It's called lucid dreaming and it's not too hard to learn - I do it all the time. Check on google for some simple tips to recognize when you're dreaming and how to go about controlling them yourself. From there you can even get to where you decide what you're going to dream about before you go to sleep, and explore the dream in any way you want. Amazing stuff, I think.

It's also very addictive and you may get to the point, like I did, that all you want to do is sleep. Reality becomes a huge disappointment when you can have anything you want in your dreams.

I recall a site that used to sell a pair of goggles that guaranteed lucid dreams.

I've had a few of the game-related dreams, one time I found an NES prototype, but I forget what it was. I also vaguely recall a dream where I played the SNES CD. All I remember was that the game looked like Mario All-Stars and had a lot of Mode 7.

I remember reading about those - IIRC, they were supposed to detect the high brain activity associated with dreaming and would then pulse lights to alert you that you were dreaming. I wouldn't pay for anything like that though; there a plenty of good methods out there, not to mention that once you've had one it is infinitely easier to recognize. One of my favorite confirmation-checks is looking at a clock in the dream. Almost every time you look at it, the time will have changed significantly as long as your dream isn't directly related to a time of day or something else that would keep it concrete.

I've had dreams about finding rare games or unreleased games at the flea market and not being able to get them for some reason or another.

Can't remember any specifics though.

I had a dream that there was a King of the Hill game for the Super Nintendo. I was playing the first level, which had Hank going through the alley, and I get to the Hill's backyard and pause. When I came back to the game, Hank was gone and Bobby was running around the backyard with Ladybird.*

And a few nights ago, I dreamed that I had found Castlevania Chronicles for the PlayStation - in longbox packaging.

One time I dreamed I was Frank from Dead Rising, and it was in my school. It was alot of fun (lucid) but I guess that doesn't count.

Last night I dreamed the I was at a flea market and saw Animal Crossing for the SNES (?!). I thought it was rare and tried to buy it but when I got closer to it it faded away and instead of it was some xbox game with a buff guy on the cover...

It's times like this that I wish I could remember what I dreamed about. They always disappear before I wake up. I'm sure I sometimes dream about games though, since I enjoy gaming and such.

As dumb as it may seem keeping a dream "journal" can help you remember dreams better and more vividly.

I've also heard that making a habbit of touching mirrors is a good lucid dream initiator. In a dream it won't be right. It won't be solid or will be more like that scene in the matrix. I tried several years ago but would always wake up when I realised I was dreaming.

I recently had a dream that I was at some "hole in the wall" pawn shop and asked to look through some Game Boy games behind the counter. The woman behind the counter brings out the box. I look through, and everything is priced between $10 and $20. The last few games I saw were multicarts, and the woman tells me that the person who brought them in found all the multicarts at a yard sale. Then she tells me that the store is about to close and asks if I want anything. I told her I didn't and left the store.

I had a game finding dream just last night.

I dreamed I went into this collectables/party supplies/trinket store. I asked the guy behind the counter if he has old video games, he pointed to a stack of PS2 games he had and said you'd probably only be interested in these. I said no I'd like to find much older stuff. He said he had some but nothing good. I asked to take a look anyway. He pointed under this table with a cloth draped over it, he said under there and through the cubbyhole. I crawled under the table, and there was the cubby hole. I stuck my head in and found all this really obscure rare stuff. I remember picking out Tetris for Game Gear ( I know, it was a dream, relax ), some warhammer game, some sealed Lynx games, a Sega Saturn game that had both Shining Force III and some other random RPG. I remember pulling out a stack of these games and praying he was asking some obsurdly cheap price for them. I woke up as I was approaching the counter with them.
