Picked up DC Atari Anniversary edition today for $4.99 CAN (apprx. $3.25 US) new. Just watched all of the Nolan B. footage and was really impressed with all of the extra content. The selection of games is decent though a little blurry. Is there a way to run them at exact original resolution? Anyway, doesn't matter, the extra content alone was worth that price.

Well, your TV can't do exact resolution, but I think you're meaning full sized, right? If you go into the options, you can turn off the borders and select an option to play full screen. I can't remember what the exact option is, but the booklet will tell you.
One thing, and this really pissed me off about this game, it doesn't save your options! So you'll have to change that every time you boot up! Grr...
Good price tho. Worth having for the interviews and memorbilia.

I hate to wrest this thread from the depths, but I've been playing this game on my DC for about a half an hour. It's the most I've played it before. Last night, I finally played my Midway's Vol. 1 (Robotron 2084 is great) on DC, so I had a jones for some more retro goodness this morning.
The most I ever played any original Atari system was my uncle's Centipede on 2600 when I was 2, so I missed the boat. I grew up in the Nintendo NES generation...
This game is a lot of fun. Centipede, Tempest, and Warlords are the best so far. The d-pad works better than the analog stick on many of the titles.
However, the controls in Super Breakout seem to be kind of hit or miss. I keep overshooting with the d-pad. I had the same experience with Pong (although that seems to be the nature of Pong). The ball will bounce off the side of the onscreen paddle or break inside bricks instead of the ones that are the farthest out.
Anybody else have any thoughts on this title? Also, anybody here played the PlayStation version, and is it better or different than the DC version?

If I remember correctly, it's funny because all the three different versions I have of it (PSX, DC, and PC) have different features and have a little something the other doesn't have.
For example, I think the psx one has Black Widow, the PC one has "enhanced" versions w/ new backgrounds, color vectors in Battlezone, and better graphics in Crystal Castles amongst other things.
1. The pc version has little optional "extras" you can enable. Such as enhanced graphics in several games like crystal castles, "tracers" or alternative space background in asteroids, or even color vectors in Battlezone. Tempest also allows you to play Tempest Tubes as well..
2. The Dreamcast version has a zoom function where you can remove the border artwork and zoom the gamescreen forward and back to fill up your entire tv or not. I didn't notice it on the pc version however.
3. The psx version has Black Widow which I don't think is in the DC or PC versions
But then again it's been a while since I touched any of them... so my memory could be a little foggy.

I think so. 12 games is a pretty good deal IMO. Also, the FMV of Nolan Bushnell is pretty informative. Of course, I want all to own all of the retro compilations for the system.

I paid $9.99 for mine when Best Buy was blowing Dreamcast games out 2 years ago. I don't think the game is rare, but a sealed copy includes a free sticker with the original Atari logo for people who like that sort of thing.

John Hardie gave me it for free. The DC and GBA version. Yea I play my GBa Version all the time, but my Dreamcast versions still sealed.

I didn't care for the collection, myself. The games are blurry, and the vector graphics in games like Gravitar are next to impossible to see. I greatly prefer playing the games on MAME.

Reason asked was there's a copy (slightly broken case, at my locak EBX for $7.99 I want to get. Deciding between that and an organe-labeled Virtua Tennis really.

I love the Atari A. Edition. I played it for hours as soon as I got it (XMas present a few years ago), I watch the Nolan footage all the time (who cares about the games? It's Nolan!), and it's one of the greatest presents I've ever gotten.
Which reminds me, I need to hook my DC back up with Cvs.SNK... I'm missing some quality time with Iori and Nakaruru... and King...
