screen stays on...it's been on now for several minutes. I know I've played this game before so I'm not sure what's going on there. I guess I'll try that game again later.

Now it's past 9:45...Well, I've lost my 2nd place trophy to Donkey Kong...but the person who beat me still fell by about 4000 shy of beating World of Games for the top spot. I bet WOG is sweating some bullets, though. People say they hate this game but it did get played 35 times or so today. Of course, that may be simply because it's the game of the day.

I did just take the Roulette trophy...my score's not great (only 3500) but how many people can boast they took a trophy from Joe?

Well, I've since lost that trophy...twice. The score is getting tougher to beat but I think it's still within grasp of the average player...

Heh. The DK trophy is getting to that pedestal to where I don't even want to try and get it. Just look at the gap between the top two scores and everyone else.


The new Roulette game is a DIRTY CHEATER. I got the trophy, but I had to get pummeled by extreme bad luck for a really, really long time before it happened.

Slalom I could probably get the trophy if I kept at it, at least with the score being new and low, but it's so annoying. It has a free replay feature, but you have to finish the entire slalom before you can use it. So if you mess up near the beginning of the race, you have to let your character run for another 30 seconds. It may not seem like much, but when you mess up constantly, it feels like an eternity before long.

That means three trophies total for now. Although I might have to work a ways to catch up to Joe's 38 trophies, especially since there aren't even 38 games where I can get a trophy.

The game is wierd, when I got to the boss on the first level (the Mutant Piggy) my score dropped from 15000 something to 7000. I don't know why, it just kept decreasing, then I died. On my second try I got a final score of 15000+ (can't remember exactly) but when I tried to submit my score I got a message saying that the forums where under contruction. Got the trohpy on the third try, though.

I know what you mean by Donkey Kong. I had the trophy a couple of times but I don't even want to play it anymore. I've played roulette and it's kind of fun...but does anyone actually put chips o n the numbers? WHat are the odds of winning if you just put a chip on number 7? I usually just go red or black...that way I usually have a 50/50 chance...or maybe 49/51 since it hits that one greeen "0" once in awhile...

Got my trophy for Clock Legends :D

The game is wierd, when I got to the boss on the first level (the Mutant Piggy) my score dropped from 15000 something to 7000. I don't know why, it just kept decreasing, then I died. On my second try I got a final score of 15000+ (can't remember exactly) but when I tried to submit my score I got a message saying that the forums where under contruction. Got the trohpy on the third try, though.
