I have a friend I am buying some NeoGeo CD games from, and among his games he has Samurai Showdown I-IV. He wants to sell them as a set for $120. Seems pretty excessive to me, but what do you think? I know the ROM versions of SS IV are pretty hard to come by and valuable, but how about the CD versions?

If you add all the CD values from the database, it comes to ~$60. Is that pretty accurate? These are complete with case and manual (but don't know about obi).

Thanks!

If the DP guide says $60, add no more than 20% to it for a high-end price. So, figuring that in, a high-end price would be $72-75. $120 is absurd; on a lucky day he might fetch that from eBay figuring that he has an I-IV set but other than that, good luck getting that from a private sale.

Give your mate a slap and tell him he's having a laugh. You could get Samurai Showdown 1 - 5 on MVS cart for <$150.

What's the load times on the SS games like?

70 is about right 120 is way to high. Just go with the AES carts SS 35 bucks Spirits for like $20 And Samurai Spirits 2 dosn't go for jack either. Samurai Showdown 2 us however your looking at a near 100 dollar game.

I picked up AES Spirits 1 in Japan for 1,000 yen. Sealed.

Shodown II & Spirits V Special are the only ones most fans strive for so as said before, the others dont sell for jack.

EDIT: Sorry. I forgot to address your question. Unless you're a SS junkie (and nothings wrong with that...SS rocks) I'd wait it out. Probably pick them up one at a time & pay close to half that.

Why is 'Shodown' spelled without the 'w' in the word 'show'?

^ It's a common overlooked mistake, no big deal. I used to mispell it as "showdown" all the time as opposed to shodown.

OK, I thought he was on crack -- so does everybody else :) He obviously likes the series too much to sell 'em, coz he's selling me a big lot of NGCD games for $5/per, except those 4.

Thanks!
