I posted before a trade to see what you guys thought I should do. I went ahead with the trade and got ripped....LOL! I lost about $100 in games. I never really played them, but that is not the point. Is there anything I can do? Also, what happens when you file mail fraud?

Just out of curiosity, how do you know that you got screwed? I see that you posted about the trade only 10 days ago, so how do you know that the games aren't still coming?

Jibba does make a good point.

And if you are in fact really being screwed i suggest you pray to what every diety you believe in be it God, Allyah or Pope Jibba.

Yes, I posted this 10 days ago, but the trade had started on 3-6-06. He said he sent on 3-7-06. So, that means it will be going on 2 weeks in the mail tomorrow. Even if he had sent media mail, it would have already been here.

Ladies and gentleman

The hook: Lets make a deal

The Bait:

Suikoden
Suikoden II
Mega Man X3
Ogre Battle

The Fish:
metalichris

I have been the fish on quite a few occasions. Judging by the games he had up for trade and what he was willing to accept from you. Would have immediately caused me to back away.

musashi samurai legend
castlevania lament of innocents
xenosaga II
radiata stories

That bait list would have immediately told me it was to good to be true the only thing missing is valkrye profiles and intelligent qube..
Plus The fact that he was going to take musashi.

The bright side is each if the first 3 games run between 15-17.00 at gamestop. Wait for a buy 2 get one free and the games might arrive.

It is all a gamble.

One time a guy had an ebay listing of about 8 Saturn import fighting games. He had little or no feedback and the buy it now was 75.00
the games were

street fighter zero 3,marvel surper heroes vs streetfighter,
realboutspecial, world heroes perfect, vampier savior, xmen vs street fighter and a fatal fury for the gameboy.
All complete with there 4 meg carts and spine.

Waiting on that package was nerveracking. It was a gamble but it was worth it maybe yours is on the way. If you count the days it took yours to reach him.

Mail could be slow tax time is approaching.
Good luck

I have had stuff take up to a month before ariving. I even had a tracking number for said items. If it was in the states, I'd say just be patient. If it was international, then just chill and play something else a week or two more. I wont say your not getting screwed over, but give the postal sevice some time man, lord knows they take up as much as they can.

My packages take 21-28 days to make their way from Alberta to the States.... One time it was over a month, and the only thing I could do was pay to have it shipped faster. Luckily people understand, but it's still kinda slow and I know how it feels to wait forever for a parcel.

Best of luck to you on getting your parcel... it sucks to get ripped off.

i just had an ebay noob e-mail me going "dude, where's my package?" and it will have been 2 weeks in the mail as of tomorrow. i'll just tell you the same thing i told him: things often take up to two weeks to arrive, but rarely more than three weeks. keep your patience until the end of this week. if it doesn't arrive by friday let me know. :)

I had one package on e-bay that took almost 2 months before it got here. It came from the US to Can and it got caught in the boarder for that long. I'd relax for another couple weeks.

what does the person who traded with you say? and did they have good feedback on here? that is a big sign. especially if you are shipping internationally, expect delays!

It's slow between the US and Canada, both ways, WAY slow and a hassle. Why do you think so many of us don't ship to Canada? I'm sure your stuff is on the way, just relax.

Yeah, I don't know the details of the transaction but if it's being shipped between the US and Canada delivery can sometimes take a few weeks. Did the seller tell you how he shipped the package? If he used surface mail it can unfortunately take over a month at times.

In my experiences, stuff doesn't get to Canada before two weeks very often, and can take a good month even for airmail. Hell, I had a Priority mail package take two weeks to go two states away once, so anything is possible.

like everyone said, things can take time, so just wait a little bit before getting all excited / worried.....

i once had a $5 package take over 2 months from Canada to the US....it was a cheap item, so i rebought it and the original showed up way down the road....I sold it and got my money back....but thats not the point...if i was patient, i wouldnt have had to bother with reselling....

Be patient, it can take awhile, especially if you have a wierd postal service. Once, when i got my August 2004 issue of Tips & Tricks, it was messed up on the back end. Not water damage, but ripped. (The back of it was still there)

I don't mind if someone else reads my issues of T&T, but i want them to be in good shape when i get them.

I had Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon shipped media mail from NJ to NY and it took over a month. The mail system is terrible, especially if it gets routed through NJ.

sounds like a scam artist.. That sucks but 14 feedback is way to low for any trades.

I hope you didn't get ripped - that would suck :(

It makes you feel helpless and just ruins it for everyone.

But it could just be delays. I once bought a pocket PC off eBay. The seller was in the US, I'm in Canada. It took FOREVER to get here. Over a month. It got caught up at the border.

But it ended up just fine, it's sitting on the desk in front of me.

Here's hoping everything comes though.

Yikes. If some yahoo wanted to trade things with me and was unable to complete a simple 5 word sentence without abbreviating or misspelling every word, I'd tell him to get bent.

Hope it all works out for you and the others though. What a mess.

i think 14 positive w/ zero neg. would be one thing. everyone has to start at ground zero. I had no feedback here ( and don't have too many yet ) but people were willing to trade, including me trading Suikoden 1 and 2 and Castlevania SOTN. I think it's unfair to just assume someone with lower feedback will screw you. If you are worried, do the mod trade ( on that site ) or, have them send it first. if they are honest and understand that till they get a bit more feedback people will be leary, I don't see why you couldn't trade some games to someone with lower feedback.

on the flipside, I got hosed recently by someone who failed to disclose some info on a trade, so I can sympathize to a point.

I never, ever use the postal service for anything but letters. I am fortunate enough to work at a place where I can (within reason, of course) use the UPS station to ship personal packages at a good discount - but even if I didn't, I'd take it to a Mailboxes, Etc. or even arrange for a UPS pickup. USPS just isn't as reliable, and it's not worth a lost package to me or to the person who buys from me.

I don't really like to buy from or trade with people who ship via USPS, either.

You do have his adress and i bet you sent with delivery confirmation. Go from there, call him. If not, go to the police or check out http://www.ic3.gov/

I can ship at a hefty discount with UPS at my work as well. However, I think UPS has a $4 minimum and charges like 2.50 to deliver to a home address as opposed to a business.

Therefore, on smaller packages it costs quite a bit more to send UPS.

I just consider the cost justified for reliable, on-time delivery. I know when it'll get there with UPS and, more importantly, I know THAT it will get there.

USPS is a crapshoot sometimes. They're getting better, but they're not as good yet.
