I got a couple of broken PS2's recently, one of them took me approx 20 mins to fix, the other I am having major problems with.
It read CD's (PS1, PS2 CD, Music) very quick.
It read game DVD's with a small delay
It read DVD movie with a huge delay
Now its clicking a lot, and stopped reading anything, I adjusted the white wheel to the rear of the laser unit, and now it reads CD's.
DVD movies dont work no matter what setting ive tried, I marked the original setting so ive been trying different turns of the cog.
Game DVD's are now working, but you have to eject when it refuses to play, and then put it in again, it then makes a few "bleep" "bleeeep" noises and plays with a small delay
Any ideas?
Also the other more major problem is the part where the controller port ribbon clips into the mainboard. Someone has obviously pulled this really hard, and the arm which holds the ribbon to the mainboard is snapped, they have folded up a spare ribbon cable and pushed it under the clip to try and hold the ribbon cable in... its not working and so the controller ports do not respond (as the cable is loose)
Any ideas?
Thanks guys in advance. Im not concerned with getting DVD movies to work as I want to use the PS2 for games only, I just need to get it playing DVD games more reliably, and fix the controller port problem and it should be really good then!
