I have been reading alot of chatter that Contra is the next game to drop this week, on the konami site, they have a fall time frame, and a price of 400 points, not too shabby.... I hope this comes out this week, that would be super sweet!

I thought there was a limit to the megabits size of the games isn't castlevania sotn more than the alloted size? Bring on the original unreal tornanment:)

its out, I didn't download it yet... but on the xbox forums, people have it in thier player card already.

Microsoft - you guys need to get on the ball and create an arcade stick. I'm sick of playing games that need a percise 2, 4, or 8-way controller and the analog stick just isn't cutting it.

Plus it seemed like they've boosted up the difficulty to "Almost impossible"

I believe there is an arcade stick for the xbox 360. It's the Dead or Alive 4 arcade stick. Not a whole lot of them but yeah it's an arcade stick and it exists.

I agree Disko, the D-pad and joystick is freakin' weird with Contra.

As for the Online Co-op, I did not recieve any lag. I just watch the "ping" level, if it's 4 bars, then I'll play, if not I'll leave and try again.

But good lord the achievements are a bear!

Actually, I have the DOA4 stick. That stick (To me) still doesn't have that 'arcadey' feel. The click between contact points kinda hinders the controls in some games I play with it. Other games - this thing is a godsend. Contra, it unfortunately hinders.

I think I'm just a little more upset over how insane the difficulty has become.

Plus I always though you could fire downwards while standing still, too.

Its a fun game, I've already played through it on Easy. The achievements look to be pretty easy to get.

It's just a futuristic Twisted Metal clone with a really god-awful control scheme.

Namco is showing us some love.... kinda.

New Rally-X is up, and all the Namco arcade games that have been released (galaga, pac-man, and dig dug) now have picture packs to go with them.

Each picture pack comes with 12 pictures and cost 190 MS points. With the exception of New Rally X, which cost 160.

hehe, yea i havent only made it through 1 of them things, gets hard with bullets flying everywhere. i made it through and at the end it just gave me an extra life and put me back out to my vehicle

No arcade release today, (1/31/07). But today the GRAW 2 demo is up. I'd hafta say they spat this out in a hurry. I haven't played it yet, but it worries me they got a new one coming out so soon after the first.

If you think about it, most of the work was already done for the first GRAW. Write up a new story, tweak the gameplay, make new multiplayer maps and there you go...a new GRAW. Considering the minimal amount of work they had to do, I'm surprised that more sequels don't come out as fast as this one did. Regardless, I'm still looking forward to GRAW2.

EA put up a demo for NBA Street Homecourt today, the Def Jam Icon demo due yesterday was delayed (Whats with demos getting delayed these days?).

Overall NBA Street is pretty disappointing to me, I enjoyed the other titles but this one just isn't that fun. Usual EA treatment on this one, slight visual boost and some other small features.

Actually, I think the Ninja Turtles have been debunked. And I'm getting a little iffy about SOtN. I'm willing to bet MS charges 1200 points for it. And yes - Alien Homonid is this weeks game.

Played the hell out of it... its great.... I know its only 3 innings, but its so far super sweet... the graphics and feilding are nice... well done 2k, the camera's and presentation are nice, and so far the comentary is ok... but there isn't much to go on..... so far 9.0... only a demo.

Has anyone really played very much of Heavy Weapon? That side scrolling tank game? I played the demo and liked it, but if the rest of the game is that easy and simple, then I won't buy it.

I LOVE Heavy Weapon. I was worried about length/difficulty as well, but believe me, it ramps up BIG TIME around Level 13/14/15. I'm currently stuck on 15, just an insane amount of stuff flying around the screen. The last 9 levels are re-treads of the first 9 with more enemies, but the core game is so fun and challenging it's no problem. Heavy Weapon is really a dream-come-true for old school arcade fans IMO. That same addictiveness that brings you back again and again to play the same level. Online is pretty crazy too. I don't work for the company, I just love this game, lol.

I like the Winning 11 series, but it seems like they didn't do much graphically in the jump up to the 360. It's still a great game, but it doesn't LOOK much different than the last PS2 offering IMO.

Yes. The minigames are still there.

Including the addition of online multiplayer for most of them. Including the PDA game.

I felt the batting controls in particular were a little "floaty" and without precision, but it's a short demo so who knows.
