So apparently 5/15/06 is the universal reprint of this game, according to sources on the Internet.

The question is, will it look or be a different model or be any different at all than the original release??

Ummm, we got a dozen in about 2 weeks ago, as far as I know it's back in stores.

I'd wager that it'd be the same. Nintendo seems likely to treat it as any other second pressing.

There are conflicting reasons as to why this was not being produced. Mat malfunctions, issues with Konami, etc.....

Can someone take a look at a new one and get the part / model #? Still none around here in Delaware that I have seen.

I've seen two different boxes is the re-release a new box? Does it have a new UPC. A new UPC might be why they delisted it at first.

It's advertised this week at Circuit City, so I would say yes, stores are receving them. There have been sitings at Target stores as well.

I didn't keep up with this thread. Was this game actually discontinued in the end? Because a few of us were saying it wasn't. Just stock shortages, etc.

I was discontinued for about 6 months. The "official" re-release date was 5/15/06 for retailers, but Nintendo.com had started selling them direct earlier around Mid-to late March.

It should also be noted that the rerelease was supposed to have been very limited. Once the shipment sold out, stores are not likeyl to get another.

Possibly. I checked out the rereleased version in the store, and it is identical to the version I bought on the orignal launch day.

The first print was only out for a very short time. They pulled it because of a problem with the pad the UPC was pulled from systems at Best buy etc and then out of the blue it was re-released with the Super Pak box.

Ok the first picture is identical to the 9 copies I bought from Hollywood video and Blockbuster prior to the recall. Can anyone confirm where they got it vs which box they got? Perhaps there was a "rental" box.
