Went to some garage sales today and found the following four NES games:
The Simpsons: Bart vs. The World
Abadox
Rolling Thunder (with the Tengen sleeve)
Joust
$1.00 each
I hardly ever see these games. How common are they?
She had an NES w/ 2 guns and at least 2 controllers, Game Genie w/ manual and and hook-ups in a box, but wanted $50.00 with games (about 10). She also wanted $80.00for an N64 w/ mostly sports games!

When you come across people asking too much, tell them that it is hardly worth that, if you feel like getting a good deal and being nice = actual worth(give or take), but if you want a great deal = what you want to pay for it(make it sound reasonable). It usually works for me but i have never bought any of the stuff I did this on(go figure).

Well, today was a very good find, not mindblowing awesome but man I tell you what -- the actual experience was awesome.
So I found this guy's ad selling loose SNES games. He said "no rarities but I'd sell them cheap -- $1 to $4 cheap."
I go to his store, and he looked oddly familiar.
I told him that.
He said the same about me.
Then I figured that he was in my group in the class "How To Create A Meaningful Life" back during our freshmen years in college. We laughed and all that.
I looked at the SNES games. Nothing of real interest popped out at me, but then I saw...
KNIGHTS OF THE FUCKIN ROUND!
I cheered silently (somewhat hard to find game, and it seems to command $12-$18 loose on eBay). I also saw Power Instinct (another fairly hard to find game).
He gave me:
KotR $6 (sticker price $10)
PI $4 (sticker price $8 but label is not in great shape)
SF 2 $3
Super Soccer Champ $2
Super Baseball 2020 $1!!!!!!
Man, I been looking for SB 2020 for a while, it's 9.99 at Game Crazy, and the one time I saw it for a cheap $4 someone bought it before I could. To find it in great shape for a buck -- that's awesome.
I walked away with 5 wanted games, all for 16 bucks. Plus I find out my ole groupmate bud... he owns his own little game store, and has owned it since the age of 20.
I drove home all happy and shit, lol. Seeing him doing well (I was totally expecting an old Mexican fella), getting a nice deal on 5 games... it was worth the 80 mile drive. 8-)

OK. I am going to try posting just one finds post per month. That way I have one big juicy post full of visual goodness. So here we go. These are my finds for the entire month of March. There will be no more as I will not be hunting again until April.
http://alaimolabs.com/Marchfinds1.jpg
Insector X, Zoom!, Ms. Pac-Man, Junction, and the Super Hang On manual were all free from one of Ms. Jibba's co-workers. Combat Cars I paid $3.99 for, and PGA Tour Golf was $1, but I got home to find that I already had it. Needed some of the documentation though.
http://alaimolabs.com/Marchfinds2.jpg
The SegaCD unit was $2.29, and came with the AC adapter. Works great! I have needed one for a long time, as I have several SCD games. Blockout was also free from Ms. Jibba's co-worker. I didn't just find a power pad manual, I found the pad, too. I just didn't want to take a pic. It was about $3.50 and is in nice condition. That's the original release of X-Wing for DOS, and it was about $4.00. Worth it though because that was one of my favorite games when I was in high school, and definitely something I want to be a part of my collection of boxed DOS games.
http://alaimolabs.com/Marchfinds3.jpg
This is all stuff that I bought from DP members. Te three JAP Saturn games came from ClubNinja, and the 4 GB games came from GrandAmChandler. Both lots were about $25 shipped.
http://alaimolabs.com/MarchFinds5.jpg
OK purely from a computer nerd standpoint, this might be the coolest find. A NEW IN BOX 387 math co-processor. I don't know if the box used to be shrinkwrapped or anything, but the chip itself is still sealed inside a plastic tray inside the box. This is a cool addition to my collection of computer stuff.
I also bought Capcom Generation Vol. 1 (1942, 1943, and 1943 Kai) for JAP SS from DreamTR. I don't remember what I paid him for it. Maybe $14 shipped? I am trying to get all 5.
http://alaimolabs.com/MarchFinds4.jpg
Just got this stuff yesterday in my last hunting trip of the month. Ecco and Star Trek are both complete and were $3.00 each. Came home to find that I already had Ecco. Oh well. How to Win at Super Mario Bros. Games was $1.25 (bringing my collection of Jeff Rovin books to 5 volumes) and the Mario Paint guide was $1.50.
OK that's it! I'll post again in a month!

Well, the flea market was a major disappointment today. Two of the vendors that carry a lot of electronics (including VG's) were nowhere to be found... All I got were:
Ridge Race (PS1, longbox w/o damage :D, complete): $1
Heavy Barrel (NES, w/ sleeve): $3
So I decided to stop at a game store in the mall nearby. I managed to get a few good items:
Mystic Defender (Genesis, complete): $3.99
Super Thunder Blade (Genesis, complete): $3.99
Run Saber (SNES): $4.99
Axelay (SNES): $4.99

Also, I must say, that's a good idea Jibbajaba. I think I'll also limit my postings in these threads to once a month, documenting what I collected on each date that I do so. It'll keep the # of posts for people to read down, plus it makes sense since these are monthly threads now.

Man lemme tell yall something this has been one crazy weekend!
1st I run into an old college groupmate buddy I hadn't seen in 5 years, buying 5 SNES games from him for a lowly $16 (tax free too!) then today, I met a fella of NG.com. We had a deal and since he lives 25 minutes or so away, I figure I'll come over. We got to play some games and it was very nice.
Then I drove up and around the mountains... to meet a guy who was selling Shadowrun SNES cartridge only for $10. This game goes for about 12-18, and $10 isn't the best deal ever but what the hey. Also, there was a Game Crazy I wanted to check out around the guy's place.
I stopped by GC first and bought Inspector Gadget (SNES) for 5 bucks. The employee looked at me like I was crazy because I drove 50 minutes to get here. And to buy just one game -- a Super Nintendo game no less! Not only that but Inspector Gadget?! Oh man, when I asked him do I take Park Avenue on Southbound, he nodded yes and the look on his face was priceless. A look that said "This is one SICK SICK motherfucker" LOL
So I'm looking for this street, and I come down this long one way road... to the backwoods area.
AW HELLS NO bitch. I seen one too many horror movies to fall for this shit. By now it was DARK. I turned around 82-point turn style... and floored the hell outta there.
I pulled up to this fella walking the streets. He appeared to be a strange fella, but as soon as he talked, he perked up and seemed like a normal human being.
"Ah I know where that street is. Take a right here and another 1st right. But be careful," He warned. "That place is crazy. I should know. My boat is down there and some punks stole [technical boat term here]. Lock your doors." He gave me an odd look.
Ohhhh kay.
"Thank you sir."
I get to the street and call the guy up. Never met him before, just found an ad of his. His number in my phone simply reads SHADOWRUN, lol.
No freaks, no mutants, he was a fairly average looking fella. We did the exchange and I drove home sweet home at long last. Between the visit with Shawn and driving through the mountains, it ate up 5 hours of my Sunday.
I'm so glad to be living in the city. I can't imagine life elsewhere....

The past couple of weekends have been absolutely insane for me! I've bought so many games! Let me see if I can run down some of the bigger titles.
1943, Popeye, Spiritual Warfare, Kickle Cubicle, Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Power Blade, Adventure Island, Three Stooges, Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy, Quattro Sports, Tiny Toons Cartoon Workshop, Contra Force, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (Taito), Bart vs. the World (all NES).
Actraiser (complete), Ogre Battle, Mega Man 7, E.V.O. (all SNES).
Descent (complete, longbox), Kiss Pinball (minty fresh) (all PSX).
Shining in the Darkness (complete), Phantasy Star IV (complete, waiting for it to arrive) (all Genesis).
Night Trap (rerelease, complete) (Sega CD).
Revolution X (complete) (Saturn).
F-16 Fighting Falcon (complete, card format) (SMS).
Donkey Kong (complete) (7800).
On top of all that, I ordered a Tapwave Zodiac, model 2, complete, from Amazon.com. It should be here in a few days.
Even though I got some really good deals on all that (I only paid $25 for that E.V.O., and it's in beautiful shape), I spent more money than I really should have. So I'm gonna have to curtail my spending for quite a while after this. But it's all good. I'm very happy with some of the stuff I've found.

[quote="videogameking26"]Went to Wal-Mart tonight to get some groceries, got them and:
Super Mario Advance (GBA) $29.99
Castlevania: Double Pack (GBA) $19.99/quote]
Wat a minute...A Wal-Mart that has Castlevania!? The "Wally World" in my town doesn't cary anything Castlevania, InuYasha, and Fullmetal Alchemist, but they will carry Grand Theft Auto (Even the one you can DL the "Hot Coffee" mod for) and even (Until the recall of it) The Guy Game! WTF?

A really good find today for me.
I was going to go to gamestop and pick up a ps1 memory card so I could dedicate it to suikoden 1 and 2 (just got 2 from a friend a few days ago and want to play through 1 again to use the save data)
a few days ago I picked up chef's love shack for psx, but I decided to give it to the security guard where I work (he's a big south park fiend) so today I find this at the thrift:
http://www.green-ranger.com/nes/finds/toaster.jpg
the dc games were all priced at 8$ but I got em all half off.
the psx was 20 again half off and it came with a memory card all hookups and a brats kareoke cd? but yeah noot bad for 10$, since a used memory card would proably have cost me 5-8$ at gamesuck..I thought that was quite a deal..and its a 5501 so it has the back port yay!
the nes came with rf only but was only 8$ (4 with discount) and the teddy ruxton was priced at 3 but stuffed animlals were 50 cents today, so yay (the book incidently cost me 1$...)
overall a good find day for me, if anyone is interested in any of the dreamcast games they are all up for trade (not a big dc guy)
soul calibur
chef's love shack
power stone
test drive 6
sonic adventure
toy commander
chu chu rocket
namco museum
nfl2k
trick style
rippin riders
and my roomate gave me some suikoden 5 artbook with cd thingie (proder thing i guess) and a final fight comic book.
all in all a good day for me :-)

Today I got BioMotor Unitron, Neo Turf Masters, Pacman, Cotton and Samurai Showdown 2 for NGPC. All complete in UK hardcases with all docs and in minty condition. The Pacman still had those little plastic rings sealed in the baggy! Oh, and it was BOGOF on some games, so I ended up with Virtua Tennis for the DC as well.
Very impressed. They did have Dark Arms, but it was £30. Hmmm...
I picked up Nightshade at Toys R Us for $10. I'd been looking at the two copies of it they'd had in stock for months... then today there was only one, so I snagged it. Now it's just going on the shelf next to Shinobi, maybe someday soon I will get around to playing them both.

Between yesterday and this morning's yard sales, I found some really good stuff. I found this stuff last night!
Thrift Store
Boyz II Men Motownphilly CD - $3
Summer of Sam sdtk CD - $2
Wings Greatest Hits CD - $2
Gamestop
Chocobo's Dungeon 2 (PS1, complete) - $11.69
Mort the Chicken (PS1, complete) - $2.69
EB Games
Darkstone (PS1, complete) - $2.69
Disagea (PS2, complete) - $40.49 :D
Suikoden III (PS2, complete) - $25.19 :D
Soccer America (PS2, complete) - $8.99 :eek 2:
And I found this stuff this morning at the yard sales!
PS one system with Interact controller, power supply and AV cord - $30
loose VideoNow player, preview disc (complete), Fairly Oddparents 3 pack (complete) and Spongebob Squarepants pack (complete) + RC Revenge (PS1, complete) - $15
Then the weirdest find of the morning...I walk up to another yard sale and ask if they have any video games. The young girl says, "Yeah, we've got an Atari over there." I look on top of the box of stuff, and there's a factory sealed copy of Xevious for the 7800. :eek 2:
Then, inside the box were various Atari magazines and what seems to be 800 XL and XE computers with a printer, Wico joystick and a gun (?) and instruction manuals. There were also 3 loose cartridge games inside the box: Bug Hunt, Flight Simulator II, and Peanut Butter Panic.
I'm not really an Atari computer collector, persay, but if I can get this stuff working, I will probably keep it. Oh, yeah: grand total for the Atari stuff was $13. She wanted $20, but all this stuff was untested.
I might consider trading the magazines and the Xevious game. I'll keep you guys posted.
Edit: I guess Xevious ain't rare...
