Sales don't have everything to do with rarity. Puyo Pop Fever might end up as one of those wholesaler games 3 years from now, that will go for 1.99 on ebay. With $10 shipping, of course.

Er, "King of Route 66" on GC? Am I misinterpreting, are you thinking of a different game, or is it so rare that it's not in the ORG?

This is true, while there are several games that sold worse than NCAA Basketball 2K3 that doesn't automatically make them rare and sought after. To use Sega as an example and because somebody posted the August LTD (Life To Date) sales of all PS2, GCN, XBX games published by Sega on another forum, here is a list of Sega's 10 worst selling games in the US as of August 2005.
VIRTUA STRIKER 2002 (GCN) 11,111
NHL 2K3 (GCN) 10,147
HEADHUNTER REDEMPTION (PS2) 9,436
SAMURAI JACK (GCN) 9,171
HEADHUNTER REDEMPTION (XBX) 8,986
NCAA BASKETBALL 2K3 (GCN) 5,931
PUYO POP FEVER (GCN) 5,610
VIRTUA QUEST (GCN) 4,427
VIRTUA QUEST (PS2) 2,896
SPIKEOUT (XBX) 1,091
Virtua Quest didn't sell but there are still plenty of copies out there.

I can't find a copy for either GC or PS2 ANYWHERE. I also want to pick up both Headhunter games at some point (heard the first rocked and the second blew :( ).
Shame Spikeout sold so poorly. That one had some good Xbox Live potential.

ephemeral fantasia was mentioned a few times. i think it's uncommon but not rare. i remember buying it and not really liking it. i traded it for one of the armored core games with a friend.

Ok, there were a lot of games mentioned that I think will be rare in the future, but there are a few that have NOT been mentioned that I think are already rare and becoming nearly impossible to find.
Forever Kingdom -->Never see this in the wild
The Guy Game --->I've heard it's horrible but I do not see it in any stores anymore.
MetropolisMania -->I don't see this around anymore either
My Street -->When is the last time you've seen this one?
Whiplash -->Very scarce
Now for some games that are still available and fairly recent that I believe will be rare:
Samurai Western
Shining Tears
Nanobreaker
Obscure

Oh, Evolution Snowboarding.
Ever seen it? I don't think you have. Even know it was out? Probably not.
I had to order it from Gamestop.com, never seen it in the wild.

TRU seems to have a buyer who loves Sega games. Other than Gamestop, EB and Ebay, this is the only place I have ever seen Virtua Quest and Spikeout.

I'm going to be picking through their inventory tomorrow, so hopefully I stumble on a copy :(
