Greetings everyone!
It's that time again! No, not election time, ECGXpo time! It's time to start getting your excess collection together, it's time to start booking hotels, it's time to get your game on!
ECGXpo is taking over the Riveredge Complex in Reading, PA! August 26th and 27th will be the weekend to remember as the days ECGXpo took over the gaming universe!
We already have a handful of vendors signed up for tables, a bunch of coin-ops lined up from our 3 year arcade sponsor, Challenge Arcade, tons of GREAT and exciting events in mind, and oh so much more that I HAVE to contain it, even if I don't want to!
If you've been to previous ECGXpos, expect what we've had there tenfold! EVEN MORE VENDORS, MORE FREE PLAY GAME STATIONS, MORE TOURNAMENTS AND CONTESTS, MORE FREE STUFF (and let's face facts, who doesn't want free stuff?!)! If you've not been to ECGXpo; what are you waiting for?! Make ECGXpo this summer's gaming destination!
The official ECGXpo website is up and LIVE with information on the show, with more and more being posted as we have it to announce! Check out all the goodness at http://www.ecgxpo.com !
EDIT by GAC: Globalled and Topic changed since it is this coming week.

at this point i do not know if i can make it again this year, but it seems it may be possible if i save up about $1000 this summer, which actually doesnt seem like too hard of a task. im going to try my best to come again this year, because the september 2005 ECGX was probably the most fun ive had in my entire life, and i know this year will be even better.
so count that as a maybe from me, that has a 99% chance of becoming a definite yes.
for anyone not sure whether to attend or not, I suggest you do, you will not regret it.
Sweet... can't wait... weekend before my B'Day, I'm sure I'll be buying lots of early B'Day gifts for myself :) .

ECGX is always a great time. Different place, different time of year should make it more interesting. I'm looking forward to it! :D
Please, someone bring a complete Tank Command for me. Thank you.

Where are you at? Someone from this board could probably pick you up on the way if you're not a freak (well, maybe even if you are), and chip in on gas.

I reserved 3 tables a week or so ago.
These guys really invested a lot into this show two years ago when they gave out free tables and admission, I'll never forget their generosity and I'm really glad to see this show grow.

Soooooooooooooooooo how's the P.A. system situation looking this year? ;)
Hahahahhhahah, the most frequent complaint from last year. 8*)
I've not tested it yet (but it will be done before the show), but it looks good. There's a stage built into the room (think high school auditorium stage) and there are speaker boxes hung from the ceiling at the front, middle, and rear of the room and the gentleman that I'm booking the event through assures me they're quite loud. I pointed out that the Inn at Reading told me that theirs was a good system too. He said not to worry. So I'm putting my faith into the PA system this year. 8*)
Bring on the Show! Yeeehawwwwww!!!

Well, there will be games, and vendors, and tournaments, and such.
No special guests this year (unless someone's planning to drop a cameo). We have close 60 tables sold, so there's definitely as good assortment of vendors and such.
As for the arcade, unfortunately that's the only area that won't be improving this year. We're expecting 6-10 coin-ops and that's about it. A tentative list would likely be: Donkey Kong Jr, Mr Do!, Killer Instinct, Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat II, Bubble Bobble, Crystal Castles, and perhaps another.

:( Anyone going up there from the DC area? I've got a LOT of games, I'd be glad to bring one or two (all I can fit in the van), but if anyone else is going up from this area and wants to lug a game or two, let me know. I think I'm only gonna be there Saturday though.
I assume there's no problems bringing games? Any suggestions? You can see my list of games in this post: http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36146&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=25 . Of course I won't be bringing anything huge, but I was thinking about maybe a Pinball and Ice Cold Beer, but if the vids are gonna be short this year, maybe I'll go with them.
I was thinking about picking up a Warlords cocktail again, but I haven't yet... if I do I'll definately be bringing that again. I might be bringing two friends this year, so I might be limited by that too :P .

If you bring any machines man I'll give ya' a free entrance pass for the show. Of the games on your list, if you'd bring any these would be the one's I'd like to see (in order preference) Top Skater (... I can dream can't I?) Ms Pac-Man, Q*Bert, Tempest, Joust, Galaga, Pac-Man, Berzerk, Centipede, Mr Do's Castle.
To be honest man, I might even be willing to pay for a U-Haul for ya' if you wanna bring a dozen machines with you. Drop me an e-mail at chuck@ecgxpo.com and we'll talk.
As much as I'd love to bring a dozen games, there's no way I could talk my friend into going through that again, especially for just a weekend. We just picked up and unloaded about a dozen a few weeks ago and that took a LOT of effort. If they were all easily accessable and not up/down stairs maybe, but where they are now there's no way.
If there's not already gonna be a Ms. Pac, I'll definately shoot for bringing that. I'm not sure how much room will be left in my van after that and if another friend comes along too, but if I can fit another in, I'll bring two.

I thought about the Ms Pac, I think ArcadeTees.com is bringing reproduction Ms Pac cabs for sale, so perhaps like Centipede or Tempest would be better.

As far as action figures, although we don't normally stock them, I happen to have a MegaMan 4 figure action pack which funny enough I already packed to bring to the show.
Arcade marquees, we do have about a dozen marquees in stock right now, any particular games you are looking for?
Sega Dreamcast games - all of our titles are complete and we are bringing approx 100 different Dreamcast titles to the show...
And if I didn't mention, ALL of the Saturn Imports are complete and we even have several of the PREMIUM versions of the imports (nicer booklets, packins, stickers, etc.)
Also coming are some original sealed PlayAround Adult titles for the 2600, Panzer Dragon Saga - MINT, autographed copies of NES and SegaCD titles, etc.
See you next weekend!

Just bringing lots of cool, random stuff to sell - and since I'm trying to pay off a bit of debt I've incurred recently, I'm going to be selling my stuff for cheap - the less I take back home, the better for everyone, my wallet included!
And if you met/bought from me at CinciClassic earlier this year, you know I speak the truth!

Anyone want to or need to split the cost of a room at the venue? I don't particularly want to pay $71.99 x 2 just for a room for myself.
Personally, I don't care - I'll sleep on the floor in a corner and be the most quiet and unobtrusive of anyone in the room both nights if I can save at least half of the cost. $150 is a lot of money to me, especially since all my friends bailed on me at the last minute! I could use part of that for gas and food on the way up since it's like 6+ hours.
Shoot me a PM!

Well I guess I'll be the first to post my impressions of today's show. I was there from opening (10) to around 3:30. Pretty much the show felt like it did last year, but that wasn't a problem. There were a good selection of vendors and everything just had a nice personal feel to it. The arcades, while small in numbers, had some great titles like Punchout, Marble Madness, Street Fighter II and Killer Instinct. I also got to meet a few new DP members in person, Meancode and Downfall.
What really set this show apart from last year were the deals. I can honestly say that my finds today were probably the best of the year...maybe the best of my life. My current passion has been the PC Engine/Duo and I never in a million years guessed I would see any at the show, let alone what I found. There was a guy selling a ton of highly sought after titles for all systems, along with great systems themselves. He had rares from NES, PC Engine, Saturn, Neo Geo and all of it was going for very very fair prices...good thing we got there for opening ;)
So, here's what I got (all games are complete):
http://www.libertyshred.com/nick/ecgx01.jpg
Crest of the Wolf (JPN, CD)
Double Dragon II (JPN, CD) with spine card
Ninja Gaiden (JPN, HuCard)
Gotzendiener (JPN, CD)
Exile (US, CD)
all 5 for $75
Puzzle Boy (JPN, HuCard)
Slime World (JPN, CD) with spine card
those 2 for $10
Loom (US, CD) - $10
Shining Wisdom (Saturn)...from another vendor - $25
ECGX T-Shirt - FREE from Rob :D
