Sega CD Drive Swap

Ok i have a Sega CD Model 1 the drive is dead,the motor dosent eject the cd and the laser dosent read the cd. I have a friend that has a Mega CD (Europe Model) 1 and the drive works well only the bios frezzes.My Question is can i swap the Mega CD Drive and put it in my Sega CD?
