Romance of the Three Kingdoms is my poison of choice. Some people have said Koei should be stoped before releasing another, I cant wait till they bring it to the handheld though.

I enjoy brawling it up in 'Bad Dudes' on the NES every now and then, the introduction sequence and the voice acting are classic. "I'M BAD!"

put me down for driver 3 as well...if there wasn't any on foot missions it would've been considered a great game.
although the driver series always had 1 mission later in the game that was nigh-impossible for me
Spoilers!!!!
-Driver 1 - escort the president
-Driver 2 - Chase Jones' Killer
-Driver 3 - Chase Catalina (or whoever the hell Michelle Rodriguez's character was named)
Spoilers end!
otherwise it's a fun game.

I love Project Horned Owl. Man I bought this one back in late 97 it was really cheap for the time $15 or so.
I was pleastly surprised with the anime cutscenes and fun two player co operation of it. I love how there was chatter between the characters and the control station while you are shooting the baddies throughout the game. :D I still take it out every now and then for some mindless fun.

Agreed wholeheartedly. A decent, now dated, gun game that was universally panned for no reason IMHO.
Eight Man (also on the Neo) is pretty good, all things considered.
Right on! I love Eight Man. Still awesome looking with that fantastic Power Rangers/Kamen Rider vibe. The running stages are still great.
As for my personal choices. #1 would have to be Ys III: Wanderers From Ys. Not universally hated, but widely seen as the red-headed stepchild (couldn't resist) of the series. I think the game is not only capable, but excellent in all of its incarnations. Haven't played the PS2 remake. Too $$$$.
Huge fan of Ghostbusters on Master System. Still love it an play it from time to time. Rather poorly made, but it got the license right by me. Also love Shooting Gallery on the SMS. Those ducks are frickin' infuriating
People have mixed feelings on the original ToeJam & Earl, but with two players it is still fun as hell. Who would have thought walking around aimlessly could be so fantastic. I will admit that you had to be an adolescent in the puffy pants days of MC Hammer and In Living Color to dig it though.
I also like both NanoBreaker and GunGrave, even though they both suck.
Basically, any game gets a chance with with me, but I am never going to like Floating Runner. THAT is true suckitude. What were they thinking!?! (sorry somewhat OT).

NES X-Men and Swordquest: Fireworld are games that I like because of how bad they are. I get to use my strange sense of humor on these games. I like to make fun of anything that is bad and these two games are the games to make fun of. Bad graphics, sound, and gameplay are what I like to poke fun at the most.

Anyhow, I would have to say that I actually like Mutation Nation. It's too hard for me to get through without feeding credits, and it does get pretty bad at parts...but man, there are some nice areas in here! My favorite is actually the museum, that short gallery walkway before you enter the boss room (ram-headed guy who has a t-rex skull come out of his chest - this fellow's on the box art in the back).
i love mutation nation! Its actually kind of a tie between mutation nation and streets of rage 2 as my favorite beat em up ever.

Jaws and Silent Service for NES. The plane flying into the
horizon at the end of Jaws always brings a tear to my eye,
beacause the rich tourists that visit the unnamed tropical paradise
will no longer by massacred by a monster shark. :)
As for silent service, there is nothing more fun then sneaking up on ships that look like
theyre made out oflegos LOL

Karate Kid for the NES - you know you love it
You've got to love the mini-games, breaking the ice, catching the fly, those were fun.
I enjoyed Jaws and Fantavision (some of the most convoluted cut scene ever, but so fun)
I never really heard much about Sky Odyssey for the PS2, but I loved it, still play it from time to time.

I'm going to have to say Fantavision. Hey, I don't regret paying $54.99 for it at launch!

Are Azure Dreams and StarRaider considered crappy games? For some reason I really liked flyingaround on StarRaider for the 2600 with that extra controller with lots of buttons. I had no clue what any of them did I'd just fly around and get mad and start punching the pad. One day I will get that game again and figure it out.

LMAO, this guy in Harvard Square (Cambridge, MA) had a little video game shop and one day me and my boyfriend were there and saw "Incredibly Rare Shaq-fu for the SNES! $325!!!" And we laughed our ass off. The guy did it as a joke because he had a bunch of copies and people kept buying them just because it was an hilariously crappy game. Originally, he had the regular price of like $3 or $5 on it and people went, "No way! A fighting game w/Shaquille O'Neill?!!! I HAVE to see that!" I gotta admit, I have some morbid curiosity to play that game. The same morbid curiosity that wants to see Kazaam or Shazaam or whatever the name of the movie is where Shaq's a genie. So to deter people from buying this monstrosity - or just for a laugh I don't remember exactly, he made the phony sign. That guy's cool as shit, but his little booth kept getting robbed so he moved all video games up into the Japanese import store on the 2nd floor called Tokyo Kid, so at least whenever I'm in Harvard Sq I still run into him. Unfortunately his selection has dwindled since the move. Didn't stop me from getting a Power Pad though!

Aero the Acrobat is actually a very good game. I don't think it can really be considered crap. Anybody that is really into mascot type games, would probably very much enjoy Aero if they gave the game a decent chance. As for Bubsy, ok, I think Bubsy could qualify as somewhat craptastic.
Regarding Aero, I remember an issue of Die Hard GameFan that featured Aero on the cover, and they had a huge 5 page spread on Aero, with Halverson basically hyping it up to the 10th degree. Of course, Halverson is well known for falling madly in love with certain games and blowing them out of proportion. Still, Aero is a fine game, especially for somebody like me that has a soft spot for run and jump type games.

Deadly Towers 8-)
This is considered one of the worst games ever made for the NES, but I personally think it is a spectacular game. The story is very detailed and original, especially for it's time, the music is very captivating, the weapons and special items are interesting, the level design is unique and challenging to get through. I admit that the game is VERY VERY hard, but it is also very fun.

I'll second Sorceror for 2600. It's just so random and awful that I can't draw away from it. That 'music' is beyond awful, but I get it stuck in my head every now and then.
Also, Circus Maximus for Xbox. I put hours and hours of time into this, and really didn't have any issue with controls, as most reviews cited. My only complaint was there was no 2-player co-op in story mode (just in arena matches)

Hah, yes, that's one I like too. Wouldn't call it badly designed, but the wierd hit box on the morning star...and the US versions are much harder than the Japanese...they took away all the asthetics on the cabinet sideart and make it impossible to play. Go figure.

I don't think Azure Dreams is a panned game. It's just a mostly unknown game. I LOVE it though, and I don't know why. But I just had to always reach that next level of the tower.
I also love Mischief Makers. I wouldn't consider that a panned game at all. Same thing with Super Scope 6. I wouldn't count any of those three.
I don't know if I have any universally-hated games that I like. Perhaps the closest would be California Games. For some reason, I've heard that game slammed a lot the past few years. But at the time, I loved it, and my brother did too. I still enjoy it in fact.

I like Aero as well but the game is hard. There are a few stages that if you don't know what you're doing, you can lose a lot of lives - Roller Coaster Rampage, Rotor Ride, Barrel Roll Bonanza, one of the museum stages, and the last stage, Edgar Ektor. The game has a lot of secret 1-ups though. If you finished the game before and with some luck you can get around 50 lives by the time you reach the last stage but you will likely lose about 10 or so trying to finish that stage.

The real worst NES game is X-Men. There are more cases of slowdown and flicker than I have ever seen. The graphics are terrible for an NES game (Only slightly better than Atari VCS games). The sounds give me a headache and the music is annoying. The controls are unresponsive and the gameplay makes no sense at all. It is worse than a sword that makes it look like he is urinating (A reference to Deadly Towers). Super Pitfall is lame too. Super Pitfall is the second worst because of how bad it is compared to the Atari VCS games. At least the control is somewhat responsive. Super Pitfall was not even made by Activision (FCI/Pony Canon) made it. The NES is my favorite system of all time, but it is far from a perfect system.

Tiny Toons: Buster Busts Loose for the SNES. Someone left this at my house back in The Day, and it's been a guilty pleasure ever since. I still pop it in every few months. Not sure what it is...but I enjoy it.
Also, there are folks here and there who sing its praises, but Keith Courage in Alpha Zones seems pretty widely disliked. I love it, though. It, Bonk's Adventure, Splatterhouse and Neutopia are the only TG16 games I keep in constant rotation.

Clayfighter 63 1/3 is a game that I keep coming back to play. There are very few redeeming features, but there's something about it that has me hooked. Unlike Superman 64 pr Carmageddon 64 (both of which are in the running for the inglorious title of "Worst Game I've Ever Played), actually being able to play Clayfighter defintiely increases its appeal.
