Hello,

I am new to this site. It is very impressive, I'm glad I found it.

I am looking for information on the Roberts Paddle VI Console. I have one of these, with the original light gun. I can not find information anywhere.

The pong rarity lists that I have seen do not even list this console. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Casey

Well, without knowing more about it, I'd say that it almost certainly uses the General Instruments Pong-on-a-chip. Most random Pong units do and the fact that it has six games (assuming that's what the VI in the name refers to) including light gun games makes it even more certain.

As for its rarity, so many different machines were sold in every corner of the globe using the GI Pong-on-a-chip, that rarity is often hard get at. Rather, desirability is the measure for a Pong-on-a-chip system and that's based primarily on the design of the unit, I guess, like if it's unique or cool looking somehow. The fact that your system allows selection from all six of the chip's games (some limited it to four or even less) is certainly a good point in its favor. Does it display in color or B&W?

PRO TIP: Resize your images so like, you know, people can ACTUALLY see them and post / read posts on the page. :)

That is a sweet-ass light gun tho - ah, the good old days when toy guns actually looked like guns instead of day-glo plastic crap.
