Mine was a complete Sammy Lightfoot for the C64. I bought it for $2 from Goodwill. The only reason I bought it was because the woman working there was nice enough to dig all of the C64 carts out so that I could see what they had. I didn't really want any of them, but I picked that one because it looked cool. I ended up selling it for around $50.

Caltron for NES. Me and a friend found it at a flea market... it was only $4 (instead of $5) because it was a 'bootleg'.

A copy of SMB/DH for $0.50!

How is this rare? Anyways, I bought a lot of video game accessories, I found Action 52 with rental box.

I've found Basic for Intellivision with Cart and Storage Cassette with instructions and ads for $1.

Q Berts Qubes I have from a friend of mine.

I knew FF7 was rare but I couldn't pass it at goodwill for $6...mint and black label.

Six Switch Atari 2600 in box with games at garage sale for $20.

I paid $200 for N64 in box with 15 games in box plus an NES in box with 20 games in box including Contra, SMB 2 and 3, Dr. Mario and others.

3DO not for resale demo disk. $.50

If I can think of others I will add again.

I bought a Myriad 6-in-1 cart for the NES for $3 at a local flea market. A year or two earlier I bought a (beat up) boxed set of Samba De Amigo Maracas for $5. I've also bought stuff that became rare farther down the road later on, like Stadium Mud Buggies for the Intellivision.

I got Bust-a-groove PSX complete for $4.99. I didn't know it was rare until I saw the DP guide.

I was browsing the Buying and Selling forum here when I saw someone offering to sell Metal Gear Solid: Subsistance LE for $150. The game had just come out and I thought the asking price was a mistake or mis-print. I decided to pop into my local EB/Gamestop and look for a copy the next day - just in case I was about to miss out on something. I asked the guy behind the counter if they had any and he unlocked a cabinet and I saw he had three. He pulls one out and asks me if I had pre-ordered it. I shook my head no, he shrugged and sold it to me.
I have always wondered if I had snagged a game someone else had pre-ordered and had totally wrecked that poor bastards day. That thought kind of bums me out, but I feel very fortunate to have found a copy so easily. I have no idea how rare Metal Gear Solid: Subsistance LE is, but it goes for some kooky prices on Ebay now.

I purchased Pirates! Gold for the Genesis for $4 and also got Suikoden II for $10 at the same store. Both were purchased with trade stuff.

I'd forgotten, but the same thing happened to me. Same price even.

I just had one a few hours ago - while rummaging through some old games in somewhat disorganized piles at one of my fave junk shops I found Puyo Puyo for the FM Towns Marty. Great, need some software for my new Marty, only a few bucks. Look it up on the rarity guide just now, it's an R7. Nice! I figured it was somewhat rare since Towns software is thin on the ground, but not r7 rare.

A loose Boing! cart for the 2600. I found it amid a bunch of old PET computers in a decrepit textile mill turned Flea Market...it was $1

I almost forgot, I picked up this old '70s looking stereo kind of thing that had the Atari name on it. Turns out it was an Atari Video Music. Power cord was cut off, though. Still, not bad for $4.99.

I bought a complete copy of Zero: The Kamikaze Squirrel for SNES for around $7 at a used game store several months ago. I wanted it just cuz it looked decent... not because it was rare... which I didn't know at the time. Looked it up a few days ago and found it to be an R7! I think it's the rarest game I own now. Maybe not the most valuable... but more than likely the rarest.

Return Fire and Psychic Detective for psx. I figured that they would be uncommon at most....but an R7 and R8 right next to each other? Plus they were cheap as hell.
