Tell me I'm not nuts and I'm not the only one that does this.
Just last night I had yet another "Panzer Dragoon Saga" find dream, yet I've owned the game for over a year. I still have Action 52 dreams, or of other rare/semi-rare game find dreams of games that I ALREADY HAVE!
Anyone else? Reassure me that I'm just not a nutcase! LOL

Yea, we all have them.....I hope. I'm constantly finding Earthbounds and stuff at Boot Sales. Apparently a kid who used to get US games went to college and left all his games to be sold.

I've had dreams of finding hundreds of games & systems... MANY TIMES IN A ROW!
Sometimes I would dream of a 3 Switch Atari 2600, Other times about lots of Sega stuff. I don't find many Nintendo games in my dreams...
The most recent ones were finding a Darth Vader Atari 2600 for $10, And dreaming of finally buying a Sega Saturn. (I still don't have a Saturn, After a year and five months of looking for one!)

I had a dream that I found Stadium Events for 10.00 at EB so i went to post my find on DP and no one believed me. The more i did the less it worked, and at one point someone even told me to jump through a flaming hoop.

When I was a kid I actually had dreams where I was in a game. Mostly sega related dreams,I remember seeing Sonic a lot. My fantasy zone and golden axe dreams were pretty weird. If I wasn't 5 years old at the time you'd think I cwas on drugs.
These days I dream about finding rare stuff once in awhile. Sometimes there are tons of boxed snes or saturn rpg's and I buy them for very cheap prices . I then wake up in a pretty bad mood because there's no sign of all the good stuff I just bought. I also dream frequently about finding NEC stuff in the wild. Whether it's rare or not it's pretty hard to find it.

weird. last night i had a dream that i got a whole case of Xbox 360s, i opened one up, but it looked like a regular xbox, except shiny blue colored, and with Play/Pause/Fast forward/etc. buttons on the top around the jewel. it was really awesome but strange.
I never have dreamed about games. Being surrounded by BUD girls in thongs, yeah, being the star running back for the Chicago Bears, yeah, had 2 recent nightmares that we were having a nuclear war - freaked me out. But no, never dreamed about games.

Funny this topic popped up. Just last night, I dreamt that I found a copy of Starblade Alpha for PSone at a local Half Price Books. I had the clerk get me the game (it was behind the counter) and to my surprise, when I opened the case, it was a burned cd-r, and I ended up arguing with the clerk about it.

One time when I was out of work I headed over to game stop and my girlfriend told me not to by anything because I was short on cash and I shouldn’t even be going. I told her that I would only buy mega man soccer if they had it. Walked in looked at the SNES games and bam it was right there. And I had just heard about the game earlier that day. So I guess that would be more of a premonition

I have had quite a few dreams where I found cool stuff for cheap, not always games, though.
In the last one I found Gunner Heaven at Gamers and was pretty happy about it until I realized it was the only game in the store. The owner-who I have never met and have no clue what he actually looks like-was there and I asked him what the deal was. He said they were turning it into something else, something crappy that I would never go to, like a fabric store or something. I had mixed feeling upon waking up-on the one hand I did not have Gunner Heaven, on the other hand the integrity of a classic game store was still intact.

The only gaming dream I can remember was when Mortal Kombat came out. After school on a Friday I went to my friends house to spend the night, we played Mortal Kombat from 5pm til 10am then we had to go do stuff with his family. I was exaughsted when i got home later that night and while eating dinner with my parents I kept falling asleep and dreaming I was fighting Scorpion and Raiden and Goro. My parents kept waking me up and telling me to eat and I was flipping out. I finally went to bed and all night I dreamed about fighting for my life and avoiding fatalities. Now that I think about it that was the worst weekend ever.

I have those ALL THE TIME. I'll dream I found some insanely rare game that I hadn't even heard of, then when I bring it up to somebody (usually myself, a.k.a. the other voice in my head) I feel like a real dork. Not because I didn't have the game, but because the game doesn't exist.
I feel even worse when I have one of those dreams where I find some insanely rare game, and even in my dreams I can't afford it. :embarrassed:

get this dream what i had last night. It began with finding the manual for stadium events in my couch. I then proceeded to say " WOW! I'm gonna post this in game finds at dp!" The next part was i found an expansion module for the nes, made by coleco and it only worked for 3 games. P.O.W., Tecmo World Wrestling, and i forgot the other. It attached to the front of the nes and i inserted POW. It turned the game into one exactly like contra. Weird dreams LOL X_x

Quite a coincidence this thread popped up. I took a long good nap earlier today and I had a game related dream that kinda turned a nightmare.
I'm just about to reach the end of Ninja Spirit for Turbografx 16. When I fall down that abyss just before the last boss, all of a sudden I'm sucked right into the game and I'm falling right along with Moonlight (the main character).
I even felt that wierd "Freefall" sensation in my rear, like you're going down a hill on a roller coaster!
Y'know, I think the reason why I got this is because 3 nights ago, I beat Ninja Spirit on my PC Engine Duo-R at 2:30 in the morning.

I had one just a few nights ago. There is a church on my way to work, and they are having a huge indoor yard sale this friday and saturday starting at 7 am. They have been advertising it for about 2 weeks now, but the other night I had a dream that I woke up real early to leave for work on this coming friday, thinking I would stop by there before I had to be at work at 8am. In my dream I found a case of 12 Caltron 6-in-1's factory sealed in mint condition (hell, I dont even know if NES carts came in cases of 12). But anyways, I offered the lady 8 bucks per and she took it! But she wouldnt take a check, so I had to break ass to get to the ATM across the street so I could get some cash. Well, of course when I get back she had already sold them to someone... But at least they guy who bought them was nice enough to let me take a picture with his new 12 factory sealed Caltron 6-in-1's. Nightmarish!
<watch this space for a pic of me with someone else's 12 copies of Caltron 6-in-1, to be posted this Friday>

I had this really, really odd dream once where I found several Super Mario 64 sequels. There was the second, then a third and fourth one. It was weird, the third one was about Mario getting fat and saving a retirement home, and the fourth was about the fat Mario saving an island of retired old people. I woke up and was actually glad to find out they didn't exist...

Back in the early 90's when I was a teen I was obsessed with the NEO-GEO and had many dreams of finding a NEO-GEO gold system and games like Magician lord at pawnshops etc.

My game dreams have really been messing with me of late....
I've had roughly the same dream, the last TWO nights, about scoring a bunch of Neo Geo games on ebay for peanuts. In the dream, I'm opening up the box, doing an inventory of the games, and checking their values on DP.
I have scored a bunch of other stuff in big lots, but no Neo Geo. But this morning, I wake up, walk over to my pile-o-inventory, and wonder to myself where I put my Neo Geo games, until it occurs to me that I don't have any. LOL

Last night I dreamt I found a Sony PSP in my house (My house? It was a lot different in the dream) And one game for it that doesn't even exist: Doc (Something) I forgot most of the name. Doc is all I can remember.
The doctor was 47 from the Hitman series. O_O
I remember rushing to car accidents in police cars, And a taxi wrecking in an area in Burnout 3. O_O
The hospital COULD have been the one that was featured in D (For Saturn and Playstation)
The coverart for the game was weirder.. Didn't even have a ambulance on it. Instead, it had:
A Taxi
A Police Car
And the hitman (I mean, Doctor)
There may have been a policeman standing next to the hitman.
It looked similar to the coverart for Driver, only there was not much of a background and the cars looked like they were crashing into each other rather than facing you. Also the title of the game was in red (Blood red, perhaps?) I also noticed that it was an M Rated game.
Weird.

I'm bumping this while I can still remember most of last night's dream.
I'm looking around at a GameStop, and I discover that this GS has a LOT of older stuff. Three aisles of 2600, NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, PlayStation, Dreamcast, you name it. I ask someone that works at the store about it, and it turns out that this is the GameStop most of the remaining classic games went to when every other GS stopped selling them, and through some agreement with the company, it's the only GS that still takes them in.
I look through the NES games, and I spot some weird Star Trek pinball game. Upon further investigation, it's an unreleased NES game that someone put on a cart and then traded in to GS after they got tired of it. However, they want $17.99 for it, and the cart is dirty as hell (IRL, I would have bought it anyways).
I walk outside without buying anything, and I'm going to the bus stop. I see a cardboard box on the sidewalk that someone just discarded. I look down and there's three SNES games and a few 2600 commons. One of the SNES games is Secret of Mana, and the other two were NHLPA Hockey '93 and one of the Madden games. I grab the whole box and as I usually do IRL on the way home after a game find, I compose my DP finds post in my head.
I own Secret of Mana, NHLPA '93, and an SNES Madden game ('97), so I wasn't bummed when I woke up.
(Also, if it was anything like Metroid Prime Pinball, a Star Trek pinball video game would be AWESOME. C'mon game developers, get it done.)

I just had a strange game finding dream last night. I was out with my mom and for some reason she decided she needed to go to Goodwill for something. (Strange in itself, because she would probably never go there) She ends up talking to the lady behind the counter, so I head over to the glass case where the videogames usually are. Normally it is locked, but today it was open.
As I went through it I remember finding all sorts of things in black NES game sleeves. At first I was excited, because I thought I stumbled across some rare prototype stuff. As I looked closer though, I figured out it was random non-NES crap someone had just shoved in game sleeves. I remember there being 2 weird storage disks for an old computer, and a strange controller that looked like it was for an NES, but had a headphone-jack like plug on it instead of the standard NES plug. There were others too, but I can't remember what they were.
I eventually realized I was dreaming (in my dream) and when I woke up I wasn't gonna have any of the stuff anyway, so I just threw it all back in the glass case and woke up shortly after.

I've had many, many dreams about finding unreleased, rare, and unknown games for all sorts of systems. One dream was in the Middle East in a bazaar, and amongst boxloads of books were crates filled with games for every home computer and system from the '80s, and all of which I had never heard of before.
In the late 1980s, I had an odd video game dream that I still remember a portion of. I had somehow acquired a laserdisc module for the Intellivision. I was playing a game with full-motion video of a woman with green body paint and some kind of bronze armor running in slow motion through a forest, and the Intellivision had overlaid graphics onto a vase/jar she was carrying. So it was crystal-clear video with a blocky yellow vase shape badly interposed into the picture to indicate what kind of vase she was carrying. I can still remember snippets of the game, including the intro screen. It was called Solar Wing. Bizarre. I guess I had just gotten an Intellivision and was really into it enough to dream this.

I've had the "finding rare games that don't exist" dream a couple of times too. The one I remember most detail about involved being at a used game store (which also doesn't exist). On one of the NES racks I found a "rare" copy of Battletoads in a gold Zelda-type cartridge. Unfortunately I was still deciding whether or not to buy it when my alarm went off.

Funny,
I have rare game dreams too. I always dream I got digging through some boxes at a yard sale and find a stash of really obscure titles all minty.
After playing it off like its all crap I offer $5 for it all and they sell it ALL to me!
I usually dream the boxes of rare stuff are sitting around, and I keep wanting to go through them and pick out all the juicy rares, but something always stops me. Then I wake up not being able to look through it all.
I'm glad I dont stand alone with this.

The best one of these I had was when I was hunting for complete VB stuff (mainly a complete system itself). I remember this dream very well, because for awhile, I did not think it was a dream. That's how real the dream was
I had a dream that Nintendo had remade the VB. They had figured out the problem with people getting headaches and stuff so they were re-releasing.
To Celebrate the re-release, they were going to re-release with different colored systems (like the old school fat game-boys when they first came out in new colors, not gameboy color), and also they were putting out the headstrap with it instead of the stand.
Now this was not too far outside of when the VB crashed and burned, so if the problems were figured out, it would not be unreasonable for them to release with a headstrap and stuff.
Apparently I remembered this dream a few days later, and not when I woke up, and it was that I had read about this in some internet article dream, which is wierd (apparently it was also a sign that I read too much slashdot or something), and I honestly thought for about 2 months that it was true, and that I was going to be able to get a new VB with a headstrap and in a cool color. I had 1 or 2 months building up my own hype from my own dream, and then one day (could not tell you which day), there was some "Chat with people from Nintendo online" day at nintendo.com. I thought here is my chance, so I asked about when the new VB's would get released. Yeah, too bad for me.
I later ended up getting just a box for my VB to complete it, but man, I had never had a dream like that. It was so real, that for a couple months I hyped myself up for something I dreamt about.
ive yet to only have day dreams about finding rare stuff ;p
though last night i did have a weird dream about being late to go to the airport and only had 30 minutes left to go, and every time i left to go I left something at home I came back and I still had 30 minutes :|

There was this one time that I dreamed my brother and I got - ok, stole - a cardboard TV box full of NES games and accessories from a little kid next dood that was a pain in the ass. He wore thick, round glasses, and a striped t-shirt.
In the dream, we really hated him for something he did to us, or our house (IRL, I haven't lived with my brother for years). He left the box alone in his front yard, and we took it in revenge.
There were tons of weird stuff that doesn't really exist, like a pair of really cool black arcade controllers for the NES. LOTS of games, Megaman 4 and 5 being the ones I can remembrer ( I own both).
While we took all that out of the box and stored it, I started do feel bad about it. Ok, he sucked, but was just a kid, and we were two grown men. I was starting to consider returning him all that shit, when I hear some disturbance coming from outside. The little kid's house cought on fire (somehow, I knew everybody was OK).
I woke up feeling weird. I was bummed I didn't get all that stuff, but glad I hadn't stolen from a child...

This is all totally nuts, but its funny and TRUE. I Had a drea recently. Not that I found a rare game, but a treasure trove of a ton of NES games. It even had store display stands and other paraphenelia. It was awesome.... then i woke up. :(

I had a dream the other night that I went into goodwill and found an Atari 2600 and tons of sealed games for $5. When I actually went to goodwill the next day I found a NES system with just controllers all taped together for $50. I did find a Mario 3 for $3. When I bought it they made sure to point out that they had the system as well. All I could think was "You want me to pay $50 for a barebones NES? In your dreams, Goodwill."

Dreamt a couple years ago that I was at a Gamestop that still had some Dreamcast games, and amongst them was the "3rd Sonic Adventure game" entitled Sonic: Total Chaos. I was so excited about getting a Sonic game I had never heard of, and bewildered that it had slipped by me.

All of my video game treasure dreams involve finding PC Engine, Saturn etc. imports and Neo Geo games in places like Kmart and grocery stores.
And I don't get laid in those dreams either.

Well, I have another odd dream to share, even if it doesn't involve a rare game.
I'm looking around in some game store, and I spot a couple brand new NES e-reader cards in a display case. There's a woman at the counter and I ask her if I can look at them. She pulls them out. The first one is Balloon Fight-e, marked at $3.99 (IRL, I paid a buck). The other one is Golf-e, marked at 99 cents (which I don't own IRL and wouldn't pay more than a buck for). I decide to get Golf-e for the hell of it, and pay with my pocket change. I pull a handful of change out of my pocket and start counting. Once I get up to 40 cents, I'm interrupted and lose count. Then I get up to 80 cents and lose count again. Finally, I manage to count out a dollar's worth of change and hand it to her.
She's about to hand me the game and my receipt, and I wake up, wondering why I dreamt about e-reader cards in the first place.

I eventually realized I was dreaming (in my dream) and when I woke up I wasn't gonna have any of the stuff anyway, so I just threw it all back in the glass case and woke up shortly after.
That happens to me sometimes. It happened not a week ago, I can't remember what I was dreaming about but I realized I was dreaming and I told someone in the dream. So I was just standing there, Waiting to wake up... LOL
I wonder what could happen if I had control over my dreams. That would be pretty awesome.

It's called lucid dreaming and it's not too hard to learn - I do it all the time. Check on google for some simple tips to recognize when you're dreaming and how to go about controlling them yourself. From there you can even get to where you decide what you're going to dream about before you go to sleep, and explore the dream in any way you want. Amazing stuff, I think.

Heh, talk about a nice coincidence - I was just reading some old Penny Arcade
strips and came across one that was quite fitting for the thread:
It's been awhile since I've read the dozens of online comics I use to, just haven't had the big urge. PA is a gem, good times.
The last "find" I had in a dream took place in some old mans barn that had a sale sign out front his house. Other travelers were there so I decided to stop in and check out what his place had. Wondering around I saw a studio quality reel-to-reel recorder/player and jumped on it. Come to find out it wasn't for sale regardless of the millions of dollars I offered him, even after his wife told him to just sell it to me and calling him a stubborn bastard. Man, sometimes you just can't win.
