It seems it's been a while since a thread like this was started. Anyhow, I have always found them fun, so in honor of all things fun, here is the first question.

If you answer the question correctly, it's your turn todig deep into that video gaming brain of yours and pull out a new question.

Sound like fun? It is. I'm also asking for the original poster of the question to donate some meseta (could be a little, could be a lot) to the individual that gets the answer right.

OK... in the words of a fat plumber, HERE WE GO!

Question 1:

In what year was Id Software's first commercial success released, and what was the name of that game?

HINT - It's not a first person shooter.

Saabmeister

Commander Keen?

Edit: 1990 or 1991

of course depends on what you count as commercial success, but my guess is Commander Keen Episode 1: Marooned on Mars, December 1990

Point goes to Hydrox for his detail. Normally I wouldn't, but he gave the correct year where Saabmeister gave two years. LOL. Sorry Saab.

I award you 200 Meseta Hydrox. Your turn.

Also, if you know you are correct (no doubt) go ahead and give your question. That will speed things up.

Alright, I'll do question number 2, but for whoever gets this right and knows it, please go ahead and ask the new question.

Ok, here we go.

My question: Hiroshi Miyauchi was a composer for Sega in the 1980's and early 90's. What games did he compose the music for? Each correct answer will net you 100 meseta.

EDIT: D'oh, I missed! My question still stands, however.

We should do a trade off, like whoever answers one question will be asking the next question.

I did think of one:

What was one of the most popular n64 games that never came out to the virtual boy (hint: there was actually press about this game)?

Technically it's "Since 1992, Hornet High-Class" but we have a winner! I was thinking the first person to get it would use the "Since 1994" later revision for the home versions but congratulations!

There is a question running right now, let's keep it where you answer one correctly (or the previous question is dead in the water) and then you ask the next like in the first post.

It's absurd to think that any specific answer will be given to such a broad question, I mean Super Mario Bros. pretty much invented the side-scrolling platform genre (I know, Pitfall!, Pitfall II, H.E.R.O. but you get my point) there are TONS of games that look similar to SMB. How about you give us some more information in the question, such as the publisher of this game that Nintendo said looked like SMB?
