View Full Version : Instruction Manuals from the Nintendo Online Store

I've discovered that the Nintendo Online Store (http://store.nintendo.com/) sells replacement instruction manuals, for games as old as the NES to the present, for relatively cheap! I thought this might be a great way to fill in the holes in my collection. However, every item description says "This is the manual that was packaged with the game. The manual you receive may be a photocopy of the original manual."
Still, if the photocopies are of decent quality and there still is a chance of getting a real manual, I thought it might be worth buying some. I mean a photocopy straight from Nintendo is better than nothing, right? But then if "may be a photocopy" means "will be a photocopy" and the photocopies suck, bad deal.
So has anyone bought manuals from Nintendo before? Anyone know the chances of getting a photocopy or the quality of the photocopies? Thanks.

I was meaning to post about this.
I ordered a few of em from them and they are in fact photocopies, but very nice photocopies, nicely packaged in a ziplock bag complete with covers and maps. they are also oversized (about regular offical nintendo strategy guide sized)
I got dw3,4 and avatar.
I can snap a picture of em if anyone would like.

I second the "yes please." This sounds pretty interesting. For some reason, I was under the impression the catalog manuals were shoddy.

Wow.
Back when they still had actual manuals, the photocopies were essentially ran off from a copier machine.
(Yes, I'd like to see these manual repros from Nintendo.)

Unrelated? Since when is talking about original instructions for sale in my store spam in a topic about fake instructions and how old original ones are hard to come by and that I have many original instructions to offer for someone who might read this post about getting photo copied junk thats not even the correct size.
It is cool that nintendo does this in the future you will not be able to get any instructions for a good price.

I've ordered manuals from them several times over the years. It seems like the older systems (NES, SNES, GB) are always photocopies and the newer ones (GC, N64, GBA) are originals. Also, I have never been particularly impressed with the quality of the photocopies.
