Tonight I was watching the Million Dollar Price is Right special and was surprised to see an arcade machine make an appearance. It was where the four contestants had to see who could be closest to an item and whoever was got to go up to try for a really big prize. The item the four had to bid on was a stand-up machine that was apparently a 2-game machine...they showed the Space Invaders part but mentioned that the game also included Qix. If I recall, the person who won was a gentleman, probably in his 60s or so. I suppose he could have let a son or grandson have that particular prize...

wish I had seen that part, wifey was busy flipping between Idol and TPIR all night... What was the price of the coin op that they showed? Just wondering, as it always seems the prices are either way too high or way too low compared to prices around where I live

I'm afraid I don't really remember but I'm thinking it may have been 3 thousand-something...

I saw when they showed that part but the machine looked kind of small. I think the price was 3500 for it.

I remember back around '81 or '82, one of the showcase showdown prizes was a Galaga upright, Pac-Man cocktail, and a rock-ola jukebox that played those old viny 45's.

And one thing I remember to this day, was the guy passing on it! I would've been all over those!

But how did they PRONOUNCE that? :-)

There are still arcade uprights and pinball machines from time to time on the normal episodes.

They had a Simpson's pinball and a Re-Volt cab on during a regular episode last week if memory serves.

Just what I was going to say. There are arcade cabnets on every once and awhile. I've saw a Mr. Driller Arcade Cabnet on like two different episodes. I love PIR, too bad I'm in school when it comes on.
