Traded in my spare megadrive games from yesterday's car boot sale and got Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Lemmings. I also traded one of the controllers from the broken megadrive for one with turbo buttons (Oooooh, turbo!)
I still can't get the megadrive to work. I'm not spending £8 for an AV cable just so I can sell the megadrive for £8.

Why are there so many eBay wins posted in here? They're hardly "finds", and there's already a seperate thread for them in Everything eBay.

At the flea market yesterday:
Contra (NES)
Balloon Fight (NES)
Buster Bros. Collection (PS1)
$3 a piece
Today at EB games I got:
Metal Gear Solid (PS1, like new, no scratches on case or disks, me likes! :D)
Riviera: The Promised Land (GBA)
$38 after tax.
Word of advise for you GBA collectors. I've been hearing about Riviera's extremely low print run. knowing Atlus, they will probably never do a reprint of this game. Buy it when you can! I got the 2nd to last copy at my EB. They sold 4 before me already! Word spreads fast...

No finds today but I thought I'd mention the broken megadrive I bought the other day is now working so I can trade it in :D
Now I'm having trouble deciding whether to spend £35 on a gamecube or save up a bit and go for a £60 Xbox. Any suggestions? Gamecube has more unique games and is cheaper but xbox is a bit better imo.

Fatal Fury 2 for the NeoGeoCD
only £4, so here's hoping that the emulator for the Dreamcast works, i've never tried it before. I've heard it runs this game good though and if not, then oh well, the shop down the road was selling it for a tenner so at least I got a cheap deal.
Was hoping to get more games but didn't get anything else apart from the latest issue of Retro which I've never bought before due to its high price. It cost me more than the game I bought!

It's a high price because it's got no ads! I bought it when it was once "only" £3.99 and the only ads were about 3 pages in the back. They should really get gamestation, game and EB to put some ads in to get the price down. I'd buy it again if it wasn't £6. Not even the ps2 mags are that much.

hmm, it has some ads but I guess not very many. I guess most advertisers think retro gamers wont buy new things. Its a good read though and I'll probably have to read it cover to cover and also try out the shoot 'em-ups on the cover disc to justify the expense. I realise that when I buy Edge I read everything in it but the reviews section anyway mostly

As I was walking into work to check my schedule this couple stopped me and asked if I wanted to buy some old games. Turns out my manager said that I'm always interested in that stuff and as he was gonna say "Come back tommorrow, he's working then." he noticed me walking up.
Anyway, they had a Saturn and a Genesis system, but both were pretty well beat up, so I bought the Genesis games they had:
Complete:
Jurassic Park
Jeopardy
Ncaa 96 (somethin like that)
Spider Man and the Xmen
Xmen
Cart:
Sonic and Knuckles
Nba Jam T.E.
Altered Beast
$5 for all
Also, while I was in the store messin with my manager's PSP I noticed he was trading in games... watching... watching... @_@ Oh shit MVC2 for the Xbox!

I traded in my spare megadrive today and got £9 for it. Then got a measly £1 for 2 of the games, but I wasn't bothered. I got £5 for 3 of the games the other day. Not bad considering I only spent £10 on the lot. I made £5 and got 4 games.
Today I bought Super Mario 64 and Donkey Kong 64.

Last night I hit Circuit City to see what, if anything, was left from the clearance. Like last year, I wasn't able to get there the first day, so it was slim pickings. Also like last year, I walked away with just one game.
I didn't see any Baten Kaitos or .Hack or even Arc the Lad, but who knows if they had any in the first place. However, I did find two copies of The Nightmare of Druaga, so I got one. I know I know, nothing too thrilling, especially since it could be had for $9.99 at other places before this, and the reviews haven't been very good. I'm one of the few people in existence that likes The Tower of Druaga, though, and I've always been intrigued by the Fushigi no Dungeon series. Ever since I discovered the game on store shelves a few months ago, I've been mildly interested in it.
Plus I didn't even end up paying for it. :P I went there with my mom, and as I was pulling my money out, she asked "How much is it?", to which I responded "10 bucks". Then she snatched it out of my hands and said "I'll pay for it!" o_O I told her she didn't have to do that, but well, whatever. :P
This marks my third US PS2 game (I still don't even have a US console yet), and the two that I've bought brand new are both Namco games (this and Katamari Damacy). (We've also bought Tales of Symphonia for GameCube brand new and Baten Kaitos brand new from Japan.) I'm glad that if I'm supporting any company this generation, it's Namco. They're one of the few companies still taking risks by releasing oddball heavily Japanese in style games in the US, even though a game like Nightmare of Druaga is doomed to not sell very many copies (and Baten Kaitos didn't even sell well in Japan). Also, their localization staff is one of the few that I admire greatly. Their dubbing leaves a lot to be desired, but just about everything else they get right. I honestly wouldn't mind working for Namco of America someday, if I was ever fortunate enough to have the opportunity.

I headed over to a mall to check out a bookstore (where I bought two books) but I did decide to stop at Circuit City since there's a post about a big sale elsewhere. I picked up one $9.99 XBox game, MLB SlugFest Loaded. I'm not even sure what season's stats are in this game... :/

Thanks Caut ;)
They give about £20-£22 each for the NES and SNES in gamestation in my area (Newport / Cwmbran South wales) . And up until recently £20 for a Master system.
I must have had close to £800-£1000 in credit over the past twelve months. (£40 in credit for a really crappy torn boxed copy of secret of mana missing its map and manual you say? why thank you very much because i only paid £4 this morning for it). The largest single credit note i had from there was about £180.

I wish there were some decent bootsales around here. The one I went to last week was the biggest in Reading and there was hardly anything there. :(
My friend has offered me his megadrive 2 with 14 games for free! I don't know what games he's got but I'd take that in an instant. I think I'll hold on to the console as I've only got a Megadrive 1. I have a sneaking suspicion he's pulling my leg and he'll ask for money later. Who gives away £30 worth of stuff for free? (alright, maybe £15 at a boot sale) It could possibly be because he's a mormon.

Reading.... there are some places close to that, you should maybe check out Boots a little father away.
Unfortuantly I seemed to have sucked my bootsale dry, but on sunday there is one in the field opposite my house, twill be like a yard sale (garage sale? I dunno!)

I wish there were some decent bootsales around here. The one I went to last week was the biggest in Reading and there was hardly anything there. :(
One question... what time does it open and what time do you arrive there
Car boots, the main factor is time.. arrive late and the good stuff is gone...
I wake up on sundays at 5:50am, to get to the car boot(s) for 6am... If i went any later id miss out on alot...
I would have definatelly missed the PS2 i got for £6 once (and that is not a lie! ii honestly got one for £6)
Which i then sold to gamestation for £45
Also my Neo Geo AES for £1
A Crystal Screen SMB Game & Watch for £1
Gameboy Colour for 20p
Secret Of Mana for 50p
(these are all true finds! however my AES came boxed but gameless and PSU-less :()

The reason you have to go early is not jsut collectors, but the public too...
If someone sees a megadrive real cheap, they might think "Ah i used to have one of them, id love to play it again"
Trust me, games are hot stuff over here in car boots... and time is the factor!
